Anyone living in the Gurnee area? I knre there were a few last year, but I just thought that I'd get a head count. I live in Fox Lake, but I don't think anyone lives there, anyway.

I am not far, in the Libertyville/Forest Lake/Vernon Hills area , so not far and I could drive - except when it snows. Yup, I do not drive in snow. Matter of public safety!

You're both close to me. I'm south of both of you. I travel to the Libertyville/Gurnee area nearly everyday though!

Hello, btw. I'm new to all of this.

What about the Panera in vernon Hills, at the Milwaukee/Townline crossing? Would that be a good meet place? (I think it is called Fashion Square, but need to double check)

Hm...cool.

I just need to get a ride =P

I don't have a car.

And I hate driving in the snow. It's scary. xD

Lol. You don't get around much in the winter, do you? lol.

I drive EVERYWHERE. I'd be completely lost without my car!

Oh, and, did I miss something? Meeting for what? I mean, I know where the Panera is (roughly), but what are you all meeting for?

Ah, OK. Well, I can meet from the 13th on, but I'm not available before that. So if you have meetings during the later weeks, I'm in! What do you do at these meetings?

Oh, and there's also the new Corner Bakery that opened up in the same area (I personally think they have better food and sweets, lol. And they have an AWESOME black currant iced tea!) if that might be a possibility.

Write, pig out, and just converse with the people in the area. How do you guys feel about the Panera Bread over in Round Lake? The one by Kohls and Buffalo Wild WIngs.

That Panera's nice ... plus it has free wifi if that matters.

Lots of space there too.

Waukegan here. I'd be interested in a meetup but I'm not sure how much I'll participate this year.

Unfortunately, Round Lake is too far from me. Libertyville/Vernon Hills would be better if possible. But then, depending on when you guys plan the meetup makes a difference too. I could meet up after the 12th, but not any time before.

Uh...what's in between?

Grayslake is in between ... there's a Starbucks, but no free wifi (correct?) and it's pretty small. Not sure how late they stay open either.

There's a Starbucks in Mundelein too, by the Super Target on 60, same thing, not sure on wifi, plus it's pretty small.

Grayslake Library has free wifi, but hours are limited.

I'm further out that Fox Lake, but Gurnee isn't too bad of a drive, especially since I've switched jobs. I'm dusting off my typewriters as we speak. :D

Cheers!

I'm in Deerfield but depending on weather and traffic and how my gas tank looks, I might be able to make it to one or two things but Vernon Hills is better for me. We could always do several different meetings in various places and continue the ones people show up to.

Grayslake by Country Dog wouldn't be too bad. Gurnee is too far though. Mundelein would work.

Aren't there a bunch of new places that recently popped up along Townline/60? I thought the Super Target on 60 was in Vernon Hills.

There's a TGI Fridays, a Buffalo Wild Wings, Hawhorne Mall is out there. Would somewhere in Hawthorne Mall work?

Sounds like whoever suggested doing several group meetups has the good idea though. It's sounding like we can't all meetup together in one place. We're spread too far apart.

I can go as far north as 120, and as far west as Rand rd (I'm thinking Deer Park area). I can go as far south as North Palatine/Arlington Heights area (by the Rand/Palatine/Arlington Heights rds tri-section), and as far east as Northbrook/Highland Park/Glenview.

So, whomever lives in those areas and has meetups, I can travel any of those places to meet you.

SuperTarget is in Mundelein too ... near Townline/60 and 83, out near Ivanhoe.

I'm up for anywhere really ... I work way down in Glenview, so I pretty much drive through the entire county to get home each night. :)

Westfield/Hawthorne Mall works great for me. I know there's at least a Barnes and Noble inside and a couple nice atrium areas.

The Barnes and Noble, at Hawthorne, is open til 10 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and til 8 p.m. on Sunday.

I just called them and they confirmed they also have WiFi at the store.

Westfield/hawthorne might be doable for me if I can get to someone's car or have someone be willing to drive me.

I still don't know because I still have basketball season coming up and tryouts are on Nov. 3...or was it 4? But yeah, I still need to fit that into my schedule.

For hawthorn-westfield B&N, what day? Any week evening for me is good except Wednesdays, Saturday is great, Sunday afternoon great too.

I could probably do a few Hawthorn BN's. Tuesdays or Thursday nights are better for me. My weekends right now are iffy or packed. I'm hoping I can write this on mostly weeknights. :D

Cheers!

Sounds like Hawthorne's B&N is doable for a lot of us, yay!

Please don't kill me, but I'm out of town until November 11th (hence why I kept saying that I can meet pretty much any day after that. Saturdays being the only exception. Wednesdays are doable after 7pm).

Anyway, I look forward to meeting many of you!

I'm up for the BN any night but Sundays or Thursdays, but preferably Tuesdays. I don't know why, other than it sounds like a good day. How's Nov. 4th look for everyone else?
