Anyone from EQ1 or 2 out there in NaNoLand? I've played both, though I am currently on a hiatus (for the last 4 weeks or so).
With both getting expansions this month, I am torn three ways, between EQ1, EQ2, and NaNoWriMo. My plan is to do a lot of pre-writing over the next week or so, then pick a game to play until Nov.1 and resubscribe for the new expansion. Then when November rolls around, I am going to use my desire to play as my incentive to get my writing done.
I have most recently played Rolia (a 73 berserker) on Xegony in EQ1 and Hazael (a 23 or so assassin on Najena). I am thinking about starting fresh on a new server in EQ2 if I go back, so if you have one to recommend, I'd be interested to hear what you have to say.

Geez, not another expansion...
I'm still subscribed to EQ1, but haven't logged on for a couple of months because my PC kept crashing in the summer weather; I guess it will give me something to do over the winter :).

I started in EQ1 a few years ago and still have an account there, but it is inactive now. Me and my husband play EQ2 these days (when he isn't out to sea) -- he has an 80 monk and I have a 56 ranger (plus a ton of alts) on Antonia Bayle. A great server, though it can be crowded at times. Our guild is wonderful (Golden Spoon) and has a lot of friendly people. Stop on by -- we'd love to have ya :)

I love that guild name, and I have heard good things about Antonia Bayle. I may take you up on that. :)

75 berserker and 46 inquisitor here on EQ2 Lucan D'Lere server. Personally, I would obviouslly recommed LDL but I suppose Antonia is okaaay...
----------It sucks though. My birthday is on the 10th of November, Shadow expansion for EQ2 is the 18th, I'm in college and NaNo is floating on top of all of this. I'm going to have to put some serious writing time aside every single day just to keep up!
In your dreams....anything is possible.

Not playing either at the moment but I have to admit the release of EQ2 totally derailed my 2004 NaNo attempt.

I um, run two accounts, sometimes three if my husband is gone *blush* (we have 3 total between us)
On the Guk server, got a 80 Half-Elf Troubador (Fridai), a 80 Ratonga (they're so cute) Fury (Fiath), a 79 Wood Elf Templar (Daenri), a 65 Arasai Brigand (Delora) but mostly I've been working at my 62 Dark Elf Swashbuckler (Kallysti). Kallysti was my main in EQ1, even did a little RP story about her moving ahead 500 years into the future & forsaking Innoruuk for Bristlebane...
I don't play quite as often as I had in the past but what can I say? It's one of my escapes & I do it well ;-)

My husband and I played EQ1 for a few years when it first came out and now we have been playing EQ2 since it launched. We are guild leaders of a Eurotime Guild on Crushbone. We also got into Beta for Shadows expansion...

I played EQ1 for... I don't even remember how long now, but it was years. Started between Kunark and Velious and quit not long after The Serpent's Spine was released.
I started playing EQ2 during one of the beta phases and played at launch, but didn't much like it back then. I started playing again roughly a year ago and discovered a vastly changed game that I enjoy a great deal. I was on AB at first and then started on Unrest but now play over on the Guk server in a guild called Revelry and Honor.
I thought AB was a great server especially considering the number of player-run server events that they get going over there, but the server had just gone through a massive influx of players when I joined and some of the older population was very unwelcoming to new blood. When I discovered that a lot of bloggers and podcasters were in RnH guild (and that the guild had a very catchy and silly theme song), my decision was made.

Played EQ1 from Release to Just Post-GoD on E'ci then Antonious Bayle.
Level 65 Cleric of a now Defunct guild, 4th or 5th on the server to hit time (which was about the time I quit).
Part of me is tempted to start up again, but the rest of me is poor and starving and won't spend the money on a monthly fee when I barely have time enough to do any gaming either way.
I'll just sit here and patiently wait until VirtualRealityMMORPG's. Hope it happens in my life.

Just found this thread. Heh..little late 'eh?
My husband and I are both playing EQ2 on the Antonia Bayle server though we also have characters on Lucan DLere. Some RP I was doing on LDL is what inspired the story I am writing (yes I'm still writing it. I have a ways to go to finish this first draft and it's at 118000 words so far.
I am Corylena or Jasmalea on AB (Jas was transferred) and Musieo and a few others on LDL. :)
