LOL Just a little historical tidbit for you...
Brazoria county (the "SOUTH" area of Houston for NANO purposes) is where the state of Texas began!!! ;-)
I'm Jennie - "abismom04" the South area liaison... and I'll be posting here often!!! This will be my 3rd year with Nano, my 20th year writing. I've been married 6 years as of yesterday, have two little children - Abi 4.5 and Deklan 2.75. I'm currently reviewing books and I write a monthly column in Romantic Times BOOKReviews magazine.
Check in, post something, ask questions... do whatever you need to do and we'll have a good time in October getting to know one another before we get our noses to the grindstones!!!
I will start a separate post soon to name some great writing places in our area. I'm not too terrible familiar with "old" Pearland, although I do love the new Barnes and Nobles in the new shopping center off 288. ;-) And I think that the Bass Pro shop has WIFI. ;-)

Hi Jen! Just checking in! Are we going to try and do a pre-nano write-in to help people (like me!) who have idea what they are writing? lol.

Hey Jen!!
Megan checking in. YAY!!!
I got a plot and I'm totally motivated to write this November. I can check out the Pearland area for some writing spots. I know the Town Center has an outdoor area where we can write...but no wifi there. There are a few Starbucks there. But I'm sure we can find out if Barnes and Nobles has Wifi. In fact, I'll check that out tomorrow, when I go up there.

Just to let everyone know...I stopped by the Barnes and Nobles in the Town Center and they said you had to pay like $4 to use the WiFi there.
But they said that Panera Bread and the Starbucks on 518 (right by the shopping center with Kohls, Ross, etc...) probably had free WiFi.

I know the Panera has free wifi, but not many power outlets.
All the Houston Public Library locations have free wifi, as another alternative.

I'm new and I live in Brazoria county too, just off 288 next to the new Ford Dealership. I know that if you ask, Panera will clear a spot for people. They do for the crochet/knitting group on tuesdays. There's a long table in the back with a few outlets.
----------Starbucks asks you to join T-Mobile's wireless service. It's a few bucks for a few hours. Panera is still free, as far as I know.

Brandi, I need a few more hints before I can be certain of your identity. Were you in newspaper while in High School?
Welcome all Nanoers/Wrimos (no difference really) of Brazoria County. I'm splitting my time between Pearland (where I work) and Angleton (where I live), so I'm going to help Tabatha organize write-ins up in the Pearland area.
