LaMishia and I would like to introduce yet another Point of Contact (POC) for the Shenandoah Valley region of Virginia!
Runkefer has courageously volunteered to represent the greater Charlottesville area. As your POC, Runkefer will be organizing local meet-ups and write-ins. She will also make sure your local events are posted to the region's Calendar. Our hope is that by having a POC close to home, you will feel more connected to your region and be able to participate in NaNo related activities even though you may be far from the region's headquarters. And now a little bit about your POC: (cue Dating Game theme music)
Although Runkefer is a first year NaNoWriMo participant, she is no stranger to the writing process. As we speak, she is focusing all her efforts on completing the second draft of her current novel before the craziness of NaNoWriMo hits in November. Runkefer is a long time resident of Charlottesville and co-founder the nonprofit writing center, WriterHouse, a place that she hopes to offer to her C-ville Wrimos as a place to call home.
We could not be more excited for Charlottesville Wrimos! Between Runkefer and A Nonny Mouse we hope that your NaNoNeeds will be met. We also hope that you feel welcome here in the Shenandoah Valley Region. Stay as long as you like! So if you are in the greater Charlottesville area and would like to introduce yourself to your new POC, this is the place to do it! Post a note to say hello. She will be checking in over the next few days to say hello and get things headed in the right direction.
Happy Noveling!
Your Co-MLs Susan & LaMishia

My first name is Rachel, so feel free to address me that way.
I've been in touch with a few people via nanomail about write-ins and other logistics, but would still like to hear from many more. I know you're out there!
One logistical issue we've got in Charlottesville is the Virginia Film Festival which happens the same weekend as the launch of NaNoWriMo. I know I will be going to some of the films, and probably some others of you will.
What do you say to a Bodo's Bagel Breakfast launch/write-in at WriterHouse on Saturday Morning November 1st? Say from about 9-noon? Any alternative ideas? Please let me know so we can get it on the calendar.

Hi Rachel!
I'm Cheri, and this will be my 4th year doing NaNo. I'm also located in C'ville and interested in local write-ins, so put me on whatever list is being generated!
I'm not very experienced w/message boards and the like, and it took me a few days to find a Charlottesville group over here. I kept looking for it to show up where the thread "Where in the Heck..." is located. So, maybe some others will make their way over here, as well.
Looking forward to a productive month!
