If you'd rather attend events that are NOT within the city limits, reply here with your area and we'll come up with some alternatives. Last year the Valley Forge group was a great success. =D It'd be great to start that up again.

I would love events outside the City! Not that I dislike Philly, it's just that getting into the City during rush hour is darn near impossible from my area. So, anything in Valley Forge or in the Lansdale/Montgomeryville area would be great. I could even do something in the Main Line area between Paoli and Bryn Mawr.

I'm out in the West Chester area, but getting to Malvern, Valley Forge, KoP, any of those places would be great!

How about Willow Grove? It is right there near the turnpike, 611, and 63 and there are plenty of potential meeting places in and around the Willow Grove Park Mall.

I'm in Delaware county. Last year we had some write ins in Springfield, but i would be open to going to some other ones in delco a little further away. while i'm considering going downtown for the kickoff party there's just no way i could make it into the city for write ins during the week.

I'd be up for anything in delco. Is there anybody who is taking classes at DCCC? I'm there on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. we could schedule some write-ins during our breaks or after classes.

I would like to meet up with other Nanoites on the Main Line. I am in Paoli and can meet up in K of P, Malven or where ever.

I have an idea for a story but I have no idea where to begin or how to do this. I am looking forward to this experience.

Check the PA Elsewhere region forums :) . I think Panera in Montgomeryville is going to be the spot this year.

In the Berks/Mont thread there.

If someone wants to meet around the mall I could do that sometimes. I work in Hatboro/Warminster (the county line goes directly through our building, hahaha). So going to the mall is not unusual for me.

I'd love to have write-ins at Valley Forge again this year - what day of the week did we do it last year? Was it Friday?

It was usually Friday, although I think we met once on Thursday.

I can meet on Fridays, although I'd have to leave by 10:30 (I have early Saturday appointments all November, bliss and joy).

Yeah we did Friday's. and a Tuesday because of Thanksgiving. If people aren't meeting in the Lansdale area on Friday's I'd pop over to write ins at Valley Forge again.

There is a Panera in Willow Grove also across the parking lot from the Barnes & Noble.

People can get there easily from the city, which makes it a good middle ground for everyone. There is direct train and bus service.

I'm cool with the Exton, Plymouth Meeting, or Valley Forge B&N's. Also, since Panera Bread also has free Wi-Fi (and great food too!), I'm open to the one in Wayne (Gateway Shopping Center) or Plymouth Meeting/Conshohocken... There's also a Cosi in Wayne/Berwyn/Valley Forge/whatever you call it -- they have free WiFi as well, and it's pretty spacious.

Btw - do we have a Main Line liasion?

I'd be there at Valley Forge! Week before Thanksgiving I'll be out of state for a long weekend, but the other Fridays are good.

(Tues the 11th I'll be heading out to Lancaster to see the Green brothers -- any other Nerdfighters around here?)

There's no special Main Line liason, although if someone wants to take charge of that, I'd be happy to pass on stickers and other ML goodies and whatever help is desired. =)

Yeah, I've been to that Willow Grove Panera, isn't it kind of small though?

The BN would be nice there.

For the central montco peeps (Lansdale, North Wales, Montgomeryville, etc) The panera at Airport Square in Montgomeryville has that back little room that would be great for writing.

Also in Lansdale, there is Saxby's coffee.

I'm flexible to meet at both places as I can get to either area relatively easy after work.

he-he, actually I think I still have NaNo temporary tattoos from when I did the YWP, so I can bring those if anyone wants NaNo stuff. ^_^ (My kids were too little for them.)

Okay, so for the Valley Forge B&N group, why don't we say...
Friday the 7th, 14th, and the 21st, 7pm at the Cafe in the Valley Forge B&N?

As I recall, the write-ins can go on for hours, and people kind of come and go as they need to. So if you have to leave by 8 or can't get there until 9, odds are there will still be at least a couple of us there waiting for B&N to kick us out. I will probably be hanging out there writing like a maniac during the afternoon of the 1st, if anyone would like to join me then. ^_^

As for Thanksgiving, we can always chat about that when we meet on the 7th and see which day works best for everyone. (I think just about everyone's away with family for the weekend, and the 28th would be crazy anyway because of Black Friday.)

Let me know if this works or not.

Hmm... I have an idea, I don't know if anyone will go for it.

Perhaps we could have several write-in locations at different days if there's a big enough consensus for it. For example, I won't be able to make any of the write-ins on Fridays but perhaps Thursday evenings would work for some people at Exton B&N. Or perhaps Saturday mornings at Panera in Plymouth Meeting would be good for some people. I'd like to have a few locations around the area so people don't feel like they're missing out if they can't make it to Valley Forge on Friday nights (of which I'm one of them). :P

Or we can always do what we did last year: Early in the day, post on here where we'd be having our individual write-in and invite others to join us.

I hope I'm making sense.

But I definitely think we should have a MontDelChesCo kick-off!

Oh, sure, I didn't mean that the Valley Forge meet-up had to be the one and only meet-up outside of Philadelphia. Heck, I'm totally pro other meet-ups on other days, so I can go to more than one. ^_^

Sorry if I sounded pushy or anything, I try too hard to organize. >.<

Shout out for Main Line Nano'ers I live in Devon but am a grad student at Villanova so I am open to places all up and down ,though the closer to Lancaster Ave. the better b/c I'm knew to the area and get lost easy. I have classes Tuesday and Thursday nights but I have a free official schedule outside of that, homework may eat time but other than that I am good.

That works for me, at least for the first 2!

The rest of the time I'll be at the Exton B&N if I'm writing in public, so anyone is welcome to PM me if you want to plan to meet up!

I'm good for those days and times.

And yes, Black Friday will be nuts at that store. Particularly in the evenings. I've been there, and it seems people save the bookstore for their last shopping, and around 5 pm or so it starts to get incredibly crowded. Last year, if I recall correctly, the lines were all but out the door for checkout . . . and the cafe was sold out of food!

Another Delaware County here. I would be up for a local meeting, but probably can't go further afield on a regular basis.
