We have our own region! woot!

Give a call out here to let us know who you are and what part of Bucks County you hail from.

I'm your ML, Sheila. I'll be holding at least 4 events for November. The Kick-Off, a couple write-ins, and the TGIO party. Please consider attending the TGIO if you dont attend anything else. More than anything, that night is a chance to commiserate, celebrate and let off some steam with people who have just been through what you have. Whether you win or loose, I'd like to have a chance to offer you a toast.

Right now, Newtown seems to be a good place for our meetings. I'll be scouting out the Starbucks on S. State Street this weekend. They have an extra room that we can reserve for our events.

I hope to meet you all this season!

Can I get a sound off? I need to know where people are comfortable going so I can plan our write-offs for the month of November. So far, I have a Feasterville participant, and a transient.

Introduce yourself.

In theory I'm not technically in Bucks county, I'm in Montgomery county, but I work in Hatboro/Warminster, so I'm around certain parts of Bucks county during the Work day. Somewhere around those areas might be cool after work.

BTW, I'm Nicole, 26 years old, second NaNo attempt. Hoping to win this time.

Hi Nicole!

I'm the opposite of you, I live in Warminster and work in Norristown. LOL

Hey! I'm from Quakertown myself, and I can't drive yet, so I don't know if I'll be able to come to any of the meetings, but I'll see what I can do!

Once again, good luck to everybody!

I'm from New Hope, and there are some really nice, QUIET coffeeshops in Lambertville on the Jersey side of the the river. Any New Hopians want to join forces with the Lambertvillians to form an unstoppable River Towns Coalition?

Go figure. :-) So may I ask how you commute to Norristown? I live in Lansdale, but if you know some roads that aren't the turnpike, I'd like to know. I know many different ways to get from Lansdale, to work everyday, but you know the turnpike accident city.

Hello! I'm Ree, I live in Richboro. :)
I'm up for write-ins and the TGIO, particularly if it's as close to me as Newtown.

Hope to get to know you all!

As far as time vs traffic and gas consumption, turnpike is best really. But if you just want another way, Horsham Road to 611, or follow the turnpike through Fort Washington to 63, along...Virginia Drive, I think it is? Been a while since I went that way, through the industrial park, past the Expo along Virginia Dr, then left onto Dresher Pike, I think. But from Lansdale, I'd use Horsham Road. Avoid County Line, it's just one darned traffic light after another.

There was a guy named Buck. His wife was Pearl S. Buck, and there are still some landmarks and a non-profit organization in her name. He was probably a philanthropic industrialist.

Hey, no teaming with the competition! But maybe we can issue a word count challenge to them.

Hey everyone, another person here. Name's Amy, and I actually live in Newtown, so when you mention the Starbucks on Main Street, I DO know what you are talking about! xD

That would be perfect for me, not sure about everyone else. I was also hearing about New Hope, but not too sure where that's going. But I am definitely one of those people that loves to get together just to talk and write together.

Can't wait for new news.

Hey Sheila, it's Tamm... I'm thinking I'm going to stick to Panera Bread in Montco myself... only because it's closer to home... I'm not familiar with Newtown at all... (am familiar with Street Road in Warminster though).

I hope you're doing wonderful! God Bless you for being a ML!

Off to get some work done.

Hello Sheila. My name's Karen. I'm in Morrisville, right on the river. I'd be up for meeting in the Oxford Valley Mall area. I know there's a B&N near there on Commerce Blvd. Other than that, I'd be game for anywhere within 45 minutes or less of driving. Gotta draw the line somewhere. :)

Oh, and since I'm a NaNo virgin, I hope you'll excuse my silly ignorance when I ask... what's a TGIO?

Hey everyone, my name is Katherine and this is my first NaNo. I'm from waaaaay up north of all of you guys. Even though I live in Bucks, I spend most of my time over in Northampton County (hence the Hellertown location). My mom's from the Yardley/Newtown area so I'm not entirely opposed to meetings there (I can visit my grandmother!), but it is a bit of a haul for me. Doylestown would be a bit more workable.

TGIO is Thank God It's Over!

I like this event best, but typically it is one of the smallest events for the NaNo Season.

Cai here.

I live and work in LambHopia. Or New Lamberbt. Or the River Cities. Or that place that's too crowded to visit on the weekend. (aka New Hope-Lambertville)

Life has some odd constraints for me, and I have no idea how far I'll run with this fun little project. I"d like to meet others in the cult, but am not in a place to make a commitment to dates or times. I hope that works ok with this charming group.

stay warm,
Cai,
who's getting excited at the idea

Hi all, late sound off.

I'm Casey, I live very near Peddler's Village (and should've checked these forums a day earlier, lol). I can obvi do Peddler's Village meetups, or New Hope or Doylestown easily. Anything within 30 minutes (Newton, Warrington, mb even Oxford Valley) is possible, though less probable.

Done NaNo 3 times before, but this is the first time I'll be home and with a car. Looking forward to regional meetups!

Hi all. I figured I'd stop lurking and actually introduce myself, seeing as how NaNo is almost upon us. My name's Gretchen, and I live here in lovely Doylestown. This is my second year doing NaNo. I spent eight or nine years observing the madness from afar and thinking about participating, but I only got the gumption to do so last year. And now I'm back for more pain.

I don't know how well I'll be able to make meet-ups, but for me, the closer to D-town, the better.

Less than a week to go. Good luck, everyone!

Whoops, haha

I'm Gwen. I did the NaNoWriMo kids thing last year, but I had to drop out at around 20k. November is a busy month for me--family reunion at the beginning, my birthday on the 22nd, Thanksgiving, etc. This year, though, I finally figured out that HEY, you only need 1,666 2/3 words per day to finish on the 30th. (;

I'm in Warminster at the VERY VERY VERY edge of Bucks County... I live just off Countyline.

Helllooo!

I was glad to find this region specific! It was better than being plopped into Pennsylvania Elsewhere or Philadelphia!

Anyway, my name is Alexis, I'm 21 years old and I live in Southampton. I'm in college right now, so I have that busy-ness to deal with along with NaNoWriMo, but I'm glad that I've found this group! :) Nice to meet you all!

Hey everyone!

I'm Val. I'm in Harleysville, this is my first year doing NaNoWriMo. I
can't drive, but may be able to get a ride every now and then if my
parents are feeling generous enough. November weekends seem to be busy
this year (just my luck :P ) and who knows what life will dish out?
Landsdale, Souderton, Quakertown and Worcester are pretty close by me,
and anywhere within about a 30 minutes drive is probably do-able.

Best of luck everyone!
