Here in Toronto, we like to start NaNoWriMo off with a bang - and that means a party!

Join us for an evening of food, fun, and getting to know your fellow novelists from the Toronto area! All three of us MLs (D.J, Victoria and Debs) will be on hand to introduce ourselves, and will also be planning a few things to get everyone pumped for the crazy weeks to come! Toronto's NaNoWriMo compilation CD will also be available (freshly printed).

We had such a great time at Butler's Pantry last November that we've decided to hold our kick-off there once again.

Here are the details:
Thursday, October 30, 2008
7:00 to 11:00 p.m.
Butler's Pantry
591 Markham Street (about half a block south of Bloor)
Toronto, ON
M6G 2L7

If you are coming by TTC, the far (west) end of Bathurst subway station comes up and out on Markham Street, so you'd just have to walk south.

We can't wait to see you there!

(P.S. By all means, do the costume thing if you'd like - it is Hallowe'en Eve)

I'm going to do my best to make it. And I think I'll come dressed as an aspiring writer.

I booked the time off work, and hopefully I'll get it, so 95% probabilty I'll be there. And while I won't be in costume, I'll be dragging my mother along. Which is way cooler :)

I'm also an addict, but they get re-played a million times a week, so I'm not really worried. :-)

Quick Question: Can I bring someone who's not participating in NaNo? It'd be my boyfriend, and He is my wonderful cheering section

Hi Morgaa,

Absolutely! Cheering sections are a key part of the support team that enables all of us to get through NaNo in (more or less) one piece. Family members and significant others are more than welcome. I'll look forward to meeting you and your BF at the kickoff!

Hello!! I will be visiting from out of town. Well: out of country, really, as I'm from Spokane Washington. I'll be arriving in Toronto around 4pm October 30th, and will be there until November 5th. I'm trying to talk the friend I'm visiting into attending with me. (Since he's who I'm meeting, and will be my transportation... I have to get him to go along with it. Willingly, and not just to make me happy, as if that's the only reason... I'll feel rude).

I'm really hoping to join you guys... and the restaurant looks amazing! I just browsed their menu.

Update:

I will be attending. I'm not sure for how long, but it will be me and a guest.

I will very likely be there. I may be in costume (then again, I may not). I may bring my boyfriend (but again, maybe not.) And I might wear pants (who are we kidding, probably not.)

I am at the Argos game that night, but I will wander in late. Looking forward to attending, perhaps it will be the catalyst in actually getting to the 50,000 word goal.

Yeah, I should be able to make it.

Don't know if I'll bring anyone, though.

Looking forward to meeting some other novelists.
