Hello, hello! Thanks all of you for the many welcoming posts. I am just bursting with fun ideas for Pittsburgh this year, so I wanted to touch base quickly about some things that are on the horizon.

First of all, I have begun compiling a master list of usernames and locations of everyone who has posted. If you have yet to post here in the forums, please feel free to do so, particularly if you're interested in attending meetups/write-ins. Most of us have been responding over on that 'HEY ALL YOU PITTSBURGHERS' thread, which makes it nice and easy for me to scroll through in Gmail and add new users to the list. Don't be shy - we're all quite friendly here (it's a Pittsburgh thing :)! If you don't feel comfortable with a public post, you can always NaNoMail me on here to let me know your exact location.

That being said, it so far looks like we have three central locations for meetups/write-ins: general Pittsburgh vicinity (I will try to vary the sites here throughout our little areas, I promise), Monroeville, and Beaver-ish. I've got ideas for places in both of the first two, but since the only places I know in Beaver County are the two high schools where I taught winterguard and my grandma's house (and I don't really know how many outlets she has for our laptops ;), I'm going to need some suggestions of where we can go there.

Also, there is a Pittsburgh NaNo LiveJournal in the works. You won't really need to have an LJ account to access it, although they are now free if you'd like to join. LJ just allows for a bit more freedom with .html posting and archiving, so we can use both these forums and the LJ. I'll tell you more about this as it falls more into place.

Anyway, I am super glad to see everyone so excited about the upcoming month! I'm sure more and more people will be trickling in over the next few weeks, and I'm hoping we can really start the Pittsburgh NaNo Revolution (word wars with other cities, anyone? We beat them in the Superbowl; who's up to challenging Seattle at word count??). As always, if you've got questions or suggestions, let me know!

Luv Ya Black & Gold,
Fox.

Totally up to challenging for a word count! Or a WPM contest? (Last time I was tested I typed 78 WPM, I've gotten a new keyboard since then though and the spacings a tad off, and I'm still getting used to that, so I'm probably a little slower now...)
