Want to host a write-in or meet up for fellow wrimos in your area? Here's where to find out when people are free and how willing they are to travel. I'll also use this thread to try and supplement the current event schedule.

Fellow wrimos! All you have to do (if you choose) is to post when you are typically available and where you are willing to drive to. If you want to throw out an aproximation of where you are located that is good as well.

I will drive anywhere within 20 minutes and have no idea when I will be free until a few days before hand. I am generally free before 4pm on Saturdays and Sundays and two to three nights a week, though those vary quite a bit.

I'm free on weekends, and I'm about 45 minutes away from the city. Depending on where the meet-up is going to be will really decide if I'm going to be able to get there.

Monday - Friday I work until 4 (the hubby works till 5 and he's my ride, so unless I take the bus I'm stuck). For the weekends Saturday I'm fairly flexible, Sunday is harder to schedule things for me since my husband works Sundays. I live just outside of Fairport, so I could do something there on a Sunday. Weeknights and Saturdays I can travel farther thanks to the hubby. (I can take the bus if needed, though the schedules and routes are weird. I do work at Fisher, which has 2 different bus lines either on or near campus - 3 if the Eastview bus gets off the 490).

If you get brave and want to do a little getaway, I live in Penn Yan on Keuka lake. There is a new Best Western, and a nice wine trail perhaps people could meet up.....

I am new to this process and interested to learn more. I have ordered the book.
Thanks,

I'm generally free weekdays after 4 (or 5/6, depending on my ride situation). And most weekends. I also suggest 24-hour places for nightbirds.

What's everyone's favourite "chill out" spots, where a potential meetup could happen?

I think Boulder Coffee Co. has a really great atmosphere for writers, but I'm sure there's loads more places I haven't thought to go.

Hi,

I'm in East Irondequoit, but work in Brighton. I'm available weeknights and weekends, and while I would prefer to meet up on the eastside or in the city proper, I'm not opposed to driving to the westside as long as the weather is okay.

I'm excited about getting started again! *s*

Hey everyone.
I agree with Boulder, but their music is pretty loud, and it could get crowded, so we'd have to find a day when they aren't busy.

As for me, my work schedule changes every week, but I've asked my manager to cut my hours for November, and I tend to get Thursdays off.

If planning anything, just go with everyone else's schedule and shoot me a line. I'll probably be able to make it.

I work in retail so my hours most unfortunately aren't set. I also live in Greece so any meet ups there would be great for me.

I too work retail, so my schedule shifts each week. Typically, I'm off on Thursdays (and occasionally Saturdays). My boyfriend and I share a car, but we've got a nice arrangement worked out, so I could meet up pretty much anywhere. I'm not opposed to driving a half hour or so.

I agree that Boulder would be a really great place to have a meet-up. The new coffee house/cafe at Park Point (Lovin' Cup) is pretty neat as well, though they do tend to be on the busy side most days that I stop in.

Hi All,

There's actually a new Boulder location opening up just across the river from U of R. I think they open on the 10th so that might be another option.

My work schedule tends to leave most evenings free after 5 or 8, depending on the day. Weekends are good almost any time.

I'm still in school and still underage, so I won't be able to go to any places that serve alcohol, as that would raise legal issues. I live ten to fifteen minutes, depending on how fast you drive, out of Rochester. My schedule is kind of hectic, but there is a cute little cafe in the village where I live, Honeoye Falls, if anyone ever wanted to go there. It is small, but quiet and has delicious food.

So I'm underage, too, which means no alcohol places and stuff, but coffee shops are always a good idea. I live in Brighton, and I'd say 12 Corners or Pittsford Plaza would be pretty cool to meet up in. My mom or dad have to drive me places, though, so I don't think it can be TOO far away. :) I'm ultra excited!! I get home from school at like 3-3:30, and i have youth group wednesday nights (6:30-8:30), and choir/church on sundays(probably until about 1-1:30)

I can't think of any other things which would be a major conflict. i can't wait to meet you guys! woo nano!

Are you talking about the place at the corner of Brooks Ave and Genesee Street? I was peeking through the window this past Sunday (yesterday) when my husband and I went on our Saturday walk.
Looks good in there. I can hardly wait to write in there.

I can't believe I said, "On Sunday when I was in my Saturday walk," As if I used my "Wayback machine" right? :D

I believe the new Boulder (yes, at Brooks and Genesee) is opening in the first half of November.

I'm interested in locations around UR & the 19th Ward, downtown, or elsewhere if I can get a ride.

I'm free just about all the time, and I have a car so if people need rides for meetups so long as you're willing to chip in gas money I'm more than happy to give my fellow nanoites a lift. Just post on here and I'll get in touch.

My schedule is fairly randomly planned, but if there's times posted somewhere and it coincides with time I have free, I'll probably show up.

Panera Bread in Henrietta on Hylan Drive is nice.

There's also the Super Wegmans they put in over near 15A on Caukins Road. They have a big area for sitting down and eating, and some of them have wireless.

Some Tom Walhs (sp?) also have wireless.

A coffee shop across from South Town Plaza called Jitters...never been there, but I want to check it out.

Spot Coffee is nice. In the balcony there's a long counter top with power and wireless.

Boulder is loud at night, but I'm not sure of the rest of the times.

Let's see...put me down for Tuesdays the 11th, 18th, and 25th at Panera Bread on Hylan Drive from 8 to 11 (or closing, which ever comes first).

Hopefully that'll keep me motivated.

I'll have a sign hanging on the back of the laptop to make it easy to find me.

i work an 8 to 5. i live in the city and don't have a car... so if it's not readily accessible by bus, or walkable, i'm probably not going.

my weekends are almost always free. i spend a lot of time at muddy waters coffeehouse on s goodman and clinton, especially on sunday afternoons.
