This is my second year, but my third attempt at 50k in one month (I was rather angry at myself for only getting halfway in november so tried june too - during nanomango). I'm hoping 'third time lucky' applies to me!

We had around 7 people in Townsville introduce themselves on the forum last year, maybe we will see some new faces in '08?

This is my third year attempting Nano, and hopefully first time succeeding, since Uni isn't in the way this time! I'm with you Tessa, third time lucky!
So who else is out there?

Hey guys!

Name: Xhan
Age: 20 (21 mid november)

I was around last year and I'm back again for more! Last time I was still living in Ingham so I never made it to any of the meet ups, but this time I'm in Tsville and ready to go!

LOLs

I'm Cass (the chaotic one) from *erm* at the moment I'm in Gulliver *coff* well till I move again anyway.

I'm 24 and am a total fruit loop (no seriously, I have issues LOL)

I attempted last year but sort of got distracted by real life.

----------

I had a plot. Or I thought I did, then I sat down to write and found the plot is in the same place as my sanity. Which is to say, not here.

Hello all,

well, last year was my first attempt at NaNoWriMo, and I'm happy to say that I made it with a couple of days to spare, so was very chuffed with myself. I'm sorry to say however, that I haven't looked at it since January, when I printed it out to start editing it (and didn't get around to it).

I've actually decided not to do NaNo this year - it took up a hell of a lot of time last year, and whilst I do want to have another bash at it someday, I've got a lot on at the moment.

So good luck to everyone who *is* participating this year, and I'll be thinking of you. Maybe I'll be back next year instead :-)

cheers, Obs

Hey Obs! I remember you. Sad to see you aren't participating but a break is always good. :)

And man, two Inghamites this year? That's not fair. I was on my own last year and now that I'm not there there's two. Haha oh well.

Good luck everyone!

HI Everyone!

Good to see people from Townsville geting into it again!

My name's Brad and yes, I live in Townsville. This'll be my... no idea how many it is now. My profile remembers, but it's enough that I can consider myself completely off my rocker to come back again! (edit: This is number 8!)

Off on holidays for a week, getting back late on the 31st... and hopefully with a better idea of what I'm doing!

There was some great forum participation last year from Queenslanders. I hope we see the same again. It makes all the difference to know you're not the only crazy one, not the only one talking to yourself in crowded streets and not the only one getting teary at random moments because you just thought of something sad to do to one of your characters.

I can't wait!

Get ready for a crazy month - WE'RE GOING TO HAVE FUN! (and yes, I'll be harrassing each and every one of you!)

ps. If you're around here somewhere Greg, jump in and start talking it up. You were inspirational last year!

Hey Brad! I'm pretty sure Greg is hanging out on the Cairns thread.

Hey Folks,

Yeah, I've sort of been hunting round the threads trying to find the ol' gang! I think I'll stick with this one and the Rockhampton one for now... if that's ok? I used to live in Innisfail... was in Townsville (scratch that, got LOST in Townsville) earlier this year. Geez I turn my back for a couple of years and the bloody place explodes!

Spent a couple of days frolicking about in your lagoon on the Strand until a native told me about the drownings and the crocs. Suddenly not being able to see my feet in the murky water wasn't so much fun anymore.

Ok, hope everyone is fired up and that your plot lines are roughly sorted out. What's everyone planning to scribble this year? Let me know as I love the build up, the enthusiasm and hope mixed with a healthy dose of 'Hell, what am I doing this for... again?!'

Cheers,

Gb

Well, this year is going to be a mission.

I'll be up in Cairns for the first few days and unable to write, then coming back to Tsville for work, riding, sport and at some point I'll be moving house. On the 12th I'll be turning 21 so that's guarenteed to be another weekend lost... but what the heck, I'll keep at it anyway!

I'm writing a story that I've been trying to get down on paper for a few years now. I keep getting side-tracked, the plan keeps evolving and then I just run out of time. This time though, even if I fail Nano miserably, I'm going to keep writing.

...At least that's what I tell myself.

Anyway! Good luck everyone!

Howdy gang. I'm in Airlie Beach - so kinda in your neck of the woods.

This'll be my 4th year, won in 05, but last year and the year before had far too much on. Got a fair way through both times though - well into the 40,000's anyway.

I'm off to Brisbane for a 6 week holiday on the 27th, and have two exams and 3 kids and 30 hours training and all the usual stuff.

I'll give anything a go though ;)
