The calendar says November 1st is a Saturday this year. Now, I don't remember if we were meeting on Saturdays or Sundays last year, but how about a Saturday, November 1st, Kick-Off-Write-In!

After that, do you prefer Saturday or Sunday afternoons for write-ins? Shall we do 2:00-4:00pm?

I'll get a poster or two up at Chapters in the next week and ask about getting that back room (for shady business) for us--after we determine when we want it.

Sounds good to me!!

I'm not sure whether Saturdays or Sundays would be better... for me, I think either would be good. 2-4pm sounds good, too.

Yay, I can't wait!!

I think my plan is to be sufficiently zonked on Hallowe'en candy that the keyboard won't have stopped clacking since midnight :)

Which means that I shouldn't drive myself to Chapters. That would be awkward, what with only being able to write with IOU (maybe Y) as vowels, as that's what the right hand in proper position can reach...

On topic: Sat. kickoff sounds good! Perfect opportunity!

Oooh, shady business, you say? Sounds awesome! Except I don't have a laptop so I'll have to bust out the old-fashioned "pencil" and "lined paper" business...

Oh yeah... I guess I'll have to do that too... oh well!!
Unless a laptop falls from the sky. Yay, that would so be awesome!! If it landed in one piece, I mean.

I totally can't do Saturday afternoons - I teach at my studio on Saturdays.
So, Sunday is my preference but hey, majority rules so just let me know.

I DO have a laptop but often prefer pen to paper when I'm writing in the mall food court or
a coffee shop.

Excited to say that because November first is not just the first day of NaNoWriMo, but my birthday, my wife has something planned for the weekend that she's not telling me about. That said, I've been asked to be liquid on any commitments for the 31st, 1st and 2nd. So, I may, or may not join in this Saturday -- did I just say THIS SATURDAY? -- Wowzers! Time to think about what to write!

Either Saturdays or Sundays generally work for me.
This is my first time doing this, so I'm pretty excited. :)

I'm not sure if I can make this first one because we might be having a family birthday thing for my sister on that day. :(
It might be changed to Sunday, though, so... we'll see.

If it does end up being a Sundays I won't be able to make it, as I work pretty much every Sunday. *sad face*

And what about the Calico?

So, we have the Official Kick-Off at Chapters @ 2pm, just 'cause it's Nov. 1 :)

After that -- switch to Sundays?

Also: is anyone interested in a midnight start with at the beginning of November thing?

I've been contemplating this and trying to think of a venue. A 24h breakfast place comes to mind, but we don't really have any of those anymore, I don't think (Joe's on Arthur?). A pizza hut/place? (are they open that late?) Is there a coffee shop open that late? Not having been a full/part-time University student in a while, I'm at a loss for places open late night.

I think Boston Pizza is open until 3am, and Tim Horton's is always open. But... I wouldn't be able to go. But that's what I know about places, anywhoo.

If people are getting together to write I can do Sundays. Saturdays are out for me as I work nights and need to sleep during the day :)
