Heeeeey, guys. It's the world's worst ML here. New name, same lack of motivation.
I have the world's worst schedule this semester (I say that every year, right?), so I will be around for write-ins on Monday and Tuesday nights, and any other day in the afternoon. I'm thinking maybe lunchtime on Fridays. If you want to start your own set of nightly write-ins, feel free!
Let's get to know each other. Some of you I've seen the last two years I've been here, some of you are fresh faces.
Name: Delia
NaNo Years: 2005 [won], 2006 [missed by about 10k], 2007 [I don't wanna talk about it], 2008
Best NaNo Experience: I met my three BFFs here in 2006.
Genre: Romance...ish
Primary Writing Motivator: chocolate treats, not looking like an ML failure, kittens
Hopeful Wordcount: 50,001
Favorite Write-In Treat: M+Ms
Preferred Write-In Day/Time: Monday and Tuesday nights, Wednesday and Friday afternoons
What Do We Need To Know?! Let's see. I'm no longer a student, I work at the public library giving people books for free and at Mercy Hospital with sharp things. Both jobs, for some reason, cause people pain (books hurt, I guess). I have a kitty and a fishie and after two months I broke up with my latest all-consuming love: bacon. I'm on LJ, too. Same name here and there.

What Do We Need To Know?! Um, I'm a single mom. I'm 24. I don't know anyone in Iowa for the most part. I have no one to watch my son on Monday and Friday nights for write-in purposes. I work full time at the P&G plant for a contractor.
A write in is where a bunch of NaNo nuts get together someplace and write. :p

Hopeful Wordcount: minimum: 49,999. maximum: 51,000, if i'm lucky.
Favorite Write-In Treat: candy, coffee, hot chocolate, and chocolate of many kinds

What Do We Need To Know? uh...i'm a nutty, sardonic, and hopefully loveable 24 year old who hopes to publish one day (if my ADHD lets me, that is...) Lived here my entire life, planning on getting to the u of i sometime, but now i'm just focusing on writing.

Name: Matt
NaNo Years: I'm a newb
Genre: Suspense? I guess?
Writing motivator: Self-mockery
Word count: 50k
Write-in preferences: I have no idea
What do we need to know? I've no idea how this is going to go; I've never really tried to write for any long stretch of time. I once dropped a class in college because I didn't want to write the paper. Hopefully writing my own fiction will be much more fun than trying to analyze someone else's work under the constraints and pressure of a university course.

Name: Zee_99 ... you can call me Zee, Zekechi, or Zeechi... if you absolutely must, you may call me by my given name... but I'm not tellin', so you can't go callin' me that...
NaNo Years: uhm... NaNo virgin. Right here. Me.
Best NaNo Experience: ... well, I heard cookies and cake would be offered, but I was deceived...
Genre: Science-Fiction, Fantasy, Mystery, Horror
Primary Writing Motivator: Music, the dude in the next room, caffeine, the occasional cigarette and a healthy shot in the arm of the brutality of working with the human race
Hopeful Wordcount: ... I can write 50.000 words in 30 days. I think. I hope. Maybe.
Favorite Write-In Treat: I am rather partial to peanut butter M&Ms, and Haribo Roulettes. I likes the Roulettes
Preferred Write-In Day/Time: I am a literary vampire... meaning I do my best work by night. Like, late at night. I'm fun like that.
What Do We Need To Know? I am an extremely bizarre human-like entity with two personalities - there is the lovable, capable Zekechi and the mildly unpredictable, scary and somewhat introverted real me. We get along marvelously and hopefully everyone only sees Zekechi... 'cos Zekechi is kinda rockin. I am an extremely sarcastic individual, and the level to which I take things seriously fluctuates between serious and not so much. Needless to say, I take a little getting used to, but just ask PinkKittyAmiChi. She knows me better than anyone. She can assure you of my normalcy.

Name: Eric Hanson
NaNo Years: 2008
Best NaNo Experience: No clue, yet.
Genre: Black humor / satire
Primary Writing Motivator: Oddly enough, feeling down makes me want to write a lot more. Aside from that, quiet, rainy days.
Hopeful Wordcount: 50,000
Favorite Write-In Treat: No clue; never been to one. I'm assuming coffee will be a big hit, though.
Preferred Write-In Day/Time: Any night of the week, but not on weekends.
What Do We Need To Know: I'm a UI freshman studying English, and looking at going for the new creative writing track for undergrads. I'm big into script writing, mostly for screenplays, but I enjoy prose and the occasional poem. I'm into old punk rock music and a lot of 90's alternative stuff. I guess you could say I'm a bit of a grunge baby. Also, I'm a big Beat generation fan; my favorite book is On the Road by Kerouac.

Welcome, Eric Hanson. Zeechi welcomes you. Zeechi - that'd be me. :-)
I'm always happy to meet another person who digs rainy days as much as I do. The only bad thing about rainy days is that I get bored at my job... but that's 'cos no one wants to come into the shop, but enough about me.
Coffee and teas and caffeinated goodness are always needed for writers. I am convinced of this, just ask PinkKittyAmiChi. She will tell you the same. My personal favorite is 180 energy drink, preferably orange flavored, because the caffeine kick is the perfect thing to motivate the sensible writer. Though I've no idea what a sensible writer is.
Anyhoot, hope to meet you in person for a write in and share caffeine, stories and good times.
'Ta!

NaNo Years: There's a first time for everything...
Genre: fantasy
Primary Writing Motivator: a desperate need to escape the demands of real life
Hopeful Wordcount: 50,001
Favorite Write-In Treat: I'm going to have to go coffee here, but feel free to add any sugar-laden baked good you can imagine
Preferred Write-In Day/Time: Thursday nights are great, but I could probably also do other week-nights on a variable schedule
What Do We Need To Know?! I am an ex-student who has never left academia, an occasional thespian, a life-long logophile and a hardened thug. (Just kidding about the thuggery). I taste music and love cats. I have been crowned the Eternal Scone Queen on the Stone of Scone...over the Internet, but I'm sure they get wifi in Scotland, too. I guess that will have to do for now.
I plan to hit a local coffee shop every Thursday--if that sounds good to anybody, let me know, we'll settle on which coffee shop, and we can do a write-in!

Well, much as I tried to stay away, I couldn't let November go by without at least pretending to do NaNo. So we'll see how this goes.
Name: Alissa
NaNo Years: 2004 was a bust; 2005 I wrote a fantasy thing with pirates and won; 2006 I wrote a historical French Revolution novel and won (AND IT WAS AWESOME); 2007 I attempted Serious Literature and failed; 2008, we shall see.
Best NaNo Experience: 2006! I finished my novel and it was a good novel, which is both awesome and amazing.
Genre: Um. I don't even know. Angst? Romance? We'll see.
Primary Writing Motivator: procrastinating on schoolwork, specially on my thesis, which I am supposed to be writing this year.
Hopeful Wordcount: I am going to be optimistic and say 20,000.
Favorite Write-In Treat: chocolate-chip cookies.
Preferred Write-In Day/Time: Monday nights are fairly good; I'll try to show up at the next one.
What Do We Need To Know?! I'm a student - an English major with a German minor and a Medieval Studies certificate, to be precise. I work and I go to school and I write, and I never have any fun, except for NaNo (which is Monty Python-esque torture, really). But this is all right, because I'm used to it.

What Do We Need To Know?!: I just graduated high school in June, which means I'm eighteen. I have a full time job at ACT (Tyler building) that I love. I live with my parents and the best dog ever - Bailey, a cocker spaniel, lhasa apso, and chow chow mix. He's short and stubby, gallops like a horse, and is interested in small female dogs, cornbread and sleeping.
