Hello Fellow North Carolina Wrimos!

My name is Jess and I'm co-ML of Asheville. I'm writing to you, my NC Wrimo brethren, to challenge you to a North Carolina Regional Word War this year!

I don't know individual MLs of each region so I'm posting this on each region's forum. MLs, feel free to nanomail me directly to let me know if your region is interested in participating.

Haven't figured out what winners/losers get, so suggestions are welcome!

See you in November!

Jess

The challenge is on!

I created a blog with word count widgets for each of our regions. Once word count is active, each one will show the current word count and people writing for each region.

Click here to visit the NC word war blog!

MLs, e-mail (wordfencer@gmail.com) or message me and I'll send you the e-mail/password to get into the site. Then you can post updates, photos from write-ins, links, etc. for your region.

We're also working on "prizes" for the winning regions (1st, 2nd, 3rd). Are there any crafty people out there who'd be interested in making simple trophies/awards?

Good luck to everyone!

To level the playing field - because it's unfair for the 7 people in Greenville to be competing against 176 people in Raleigh-Durham - we're counting words per person in each region to calculate who's "winning." For example, as of this writing, the totals are:

Greenville - 14,560 wpp
Asheville - 14,553 wpp
Chapell Hill - 12,728 wpp
Elsewhere - 11,858 wpp
Raleigh-Durham - 11,837 wpp
Fayetteville - 11,804 wpp
Charlotte - 11,290 wpp

Just wanted to make sure we're all counting the same way! :) Any questions, nanomail me!

Good luck everyone!

Jess
