I can't believe the nanowrimo is 10 years old. I can't believe I'm on my sixth year wtih them.
AND I really can't believe that my first nano is under consideration.
So...enough about me.
Welcome to the board. Welcome back to the board.
I'm Kai. I'm a second year Undergrad of creative writing. I attend Slak, and have (apparently) a broad Scottish acccent, so I'm easy to spot, even without the t-shirt of glowing doom. I may actually wear another t-shirt cuase it's even more eyecatching, but more on that nearer the time ;))
I'd really appreciate it if those in Cheltenham and the surrounding areas, and those that can commute to Cheltenham, could confirm when thier 'good' days are, so I can arrange meetings - though, I'm thinking that Friday evening/Saturday or Sunday during the day is the best plan, but I'm willing to head with the most popular days.
Those that can't commute, if you're in areas that we cover, let me know and I'll see if we can organise something for you guys. I'm willing to take on a Co-ml in Gloucester/Stroud/wherever else we cover (sorry, I'm really rubbish with geography :( ).
I'm also setting up a mailing list and chatroom on the back end of my site, for times when the server is hard to access (trust me, it happens) and so we can run virtual chat challenges 'etc'.

I'm really excited about this year - so please introduce yourself, and what you're hoping to do.

Sub group meetings

I've been PM'd/IM'd about this and thought I'd try and explain a few things - so excuse me while I talk about myself for a sec.
I've been doing the Nanowrimo for...well...for as long as they've been running it with ML's. My first Nanowrimo was in 2003, just after I split from my ex. I ran the WHOLE of Scotland :D.
Because it was such a big district, I organised with people to organise meets themselves in places I just couldn't get to.

Fast forward to last year - I had a broken foot, and had just started Uni. My (now) fiancee and I decided that if I was running events, that I'd only run the ones in my own comfort zone, and let others run in other parts of the county.
This group covers the whole of Gloucestershire - so if anyone wants to take on a part of the county that doesn't have cover, just holler in my direction :)
I'm 'in charge' of organising and documenting everything, like our meets, but if someone else wants to run meets elsewhere, or on different days, I'm all for that - just let me know.

We'll be arranging a 'lets meet everyone' in the next few weeks :D
