I fit into both categories! I finished my Master's at Tulane last spring (2007) and still live close to the University, but I'm definitely older than the people in the Tulane thread.

Well, I graduated from Loyola, so I'm a bit afraid to go in that other thread. ;)

I went to Tulane, but I honestly do not feel at home there anymore. I live in Gretna, have an awesome cigar shoppe to go to here and my story (ies) will probably be coming out of there- but with an added fantasy twist. Just a hello and a hi more to come later.

Well since I was just a grad student there, I can't say I ever really felt at home the way I did at USM, when I got my B.S. However, I live really close to Tulane so that is its advantage, I guess.

OK, so I've decided I want to go for it this year. I finished it in '05, but I was evacuated in Boston then. I've never done NaNo in New Orleans. Is anyone in NOLA planning to get together? (I also live very near Tulane, but am slightly older than that crowd and only went there for an abortive 1L year of law school. :-P)

yeah i was thinking about going to the meetup on thursday as well but i don't go to tulane and i think i would probably be out of place among that group since i'm not headed to college for another two years. if anyone wants to get together or come to the meeting thursday i'll probably be lurking in the back somewhere with my laptop. i hope to see someone there.

I'm going to the meeting at Tulane tonight. Is anyone else not currently enrolled going?

Yeah, so the Tulane NaNo posts kinda intimidates me. So what? *trying to sound tough here*

I had absolutely no idea this existed until my friend from Kentucky told me. Walking in blind here - but I figure that's okay.

Anybody else here from Xavier?

Haha. Does it matter if we go/went to Tulane or not? I graduated from Loyola in 2004. Since our college does that cooperative thing with Tulane, does that make us partial honorary members? haha

I just got around to re-registering this year.

Finished Tulane Grad school for Art History a few years ago, and this is my first year for NaNoWriMo. The last two years I was always in the middle of writing something else and too busy to try for 50K words of something else.
Good to see so many people from the region are participating.

I guess somebody has to represent the Northshore....although, I have no idea what I am getting myself into, this is totally a spontaneous thing. I cant wait to read whatever crap of a novel I end up writing.

I'm on the Northshore, too! Just moved here in September. I was starting to think I was the only one!

Hi I guess I'm the Metairie contingent. It's amazing to see how many people are doing this.

I'm not from Metairie, but I spend time there quite often. I'm preaching at a church there on the 23rd.

Good luck as you plow ahead with the writing!
