The South Bay Meet and Greet will be Monday, October 20, from 7 to 9pm at Round Table Pizza, 860 Old San Francisco Road in Sunnyvale.

Please join us for an opportunity to meet one another, catch up with old friends, talk about novel ideas (or lack thereof), and generally get excited about November. Show up when you can, buy some pizza, get some NaNo swag, and have a casual good time. Around 8:00, we'll get a tiny bit less casual and give everyone the opportunity to introduce themselves, Ian will make an inspirational speech, and we'll have a raffle for some seriously cool door prizes.

Those details again:

No need to RSVP. We'll see you there!

FYI, there will not be a Pan-Bay kickoff party in San Francisco this year. The staff at NaNoWriMo headquarters is so busy running the 10th year of NaNo that they decided to leave pre-November celebrations in the hands of the local Bay Area regions. There will, however, be a HQ-hosted Thank God It's Over party when the month ends, and we'll let you know those details as soon as we have them.

Aw, that's kind of sad. I was looking forward to the Pan-Bay kickoff.

I may or may not be able to come, depending on whether or not one of my professors lets me out early. <_< >_>

10 th year anniversary without a kick off party - that sucks. Who had that glorious idea?
Will try but probably won't make it on Oct. 20. Need to find someone babysitting and it is an hour ride one way from Gilroy for a 2 hour kick off. Lots of carbon footprint and gas money.

Will likely be there -- it's a hop, skip and jump from my place so really have no excuse. First meet/greet for me; this year I'm determined to do better in the competition (Real Life threw me some curve balls the last couple of Novembers).

Small infant, husband working late, self a no-show. Sadness abounds.

I'll hopefully see you all at write-ins to come, with or without appendage sprog!

Wow! That was surprisingly ... crowded! :-) Great fun though, and I'm glad I could meet at least a few people, squeezed into the corner table there!

Awesome talking to people! Both those I've seen from years past, and writers starting new this year...

Next year we may have to take over the main room! 55+ people? Wow!

BTW how much did we raise? Was Chris foiled in his attempt to beat Ian?

I had a great time, but alas it was so crowded that I only got to say Hi to a few people before mingling became well-nigh impossible.
