Hi, everyone.
We're hoping to have a couple Meet and Greets in the coming weeks. For those of you who are just joining us, a Meet and Greet is just what it sounds like. It gives your MLs a chance to greet you, and gives you a chance to meet us and the other participants. It's a fun way to see who else is participating, get a drink or a bite to eat, and (most importantly) get psyched for November.
Last year, I believe we did one on a weekend afternoon, and one on a weekday evening in order to accommodate as many people's schedules as possible. So, this year, we are tentatively looking at Monday the 20th and Sunday the 26th.
Do these days sound like they would work for most of you? What time sounds best? Do you have a suggestion for a restaurant or watering hole where you would like to meet? (Please keep in mind that, since we do have participants of all ages, venues should also be open to all ages, so coffee shops are generally preferable to bars.)
Now is the time to speak up, before the schedule is set! Click "Reply" to post your ideas or preferences here.

20th sounds good for Lisa and me. The 26th is good, as long as it's early enough so that when Lisa has to leave at 3:30ish she'll have already have had time to be there for a while. How about lunch on the 26th, starting at 11:30 or noonish?

Both dates are OK for me. I like the mid-day on Saturday idea (noonish for lunch). Monday could be dinner (6:30?) or coffee after (7:30?)
Looking forward to seeing everyone!

The 26th is free for me, although I won't vouch for my ability to show up anywhere in anything like a decent state. We have a shindig the night before that is traditionally a rather late night for me... The 20th probably won't work as I work Monday nights at our CSA.

I can practically guarantee I won't be at either if those days are what they are. Sorry, dudes, I work both evenings.

What days/ times *do* work for you?
Also, on the 26th, we're not looking at an evening meet-n-greet, but something closer to lunch. Might that work for you?

If we're doing lunch/brunch/something early on 26 October, my other half and I might be able to make it. That's a packed day for me, and I'm hosting a party starting at three.
And for 20 October, since it's a Monday, I presume we're planning dinner or evening coffee or the like? This one might be even easier for us to make, as long as it's somewhere pretty inexpensive.

I can do either. Monday I can't do anything until after 5, but Sunday is free as far as I know now.
----------I think I'd prefer a lunchish Sunday, as that has me at apogee from anything work-related to numb my brain.

Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays all work fine - I can probably finagle Wednesdays. As for lunch-type thing, I leave FoCo on Sundays around 11:45, so depending on what time "lunch" is, I might be able to show for the 26th.

If we're choosing from Thursday, Friday, or Saturday, I vote Saturday -- possibly instead of Sunday, so that we still have one on the weekend, the other on a weekday evening, to accommodate as many people as possible between the two.

I can probably do either. Monday it'd have to be later - like dinner or whatever. Sunday, I might have to show up late. If we're talking lunch like 11:30 or 12:00, then my family will have to finish church first, but then I could be there (provided I'm able to get transportation).

Both of those work for me. I'd have to do them after 5pm on both days, since I work. Dinner or coffee would be fantastic for either of them. I'd love to get out there and meet everyone new, or see people again! I don't care where. I'm not that picky.

For Monday, the 20th, let's plan for 7pm - 9pm.
We're still deciding on a place, but we'll announce that in the next few days. The details will be posted here as well as the other dedicated thread to 1st Meet-n-greet.

I don't think I can make either time :( I'm going to Orlando for a conference the 18th and I get back late in the afternoon on the 26th.

If you let folks here know where you're coming from and to what events you need rides, there's a pretty good chance someone will step up and help. We're a friendly bunch.
Actually - I'm about to start a thread specifically for carpooling requests/ organization, so you can post there. :)
