I'm Katherine (Katie), and I live in the McKinleyville area. It's nice to see some "local" people here at the WriMo!

It's sure windy today where I am. I bet the sea is wonderfully rough where you are, Jamie? Or has it started to get big swells yet?

Good luck to you, friend!

Ok, so I already met Ingy where I goofed and made another Humb. Co. link before I saw this one.

Hi Jamie!

last year we had a regional moderator or something, so hopefully he'll show up again and be organized. Not me.

By the way, I'm in Mck. also!

Hopefully a few more will straggle in before the 1st.

Hola fellow Humboldt-dwellers! Name's Alex, and I'm down here on 36 -- Hydesville, to be exact, so not that far out, I guess. Glad to see a little activity going on in the forum. :)

We're certainly headed into winter, aren't we? I hope we don't get another smack of snow, like we did in January. My power was out all night, and I couldn't get down my hill the next morning. Did you guys get that up by Mack, too?

Hey, Jaime...I was the Liason for this area last year. THey haven't contacted me to say whether I'm doing it this year. Still, welcome. I'll be trying to get some "write-outs" going in the HC. It's a bit of a drive from CC but if you know of a place up there that's good for such things, let me know and I'll contact them.

okay, folks, sorry. I"ve been up to some life stuff lately and haven't had time to log on.

I was the liason last year and, until they tell me someone else is doing it, I'll try to arrange some write outs again this year. I hope to have at least one per week in the HC.

Last year we did Borders; Old Town Coffee and Chocolates; and Mosgo's. Anyone feel like doing at least one at the Ramone's in Mickeyville? They have free wifi.

Let me know. Email me through the NaNOWriMo site.

Hello, I'm from Eureka.
This is my first NaNoWriMo! I just signed up, so I was pleasantly surprised that there was a Humboldt County group!

Good to see you back, McBruce!

If I can get my laptop going I'll be looking to do some write-ins.

Hey,

I'm from Arcata, hoping to get some of this crap in my head down on the ol' digital paper. I'm going to a conference in DC for a week right in the middle of November, sans laptop, so I hope I have the time and motivation to finish it. :)

Well, I still haven't heard from Nanowrimo but I'm assuming no one else is acting as Municipal Liason this year so I'm going to make calls this week to schedule some write outs.

I'm thinking of the following locations:

Old Town Coffee & Chocolates
Mosgo's in Arcata
Ramone's in McKinleyville

I'm thinking we'll have one or two write outs on Satruday afternoons; one or two on a weeknight.

If anyone has any further suggestions, please let me know.

First Write-out:

Old Town Coffee & Chocolates on F Street in Old Town
Saturday, Nov 8 from 2-4 p.m.

It has wifi, so you can update your nanowrimo word count.

See you there!

This is Katherine. I'm in Arcata as well. Great to see there's people out there in other places in Humboldt!

Anyone care to venture a guess as to how many of us there actually are here? Is there a way to tell that?

I'm there ;)

I won last year but, unfortunately possess a mind like a steel sieve, lost my old account information so I set up a new one ;)
I did manage to find the icon I used last year...**sigh**. I guess that shows what's really important.
See everyone at the coffee shop.

Sorry to have missed the write-out. I was off in the woods of Arcata having adventures in the rain instead. :D
I'll definitely try to get to the next one though.

Hi everyone! How are things coming along?

Any idea if/when the next write-in will be?
