All right, so I'm not a total idiot. I just go the email that we have a forum two days ago. I feared I wasn't crawling the forums deeply enough and had missed our poor Centre County. But all is well.
So, where should we kick off? I'm completely open to suggestions. I would prefer somewhere close to downtown State College (read: within walking distance) for those of us who don't have cars. I don't think we're going to try Websters again because of the miscommunication we had the last time. However, future write-ins may take place there as I love that store to death.
I was thinking Redifer Commons (south halls). They have that nice little cafe thing (overpriced, but there is coffee!) and it's not as crowded as the HUB, so it won't be as loud, and it's fairly open. Remember, this will be Halloween night, and it is a Friday. Lots of people out and about going to parties and what not.

I live in West and I would rather prefer a more central location than South Halls. I mean, I could grab a bus to get there, but dunno, I think I'd get lost around there as I'm not familiar with the place.

One of the out of the way study areas of the HUB may well be our best bet. It may be a bit loud in the more central areas (Late Night and Halloween and whatnot), but if we can find a place, that'd be it. It's also open 24/7, so we won't be getting kicked out. I dunno about the Commons and if/when they close, but I seem to remember them turning the lights off in East back when I lived there.

Well, my offer from last year stands as well. If you would like I can serve as an escort if you need. This goes for anywhere that we meet.

The commons won't kick us out. The seating area in front of the cafe is open 24/7 as well. Kids have to walk through it to get back to their dorms and what not.

I wouldn't mind going along with another person. It also helps me make sure I don't actually flake out on it. :P

Webster's is my personal favorite place in town. But I also do not live in town, so it doesn't matter where the location is. I may not be able to join you all, anyway if we are starting at midnight, even though I would like to. I wish CATA had later bus schedules!

I think it's just going to be in the HUB. The HUB has the parking deck right next to it for people with cars, and it's centrally located. We just have to sneak off into one of the quiet areas, or maybe even one of the top floors. Hmm... I wonder if I can wrangle that...
Failing that, I have keys to various buildings on campus. :D

I don't think I'll be able to make it to kick-off either, though I will be in State that night... we're going to see Kelly Clarkson and Reba at the BJC on Halloween. We'll definitely be at future events, though!

Awww. I have to drive to Philly at 5am Saturday morning. I am so not looking forward to it. XD There will be other write-ins, don't worry!

I'm sorry to say that me and Elystriana won't be able to come, as we are going to our grandparent's early the next morning. I hope to make it to later ones though!

Is the group kick-off still happening, what with all of the people who have said that they can't make it? If so, I'll try to get there. It'll be at the HUB, right? My attendance will likely depend on how much alcohol I imbibe (if any) at my friend's Halloween party beforehand.
If it's at Redifer Commons after all, I probably won't be there. I was a food-service employee there for a short period of time, and it didn't go well. I'd be a little bit leery of running into former coworkers <.< >.>
In any case, whether I make it or not, I'm sure that it will be a blast! And I'll definitely come to at least a few meetups throughout the month.

Last i heard it's still happening, in the HUB somewhere location TBD. We're looking to meet up with Tresa at the entrance she mentioned in her post.

Hah! I used to work there too. Good times...
not...It will be in the HUB. Are you signed up to receive emails from me? I sent out two so far, and will be sending one out tomorrow to firm up the plans for the kick-off.

I am not signed up to receive e-mails from you. How should I go about correcting that? I haven't spent much time on this site yet, so I admit that I'm still in the dark about how a lot of things work here...
In any case, yay! I look forward to meeting people in person ^_^

Unfortunately, I won't be able to attend the kick-off; midnight is too late for me these days (I'm seven months pregnant). But have fun! Hopefully I can join you at other get-togethers.

Ooh. Oooooooh. I might abuse your child-bearing status because one of the characters in my novel is pregnant. *puppy eyes*
We definitely hope to see you at future get togethers! Good luck in November.

Just to clarify: We are meeting at midnight in the HUB, right? Where exactly should we be looking for each other?

Well, I'm still not sure where exactly in the HUB we're supposed to meet, but I'm getting ready to head out now. I've managed to talk a friend of mine into participating in NaNo this year as well, so she'll be coming with me.
I'll be wearing white animal ears, a red shirt, and a fluffy tail made from a feather boa, as well as carrying a rather large Asian Ball Jointed Doll. She'll be the one in a pirate outfit, with a really impressive plumed hat. Hard to miss us XD
Hope we see you folks there! If not, we'll just kick off somewhere in the building by ourselves.

THis is my post to see if my timezone is right.
