Why the heck not? A place to talk about the Night of Writing Dangerously Write-a-thon! Who's raising money, how are you doing it, how awesome was it last year?
The event is Saturday, November 15, 6-11pm at SomArts, 934 Brannan St, San Francisco. You must raise $200 by November 10 to attend. All the other details are here.

Me again. I just set up my Firstgiving page and found that someone among us created a South Bay team for NoWD fundraising, so I joined that. More ways to show off the fact that the South Bay is the greatest region anywhere!

A great way to raise funds!

All righty then, I joined the South Bay team, too!
Sadly, though, this is a tough time to be fundraising... I tried to sweeten the pot a little by offering any sponsors the chance to specify one item, character, location, or event which I would work into my novel. (And I've already got ideas for the requests made so far, whew! One of them will be part of the way in which I off Cliff Brooks this year, heh.) In addition, I'm offering to make a loan to an entrepreneur at Kiva.org in honor of each sponsor.
Doing good and influencing my novel while doing even MORE good by donating to the Office of Letters and Light! I hope it might sway some of the fence-sitters among my acquaintances.
I've been annoying my facebook friends by having my status point to firstgiving for most of the last week. I don't think that actually convinced anyone, though.....
I'll add that the NoWD is totally and completely awesome, and I hope we can all make the fundraising deadline so we can attend. Thinking good thoughts!!

I sent my RSVP a couple days ago! I hope to be seeing some of you South Bay NaNos there!

Can we figure out some way to identify each other as South Bay NaNos at this event, and maybe have an all-South-Bay photo taken together? I'll try to dig out my light lime green "Killing Cliff Brooks for Dummies" t-shirt for the event (although maybe the 10-year anniversary NaNo special t-shirt would be more appropriate).
If we don't work something out ahead of time, I may snag the microphone there long enough to call for an intra-write-in meet-up. (I'm lovin' those hyphens tonight, but note: I am putting them HERE, in a forum post, and not THERE, in my novel.)
back to writing!

I have a bunch of glow bracelets, courtesy of Simon, which I will bring. The South Bay can festoon ourselves with those (though will it be mean to not share with others?). Look out for the glowy people at the NoWD!

Hey ya'll this is Tamara from the write-a-thon! Just wanted to extend a belated thank you to you all for being so hospitable and fun at the write in. I'm going to set up a web site to show my pics and share my experiences whenever I get my dang word count caught up. Sad to say the adventure was totally worth it but I've been behind on my count ever since. That's okay, I usually sprint toward the finish while still finishing a couple days early. :)

Hey there, Tamara! It was great to meet you at the NoWD, and I look forward to seeing your photos. You're not that behind in word count at all!
