I'm gonna be doing horror, with a mix of comedy. No matter what I do, I can't get away from the comedy.

I was gonna be doing a fantasy thing I've been thinking of for a while, but, for whatever reason, the Werewolves started howling.

And there you go...

What about you?

Huh. I'm doing a fantasy War story. My plot synopsis is already written. If you go to my website, you can find more information about it, but basically this is it:

Two large countries and two small countries make up the world. The larger ones are at war where the smaller ones are mad 'cause they're stuck between 'em. World is almost destroyed 'cause of power hungry Empire. :-)

Teehee.

I am basically playing it by ear. The basic idea comes from something I did for a short thing I did for a critique group while deciding if I knew how to write fantasy. But It will be from scratch from word one, and my goal is 3 weeks for 50,000 words.

I'm doing a werewolf story of my own. I've done two vampire stories, a time-travel story, and something else that I can't remember for the previous NaNos, so I suppose it was only a matter of time that I would get to werewolves.

I think I'm doing a post-apocalyptic horror with a vampire heroine. (I can't seem to get away from vampires. Hmmmm)

The story is growing so large, the heroine won't leave me alone, and I've only written a few brief notes, that if November 1st doesn't get here...

I'm writing about a woman assassin during wartime who tries to save the people being oppressed with the help of her friends and older brother. She's somewhat a vampire (a vampire with deluded/sick blood) with an illness that seems to be mysteriously attacking only certain groups of people.
And somewhere in there she finds love and betrayl.

I'm the boring one. :) I'm doing a chick lit book about 3 women having to make decisions about thier lives. Inspiration came from the fact that when all my friends turned 30 all of them kind of went a little nutty and started asking themselves how they got to the life they had. Several of them dyed thier hair weird colors, a couple went back to school, and one divorced her husband. Anyway, my book will be about how unconscious choices can lead to disaster, and only conscious choices can lead to true happiness.

Sounds interesting. Lol though personally I believe strongly in intuition and *unconscious* choices and their ability to lead you to things you didn't even know you wanted/ needed/ could have. And, sadly, many conscious choices to not get you what you thought they would.

I'm doing a romantic suspense. I think. Or it's adventure with some romance thrown in. And horses. And dogs. And escaped prisoner(s). And a man in tight-fittin' jeans.

Hmmm. Not much plot here, but lots of characters! And not a vampire or werewolf anywhere. Yet.

I can't wait to get started!

Havn't quite decided yet, but I've been really wanting to do a story that I started years ago when I was 12-13, but it's something that I care about so I probably won't go there.

I'm seriously toying with the idea of something involving the first D&D party that I was involved in. We had some wonderful characters in there. It was a blast to play, and I would love to revisit those characters.

Thats true! There is a big need for spontanaeity and intuition in everyone's life, and no one can plan out thier lives in every detail.

By conscious choices I mean figuring what you want in life and then making the changes you need to get there (like me signing up for Nano because I need a kick in the pants to get writing again). I think a lot of people get into trouble because they just go through the motions of life and get stuck in ruts and then are miserable all because they never really thought about what they were doing with their lives. That is what my book is going to be about. These women are going to be faced with the fact that they never thought about what they were doing with thier lives and now they have to make some choices about what they want thier futures to be.

I'm doing a series of journal entries, i guess. Their written by a seventeen yr. old girl whose parents just got divorced and she's had to move to a small town in Alabama with her mom from New York. And its driving her crazy.

not much right now, but it'll get there.

Thanks Sandy. I definitely don't take any offense to your comments. Let your husband know I appreciate his concern though :)

Thanks for the luck wishes, and I'm sending some your way as well. Here's to 50,000 words in November!

Looking at another round of crime fiction or something
Reno tied into it somehow.
Story will revolve around baseball, main character just graduated college..... same main character from last year... only like 15 years younger.
Or something like that
its bound to change a bit

As for what I'm writing, I have not pinned (or is that penned) it down yet. It will either be about a writer who *is not* all that interested in writing--or is that *is* interested? There either will or won't be vampires. Probably won't since I'm not much into vampires. It may or may not have a bit of supernatural elements and could have some magic. Then again, maybe not. There is also the possibility that there may or may not be a touch of sci-fi in the mix. Anyway, that's what I will or will not be writing this time out. In short, I'm clueless! HELP!!! LOL

In all seriousnes, I'm thinking about doing several inter-related short stories since I have found over the years that my attention span is not quite up to pulling off a whole novel. I'm working on it....oh, look--a plot bunny! ;-) Gotta run.

I'm writing a traditional fantasy again - at least that's the plan right now. It's based on a world I started building years ago but never moved forward with. It started as a campaign setting I was designing for use in D&D, so I have the world, history, culture, religion and the beginnings of characters...everything but a plot. :) I'm planning on spending the next fortnight brainstorming like crazy.

And if this idea stops sounding fun, I guess I'll figure something else out.

Yours,
Helga

I'm going to be writing a fantasy, but to shake things up a bit, it's going to have a series of tragic twists. oh yeah...I'm totally pumped up this year!

I never wrote on one topic long enough for it to be anything more than mere rambling... i'm so excited, both for the underdog success and the expected failure!

Ha, I have changed my mind! The first idea just wasn't coming together - so many of my ideas only take off when I've got a sort of friction between more than one source of inspiration, and as much as I still love that world and the character ideas I have it was missing something that would have turned it into a complete novel concept. So I started over, generated some stuff randomly and found a way to tie the new stuff into an idea I first had over 15 years ago which I'd given up on.

So now I'm writing a mythic urban fantasy. We'll see how many more times I change my mind before November actually starts. :p

I usually write fantasy.

This year I am writing a paranormal romance.

It's the second novel I write that was inspired by a dream.

recca, mine could be your story 20 years later. Life is living with your choices. An unplanned pregnancy and a choice that haunts her the rest of her life. My characters are all in their fifties.
