Woohoo, found you guys. So, anyone else thinking they're crazy for signing up for this madness?
My son signed up for the jr site- he'll turn 13 during it and *reads* fanfiction but hates writing in general. His goal is 5000 words. Like I said on the list, I'm probably going to go with a bunny that bit me awhile back, I wrote an intro to it, but not really any story. I promise not to add the intro to my count- even on the last day when I'm short ;)

You did better than my first year, got 16,000+ that year. *Did* managed to get to 25,000+ last year but then again that was Lost Son soooo....... For those who didn't see it over on the Sylum thread; this year I'm hoping to do a complete revamp of first year's fic. (Fullmetal Alchemist AU) And I do mean *complete* revamp. The only things that are the same are the characters and the very basic bunny. And even some of the characters have been touched up a bit. Age/situation changes and the like. So we'll see if they like this version of the bunny any better.

Drags self in tripping over bunnies picking locks on their cages and my own feet and drops into the nearest empty beanbag chair.
Well, I'm here cause I had a bunny appear howling in my ear thanks to the recent discussion of adding characters to the clan and the smartass throwaway line I had about Eureka being it's own clan. That morphed into a bunny where Eureka is a protected sanctuary for magical beings/others where only those with the gene would be able to see the town and what happened when Jack and Zoe arrived in Eureka.
Our fearless leader asked me if that was going to be my nanowrimo and being a glutton for punishment, I signed up. I know there's not a chance in h e double hockeysticks of getting to fifty thousand words, but hopefully the bunny stays with me instead of going neener neener nyah nyah, mooning me, and taking off hiding.

You could do what some people are doing, work on more than one story. becuase not everyone can write 50K in one story. so two or three smaller ones would still get your word count, and if they're connected.... it's a trilogy.

Three days to go! So what's everyone's plans for Saturday? I'll be taking my son to the fair in the afternoon after we go to services, so I don't think I'll get to actually write anything until that night, or maybe Sunday. Not the best start, especially since I also have a final paper due Monday, an accounting exam Monday and a speech to give on Tuesday- maybe I should do it on persuading people to join NaNoWriMo- and yes, those have to take priority.

Well, my Sat. is going to hopefully consist of writing, writing and more writing. *giggle* Though some of it may not be on NaNo. I have two, count them *two*, Intro to Criminal Justice papers due in the middle of Nov. *glares towards Miami* Thanks ever so much, Horatio! *grumble ass grumble* I'm soooo glad that Nov. 1st fell on a Sat. this year. Can just stay up from waking up for school on this time. Course I wasn't trying to juggle this and school the first two times so that should be interesting. *cackle* Thankfully my after school job consists of sitting on my butt for three hours, four days a week doing nothing because the museum is to small to get visitors or calls. *BEG*

I'm doing what i attempted to last year before the original muse crashed and burned. i'm doing one original one, which i'm not sure can be 50K words or not, and one fanfic one. i do encourage all of us to put our nano stories, 50K met or finished or not, on the automated archive and the list so others can enjoy our insanity.

I've gone and done it already. Done what? you asked. Threw out the story I was working on and started a new one. Okay, I didn't actually throw out the first story, just pushed it to the side a bit. A fanfic idea hit me and so far in one day I'm up to what it took a couple in the other story. So new story and I just might post a excerpt from it.
