Hi! This is my second attempt at NaNo. I was just wondering if there was anyone in or around the Powell County area?

Hi Josh,
My name is Christy. I'm so glad that there is someone else in the area participating this year. Hopefully we can encourage each other.
Good Luck!

Hi, Josh and Christy!
My name is Kelly and I live in Clay City. I'm really happy that there are other writers in Powell County! Myself, my friend, and my sister are all in Powell County, and we're doing National Novel Writing Month, too. I wish you two the best of luck!

Hey Kelly!
I'm glad that you, your sister and your friend are doing Nano this year. Makes me feel not so alone here in the county with you all and Josh. Maybe we could do a kickoff party or a write in this Nov. That would be awesome!
Good Luck with the Novel!!

I'm in Lee County, which isn't too far away. I think I'm either one of the few, or the only one here.

Hi Jester! Glad to have you here. LOL on feeling lonely, that was me here last year. If you'd like to get together to do a write in, I would really like that. If anyone else here is interested, just let me know. I don't have a laptop, but I have a couple of Alphasmarts. Well, good luck everyone!!

I'd LOVE to do a write-in sometime. I do have a laptop, and an alphasmart, although, I can't find the infrared thingy that goes with it.

I still have no plot, and no characters, with less than 2 hours to go. Should be interesting to see what comes out when I actually start typing. Hehe

We'll have to try to plan something then, Jester.
Any ideas at all about what you'll be writing? What genre?
I'm doing Young Adult Fantasy this year. Last year, it was a romantic suspense. Big change, huh?
I really enjoyed the Harry Potter series, the Twilight Series, and The Inheritance Series. I read lots of Young Adult fantasy with my kids, so I thought I'd give it a shot. So far, with all my planning, my plot and characters seem pretty strong. I guess I'll see in a little while.
Feel free to add me to your buddy list if you'd like.
Let me know when you'd like to try to get together. I'm a stay at home mom, so I'm free most any time. LOL!
Good Luck Nanoing!

Hi Christy, I've added you to my buddy list. You're welcome to add me to yours as well.

As far as what I'm writing about . . . I've started at least 6 different things so far, but none of them are anything I like. The last 2 years I've written Fantasy, but this year my muse has gone AWOL. I'm hoping she gets back in time for me to try and get 50k done!! One of the stories I tried to start, my MC decided she needed to live at home, and have a younger brother. Another, I decided I really didn't like the MC, and on a 3rd, I tried typing "It was a dark and stormy night", just to see what came out! Amazing how desperate I am.

I've enjoyed the HarryPotter series, and the Twilight Series, and I'm working my way through the 3rd of the Inkspell Trilogy right now.

I work at an elementary school, full time, so I'm available weekends and evenings, except for Days we have off. I'll try to PM you, but I'm having a terrible time getting logged in, and posting. Seems everyone is on the site today. :-P So it goes the first official day, and with a slow connection.

Good Luck
Jester

I see everyone's writing like mad dogs. I just dropped in to say hey and to see how frantic everyone is. The site obviously has low bandwidth with everyone on at once. It's so slow. (ugh!)

Well, happy writing!

-Josh
