Well, folks, I'm just trying to get an idea of everyone's schedules. I know there's no way I can accomodate absolutely everyone, but I'd like to give it my best shot.
Our usual haunts include the Red Cup (at NW 31st and Classen) and Cafe Bella (at SW 89th and Penn). We've tragically lost Sober Grounds and Red Moon since last year, so if anyone knows of any great meeting places, please chime in! We're especially needing locations in the north, west, and east. I'd like to hold meet-ups in as many different parts of the city as possible, since we're all so spread out.
I'm available to organize meetings all day on weekends and in the evenings on every weekday but Tuesday. In years past, we've had our twice-weekly meetings on Saturdays at 3 and on Wednesdays at 7. If someone would like to organize a meeting at some time other than the regularly schedule meet-ups, just leave a post and I'll get it on the regional calendar.
Anyway, here's your place to chime in about your best meeting times, favorite places to meet, and any ideas for those upcoming meetings. Once I've got a better idea of what we're all needing and wanting, I'll get the regular meetings scheduled, and add any extras y'all want to tackle youselves.

I'm just going to throw my schedule out there FYI:
Evenings and weekends are tough for me because that's when my family is home and needs attention. They're worse than pets. :) Monday and Wednesday evernings are definitely out, but I could perhaps sneak out on a Tuesday or Thursday a couple times in November. Maybe a Saturday when OU is playing football. No one ever misses me then as long as I leave snacks handy.
My weekdays early in the week are generally pretty hectic; Thursday and Friday slow down and I have a little more free time, which is probably when I'll be doing the bulk of my writing. I thought I read about someone else who was interested in meeting during the day and I could possibly do that, especially if it was in the Midwest City area. The Library has some nice large desks where I generally park with my laptop. Then there's the shopping center on 29th with Starbucks and Panera Bread....
One other thing, I host a free hour-long weekly writers chat online at 1:30 on Thursday afternoons (http://www.smalladdictions.com/Skateboard - click on the Roundtable chatroom link on the left sidebar). We'll be using the first half of the hour to talk/brainstorm and the last half hour to write for the month of November. So if anyone is interested in joining us then, they'd be more than welcome. Our group has gotten a little thin lately and we'd love to have more people join us.
Guess that's it. :)

Wednesday nights are out for me. Saturdays are fine. I can probably sneak away on Tuesday nights, if so, I can host a weekly meet-up in NW OKC every Tuesday night.......I'll find a coffee shop that will suffice.
I still can't do Panera....so if the Saturday meetings could be NOT at Panera that would be awesome.

I was actually thinking along the same lines as for the shopping center. I live maybe 5 miles away from there so it would be really easy to drive up there at any time (as long as I'm not at work of course lol). There is also the Ihop on Air Depot. I'm not sure if that would work or not but just an idea.
As for my schedule I can meet anytime before 4, 5 if I don't have to drive too far, on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. I can meet after 6 on Sundays and Mondays. Also I can meet anytime on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. My schedule might change sometime during November but that is how it stands for right now and for as long as I can see at the moment.

Anywhere in the MWC area is okay for me. I'm usually free on Monday, Tuesday, and Wensday afternoons. Thursday - Sundays are iffy for me thanks to work.
Panera Bread would be my first choice with the library a close second. The Mazzio's Pizza on 15th, in the little shopping center, is actually pretty good to work in, if you don't mind the noise. Me and a Friend went there one night to do homework when Panera Bread closed on us (we didn't know their schedule at the time.)

Hi Jasmine! Is Norman considered a part of the OKC region? I really don't get out of Norman much. But, I truly want to meet up with other NaNoWriMo writers for this season. I know you have busy schedule as I do. Presently, I'm sitting at barnes and noble in Norman, sipping on a starbucks' coffee, at the back of the bar, getting ready to read another chapter of "No Plot, No Problem". I'll be here until about 3 or 4PM, if anyone does want to join me feel free to do so. My son and I will try to be there Saturday for the gathering. Where, exactly is it going to take place?
Believing in success in 2008!

I think, from what I saw before, that our schedules are pretty completely conflicted, Virginia. However, the meeting on Saturday is at the Red Cup, at 31st and Classen (there's a map here).
I think that Norman could very easily be considered its own region...it's probably too late this year, but someone could volunteer to ML there. I'll happily welcome anyone from outside of OKC proper who wants to home here...or just affiliate with this region. I think Norman is considered part of the Greater Oklahoma City Area anyway... Anyone who wants to come to any of the meetings is quite welcome, and I'll make sure that some of the meetings through November are at least on the south side of town, so it won't be such a drive.
Just remember to look for the lunatics with the cauldron in the middle of the table. That'll be us. :)

Well, it's high time I got on the ball here. I'm going to spend a bit of time updating our regional calendar with our newly announced kick-off party and the meetups for the month of November.
For now, I'm going to leave off the Thank God It's Over Party. We can make the big decisions about that later in the month.
So, check out the regional calendar for the meet ups, and if you'd like to put something together, give me a yell and I'll get 'em up.
I hope I get to see lots of you guys there.

I'm not sure if it's too late, but I thought I'd throw in my crazy scheduling! I won't be able to attend any of the meetings, except for the one on the third Saturday. I work from 5pm-9pm Monday - Friday and 8am - 9pm Saturdays. I have every third Saturday off. If anyone else has insane scheduling like mine, and could meet during the days, I'd be willing to see if I can find us some places to meet up :)
If not, then I'll at least get to see you guys once this year! I'm going to do my very, very best to make it to the kick-off party!

Cricket, I know it's short notice, but, if you want to and if you have time, maybe you could put on the calendar that I'm will be meeting in Norman tomorrow evening (Thursday 10/23) at 7pm 'til whenever at Barnes and Noble. I'll have a "NaNoWriMo" sign on the table by me, either in the cafe area or in one of the sitting areas. Would be nice to meet some local people who are going to dedicate themselves to writing thier way through November. Maybe we can schedule some "write-ins", and other get togethers in Norman.
Thanks a bunch!

Well, folks, I think I have November's schedule up and finished.
Whatever you saw there earlier may have changed by this time, so be sure to check back. I tried to get the meetings in as many places around the city as I could.
And, of course, if anyone would like to set up a meeting and would like it on the calendar, just let me know and I'll get it up as soon as I can.
Today, I made a trip by the City Bites that is now located where Red Moon was--and it's still a perfect place for meeting. Their hours don't make them very good for week day meetings, but they're definitely still good for Saturdays.
I've also got links to the websites for a few of our usual haunts.

Jasmine --
I think I've finally gotten my 'no response' problems worked out and will be getting all our OKC and NaNo mailings from now on. Thanks for setting me straight.
I've been meaning to write and say that the Red Moon/City Bites place is WiFi friendly and look forward to seeing some of you there again. And now that I finally know where the Red Cup is, possibly there, too!
So... where is our Nov. 1 gathering going to be? Like... we're not all supposed to be writing away madly, in that first day rush of adrenalin? (Ha, ha!)
And I'm now wondering... why the #$^#%^#%^ am I doing this again?
Hugs to all, Clem

I swear I've responded to this a million years ago but it's not showing so~
I'm still here again this year, and my schedule is great, but I'm way up on north side. If you remember I actually live right next to that cute little cafe we went to a few times last year, way down near Memorial and I think Hefner or what-have-you so I'm not going to kill my car heading out to MWC or anything like that (but I can sit out a few times, y'know). Scheduling isn't a problem, just distance.
Anyways, lookin' forward to seein' you guys this year. <3

I'm another NaNoer in the MWC/DC area, and would love to crash into some of the other people around here.
My schedule is pretty hectic. Suffice to say, Monday evenings and Thursday evenings are available, Saturday and Sunday evenings are available. Otherwise, I'll be at the PetSmart off of I-240, training dogs. You can probably find me there frantically scribbling in a pocket-size memo book when I'm not teaching class.
If I'm not there, I'm probably at Starbucks or Panera, typing on the lappy with a huge mug of Orange Pekoe or Earl Grey tea at my elbow, living under the constant threat of spilling tea everywhere when inspiration strikes.
Where is the regional calendar of meetups located, by-the-by? I have no idea!

I'm going to try to make it on Saturday but I won't be able to start HEADING to that side of town until about three so I'm going to be fashionably late. And I don't have a laptop this year so it's notebookin'. I'll see you guys there!
Edit: By which I mean I'm going to try to make it on SUNDAY. Good to see someone corrected me when I posted this two days ago! O_o

I've just now gotten around to poking around the site, so here I come stumbling in late.
Is anyone planning on turning out on the 11th for the meetup at Barnes and Nobel. If my husband is home that night, I'd like to go, though I wouldn't get there till after 6. Just wondering. And should I bring what I've written so far? And a box of Kleenex? Seems like the moment I sit down to write, something comes up.
Anyway, hope to meet some of you somehow!

Having pushed my word count into the range where I think I have a fighting chance of getting to 50,000 (though I still have almost no idea where I'm going with my story), I will try to be at Cafe Bella about 3 p.m. today. Though I also may be fashionably, or unfashionably late.

I'll be there this afternoon, and bringing a friend along as well. I'll probably have to leave early; I have to go catch my pastor before Church lets out at 7, so Tim and I can talk to him about wedding preps and the such.

Just write when you can. Some even use a tape recorder and talk into it during their commute to work and home. Then you just type it up later.
I've written on the back of deposit slips and grocery lists. I hear J. K. Rowling even wrote on napkins. We do what we have to.
Hope to see at a meet up.
