I know you're out there, guys... the ones who will NaNo at Herrell's and the Coop and the Garage... come on and say hi!

Name, age, occupation, best times for NaNo:

Name, age, occupation, best times for NaNo:
Flourish, 21, graduate student @ MIT, whenever because my schedule is so bizarre!

I'm happy I'll actually get to make it to some of the write-ins, this year.

The Au Bon Pain at Harvard Square has already agreed to let us host an event there November 11th. That location could be an excellent meeting place for wrimos to hold other events as well -- especially if you're hungry. :-)

Cheers,

Hiya! Belynda/26/Lowell Ma (right on the Comm rail) I love HS and I'd be down for some weekendy write-ins if my Lowell idea doesn't pan out.
Keep me in the loop :)

Well, let's get one started and see who can make it! I propose the first Thursday in November, and I am free that day between 10am and 4pm. Feel free to jump in and narrow that down to a smaller time frame (based on class conflicts, etc.)

Au Bon Pain is fine, but once I know how many people we're getting, a smaller place might be nicer if we fit.

I work in Harvard Square and would love to drop by for a lunch hour write-in sometime... not the most generous time slot, but every bit counts and all that! It would be a welcome midday work break.

Heather, 23, retail slave. I work in Harvard Square so I'm there most days, my availability is entirely contingent upon my hours, but I'd love to stop by for whatever write-ins I can make!

Okay, how about the first Thursday of the month, from 12-2pm? That covers a generous range of lunch options for those sneaking out of work, and hopefully won't directly conflict with anyone's class schedule. Let me know if you're in, and I'll try to pick a cool place depending on how big a group we are.

This looks like it will be a lot of fun. I've added it to the calendar with a link back to this thread for interested parties. Please let me know when you set a location so I can update the calendar.

Oh, yes, and write, write, write!

Cheers,
Travis

I'd love to meet up Thursday afternoon in Harvard square. May I suggest Cremma Cafe (just around the corner from the Gap and Bertucci's)? They have great esspresso and the ambiance is MUCH better that Au Bon Plain. Small, but not too small either.

Also, I'm in Inman Square? Anyone else? A little meet-up at 1369 would be nice!

Also, Hi! This is my first year doing this.... am a weee freaked but also psyched! Look forwards to meeting a few of you guys, although I doubt I'll be showing my face at any of the official write-ins, as they seem to conflict with work/be in places I tend to avoid.

I live down the (Beacon) street from Inman Square. I'm in Billerica during the day, but I'm close enough to Harvard and Inman Squares that I can probably go to weekday evening events there. I'm hoping that by going to write-ins/meetups, I'll actually finish this year...

First Thursday at 12 sounds great. I would second Crema (and have noticed that there seem to be an abundance of outlets on the second floor), though it might be a bit busy during lunch hours.

Petsi Pies on Putnam Ave is very writer-friendly as well.

I'll join you on at noon on Nov 6. I'll be ten minute walk from Harvard Square, so just announce a place.

Holly, 23, secre... excuse me... administrative assistant at Harvard & temporarily displaced Texan.
I'll officially root for the Petsi Pies suggestion (love their Italian sandwich!!)--seating is somewhat limited there, though.
Barring any further developments, I'll see y'all at Au Bon Pain on the 6th.

I saw Petsi Pies on Chronicle last night! (Yes, I just completely admitted that I watch Chronicle LOL!)

I'd be completely down for some tasty, wordy write-in action there!

Julia, 30, Writer

I live in Arlington, and am just a couple of T-stops away from HS. Happy to meet up on the 6th at noon. In my experience, Crema is packed at lunchtime, though. Not sure where there would be space...

If you live in Arlington, how about a write-in or whatever at that place that used to be Carberry's? (I forget what it's called now.) There is wifi, good food and coffee, lots of room and parking too. We live in Bedford, so are not too far.

Depending how many we are, I can try to stake out some space at Crema. If you're not on this list, it's because I wasn't sure, based on your previous posts, if you'd be able to make it or not. If you can't make it after all, just remove your name. But let's keep the list intact, pasted from post to post, so we don't lose track of how many we are.

Hi--to Merowsera and others, to meet at the former Carberry's in Arlington, how about Saturday, Nov. 2, at noon? Or what is a good time for you? We (nausicaa and I) are free Sunday also and at other times. This is a nice, big place by coffee shop standards with one wall all windows, free wifi, good coffee and food and phenomenal pastries. You can hang out for hours and not be out of place. Lots of free parking in the lot too. And not too far from Harvard for all of the Cambridgeites. A few stops on the bus down Mass. Ave. or five minutes by car from the square.

Two thoughts on this:

1. November 2 is a Sunday. Your MLs would really prefer you not schedule write-ins on the days of the official events (Saturdays and Tuesdays, except for the last write-in on Sunday, Nov. 30th).
2. Y'all might want to break the Arlington conversation off in a separate thread. I'll be glad to post the link to the Arlington thread in the Unofficial write-ins thread for one-stop write-in shopping. :-)

Cheers,
Travis

Hi--Sorry about the confusion. If you want to make a separate Arlington thread, that would be fine. But, to say here, we could go to Carberry's on Sunday afternoon, at 2. During the week, we could do Friday at noon.

Hi all-
My name's Betsy, I'm a 20-year-old college student (not taking classes this semester though; I'm interning at a magazine...) and I'm in Harvard Square every Thursday from 6:30-8:30. I can also get there anytime Saturdays or Sundays! I just think it would be helpful for my morale to write in a group a few times a week, and I am planning to go to some of the official Boston group's Saturday write-ins too.
So, anyone available Thursday evenings?
