Write-in: Au Bon Pain - Kendall Square, Cambridge

When: Tue, Nov 18, 7pm – 9pm

Where: 238 Main St., Cambridge, MA 02142 (Google maps link)

Description: The restaurant is located on Main Street, between Kendall Square and the Longfellow Bridge. It is near MIT.

The management and staff at this location has graciously allowed us to use their space for several hours for a write-in. Please show your appreciation by purchasing a little something (soda, snack, sandwich), so that we make it worthwhile and may be able to return in the future.

MBTA: The restaurant is near Kendall Station on the Red Line.

Driving: Follow the map link above for door-to-door directions. On-street parking is scarce in this area. A parking garage is available a few blocks away at Cambridge Center (entrance off Ames St.), but it is pricey.

Check your official Boston calendar of events for info on this and other events.

Do we need to RSVP for these? I've not been to a Write-in yet. What should I wear? How much should I plan to write?

Thanks,

Jeff

Hi Jeff--

Welcome to the insanity! I hope we'll get to meet you at the write-in today.

RSVPs are not necessary for most events; we will be sure to let you know if they ever are. Wear what you like, so long as it keeps you warm enough and is suitable for being seen in public.

That whole "how much should you plan to write" question is a tricky one. The write-ins last two hours. We have a Goal Board that we put up, where you realistically evaluate how many words you can pound out and set yourself a goal. Some people set modest goals, some people set outrageous goals. If you surpass the goal you set, you get to ring the goal bell; that's our signal to clap, cheer, and generally make you the center of attention for 10 or 15 seconds. :-)
