Okay...
*deep breath*
I hate my story. My story hates me. It had very good potential...had some amazing twists and turns that I loved to death...but...I managed to butcher it. As of now, there are ten contridicting plot lines in the story...and it just flat out hates me. I also didn't write for four days...was pretty much a walking zombie since Tuesday night until Sunday morning. So I'm stuck at 28,000 words. NaNoWriMo ends this Sunday. No one will be quiet: my brother. Although, I've tried to escape back to my room to write, but my room...I absolutely hate it. Not a good area to write at. Neither is my desk.
*exhales*
Alright. *dies* SO....I've hit a HUGE road block and I can't get past it. I really want to keep going...but I'm not going anywhere. How in the world do you keep moving forward on such a time crunch and you're so far behind? I didn't have half the distractions that I had last year...

Cassidy, honey, you've had a rough time lately so don't beat yourself up over this. You've gotten farther than I have.
To address the problem of what do you do if you hate your story, I started writing another one when I hit that and then after a little bit I was able to go back to the other one. So why not have two stories going on at the same time?

I fell behind this year, too, so now I'm frantically writing whenever I get a chance. But I'm unemployed right now and my school is online, so I have more time than most. @_@;
Fall has a good point-- sometimes switching to a different story can help your muses get back in the game, and it's a way to boost your wordcount. Just combine the two. It's slightly cheating, but at least they'll both be new.

Ninja robot space monkeys. (Yes, I've done it. Stravos remembers...)
Seriously, though. Throw in something entirely ridiculous, see how your characters react, and hope it jumpstarts something. Have fun with it.
