And by "UCF" I mean "the gaggle of bloggers who like sci-fi and picking on Internet wackos", not "University of Central Florida" (or whatever other schools use that same acronym). ;)

Did you know "Booyah" was a giant pot of soup, stirred with a canoe paddle? Of course you did, you're all writers. These are the sorts of things writers know. :)

I once ate some booyah. It was very weak. Actually, it may have just been river water. And I didn't so much "stir" it as paddle through it. I did drink some though, when the canoe tipped over...

Think I'd have to pass on trying out any booyah. More for you. Yay? :)
Any day now Jeri will stop by and we can represent even more. ;)

Jeri has apparently NOT stopped by to "booyah" or say hi or whatever the traditional NaNo forum greeting is.
However, I now have.
Hello!
I don't know if I'll be able to do 50,000 words, considering I'm also planning a major house improvement project in the basement, but I DO plan to participate. I'm hoping to set a comfortable pace that I can continue long past November, plus provide moral support to those going for the 50K (or, in Jeri's case, 100K) words.

So, apparently I'm supposed to come by here and say "booyah"?
Well, okay. Sure.
Booyah.
There.

Okay okay. I am here, and I brought root beer and vanilla ice cream to atone for being unfashionably, rudely late to the party.
Booyah is the greeting this year? Huh. I thought it was "WTF, I'm in."
I dunno about the 100K words - this year I'm still struggling with *huge* ADD issues post-loss and can barely finish a chapter of a book at a time when I *read*, much less write. I do have a great cadre of online and real life friends supporting me though - and w00t! - both boys and are doing a variant of it too! We'll be a frozen-dinner eating, happily writing, messy-nesting household.
I'm actually looking forward to pairing regular exercise and writing. If it works out as I suspect, the morning workout will give me lots of reflection and creative time to prepare for my evening writing session. At least in theory. :D

Booyah, with a healthy dose of WTF, I'm in. Still no plot, still no ideas at all, but I'm ready to give it a go now that I've got a computer up and running.

Ok, so we are now 2 days in.....Have we all started writing? Did any of you stay up to start at midnight?
----------I had a good start, just over 4000 words, and am just sitting down to start my Nov 2 writing....I hope I can keep this pace up :)

Got about 900 words in the first day and now I've started over. Twenty minutes of typing has gotten me a nice 500 words or so.
I'm really starting to wonder how much having a newborn will interfere with NaNo, probably a lot. I'm going to have to learn to type faster one-handed.

Could you get one of those frontloading sling things maybe? Then you'd have both hands free.
I had a midnight start on the 1st, but didn't write anything last night. Got sucked into a ton of online social obligations from five different communities. o.O Now I'm going around checking for replies to everything, and then I'll get back to writing.

We'll see. Last night I was able to sit cross-legged and while she dozed in my lap and type with two hands. Didn't get very far, but then I had a butt-load of chores yesterday, had to put Logan to bed, then the major grocery shop of the month, putting that all away, and then some Ava time.
Doesn't matter because I started over on my lunch break today anyway. Oh well, the NaNo engine will keep sputtering along. :)

Heh. Sadly, he did not take your admonishment to heart... but each restart has about 500 more words than the previous one. ;)
Meanwhile I'm a bit behind where I was hoping to be. I didn't get as much done today (yesterday to those of you who have slept) as I hoped because I stopped to do a job app. Friend found the ad yesterday, I noticed the due date was tomorrow. o.O It turned out to be extremely comprehensive, with a questionnaire that went on for pages and pages, many of them with essay questions. "Describe in detail every labwork experience you've ever had." T.T Took me over three hours.
Oh well, tomorrow I should be able to catch up...

"Heh. Sadly, he did not take your admonishment to heart... but each restart has about 500 more words than the previous one. ;)"
That made me laugh. And it's true, three days, three beginnings of stories. I'm feeling a little better about last night's efforts, plus it'll allow me to eventually incorporate a series of funny little things I've been writing for a couple years. Originally, I had wanted to have written enough Survival Tips so that there would be one for every day of the year, but that's a lot of Survival Tips and they get hard to write after a while. This way I'll be able to incorporate those after NaNo's done. And who knows, maybe it'll inspire me to do some more of those as well.
A little over 1,700 words yesterday, I'm hoping I can get that many or more in today.

I did almost no writing yesterday, as Bug is sick and currently using my laptop to keep her occupied in bed. She however is doing very well with her little nano....
----------All of my story is on my laptop. Maybe I should transfer it over to Keith's computer, since that seems to be the one that I have been on lately.

I've been emailing the file between work and home, but I've been thinking of sticking it on a thumb drive to carry with me.
Does anyone have cover art?

I did cover art last year, it was fun, but a definite procrastination exercise:

One of my friends is an artist who does cover art occasionally. Me, my drawing skills have regressed back to stick figures. ;)
