I'm looking forward to this November... though it's my first year, so I'm not entirely sure how it'll go. However, I'm done with college and currently unemployed, so if that stays true through Nov. the writing part shouldn't be difficult.

I suppose a quick introduction wouldn't hurt. Name's Jonathon, and I'm from Fremont. If I can get some income (looking into substitute teaching currently), I'd be interested in seeing what meet-ups will be taking place in the area and whether I can participate or not.

Welcome, Jonathan! I'm from Montague, but work in Fremont - so I'm sure we'll be able to figure out a write-in somewhere in your neck of the woods.

Welcome back, Becky! And you too, Tasha :) I'm up in Montague, maybe we can try a write-in at the Java Shop or the 31 BBQ.

Where's Ray? Normally he's the first one here getting us all pumped up.

I'm going on vacation on Nov 1st, so there's no kick off party for me - but I'll be trying to arrange some things in Muskegon/Montague/Fremont throughout the month.

The Java Shop would be really cool to have a meeting at. Especially since it's in running/biking distance.

Where is the Java Shop? I am not familiar with the name. My husband grew up in Whitehall so I've been there a lot though.

If it is the place I'm thinking of, The Book Nook & Java Shop, it is on Ferry Street. If not, then I have no clue where it is. It's been a couple years since I've been out to Montague, been living in Lansing while I was in College, just moved back home this past summer.

Hey Alison, welcome!

Every year is different, but there's always a lot of crazy silliness - with great fiction coming out of it :)

congrats, Ray :) and welcome back. NaNo would have been much more dull without you :)

Mickey's closed - so we need to find a new late night haunt. Looks like we've got more from my neck of the woods now too - which is AWESOME!

Kata -- I'd drive north for a late-night write-in (or whatever we're calling them this year). Because I work second shift, I could also occasionally do a sort of an early lunch -- do you have a place in mind?

Earlier afternoon lunch works for me too. I prefer to drive in the daylight (bad night vision). But anytime we can get together is fine. Do we want to try to get together once before October? Like an afternoon next week or something? It would be cool to bounce ideas off of each other.

Now that I'm actually working - I've got a weird variety of hours. Haven't found anywhere that's a 24hr place, but I know Hobo's Bar in North Muskegon is open late - and it's non-smoking.

There's also a US 31 BBQ in Whitehall that has WiFi - but not sure of their hours, but they have breakfast. The Old World Pub is also still an option - if they're cool with us hanging out. Fremont has a couple of coffee shops too - I haven't had a great chance to check those out.

We'll have to figure some things out for November, I'm gone that first week - but I'd love to do one or two each of the other weeks. I can probably host a weekend write-in at my place too.

Not sure what all is open late anymore here in Fremont, but I can look around. Also not sure what has wifi. When I went off to college, no one had it. I got weird looks when I said I had it set up in my house. I'll do some checking and get a list of options for this area.

Guess that's Fremont for you :) Seems like I saw the Moondance had WiFi - and I believe Pizza Hut does too... But I'm not sure of their hours. I do want a pretty reliable place out here for me to write after work.

Don't feel obligated to find a place for late nights on my behalf. I can come to lunchtime write-ins if they're between like 11 and 1 PM. I don't care where they're at, and I don't "need" wifi. Just name a place and time, Kata.

Personal note: talked to my agent today, and I agreed to have revisions done on my latest novel by Thanksgiving. It's official -- I will have to spend November editing. But you know me -- I'm still up for meetings of all kinds.

Hell, maybe I could try to write an entire in the last week of November. That's one I've never tried before.

It's just not a party with lots of caffeine and Ray Veen : ) I'm sure we'll have all sorts of meet-ups, since there's actually more than three of us this year!

You can do a "Meet-Up" novel where you only write when you're hanging with us. That'd be interesting.

Hello everyone and here am I. For my next trick I will not move this November and as such, will participate in this madness. No roommates, no excuses. Just a lame third shift job that I love.

Ah Fremont... I got nothing...

It is very possible that both Moondance and Pizza Hut have Wifi now... I've only been to Moondance once and I haven't been to Pizza Hut since before I left for college, but I'm not opposed to either. I really need to take a drive through town and see what's new... I've been back in the area for almost 6 months now and still make comments like "When did the Walgreen's come in?" and "Wait, when did Radio Shack become a cash-advance place?" Anyway... maybe I'll try to get that done this weekend and see what's around.

You found everything all on your own? Guess I don't need to send you links because you're all grown up and smart and figuring stuff out. For my next trick, I'm sending you a writing buddy add.

(And one for Mr. Kaelk -- because I like Fremont, despite its epic distance from Ravenna.)

Could we all try to get together on Oct 24th for a little kick-off? It's a Saturday. We can talk about what we are going to write anout and such. It's just a thought. I'm open that afternoon.

Sorry B, that's my twin's birthday/Halloween/costume party. I really do like your idea, though, so if you were to make it a different day (maybe even Sunday), I'd surely come for sure.

I'm gone the first week of November (poor vacation planning...) and work the 24th - but something maybe that Sunday could be fun to meet everyone.

Hopefully the second/third week of November, I'll have a write-in at my house. I have a big screen TV, so plenty of distractions too :)

Hm... for some reason I think I have something going on the 24th, but it's not in my calendar... as for that Sunday, as long as it's in the afternoon (and I can get my car running again, decided to die on me yesterday) I should be able to make it.

Sunday sounds like it's working out.

So we've got a couple of Muskoners, a Ravennite, a Fremontonian, and one freaky Whitehallissimo. North Muskegon sounds kind of like neutral ground to me -- anybody else?
