Okay, I need to know who's willing to drive out to Stephenville for any write-ins I might plan. I'm not going to plan any if no one is going to come. I just don't think it's fair that I have to drive out to Arlington or Ft. Worth all the time to participate in events.
I understand that the majority of us live closer to the Dallas/Ft. Worth area, but come on, a few of you do live closer to Stephenville.
Let me know where you are, and times and days good for you to come out so I can start planning things.
Please!!! Pretty Please!!! With sugar on top!!

From experience I can tell you, you plan the event, and people will come. Maybe not the first time, or the second... but you have to plan an event for people to know what they're going to. It takes time, I'm not gonna lie... and you're probably going to have some empty meetings, but that happens even in Arlington and other "heavily-populated-by-Wrimos" areas.

I'm sure that if you set a time to do one, people will show up.
Last year, I just put out here on the forums that I would be at a certain place at a certain time. Sometimes, I was there by myself the entire time. But other times, I was joined by other people. So just make the effort to be there.
Also, maybe it might help to spread the word of NaNo in your area. Let others there in Stephenville know what you're doing, and encourage them to join you. One thing you might try is to print out a NaNo flyer and if you have a set day and time you'll make yourself available for others to join you, put it on there. See if the place where you want to meet will let you hang it up. (Most coffee shops around here have a place for just such a thing.)
On the day you have planned, have a little sign that you set out so that people can find you. That's pretty much what I did. I just made up a little sign that said 50K or Bust! that I set out whenever I was out somewhere to write.
Good luck! Like Criss said, if you plan it, they will come!
See you at the finish line!

Hello, fellow 'Ville member! :D
I also live in Stephenville and a few years ago I heard that someone was doing an event but never figured out where which was pretty sad on my end. I haven't won Nano yet, but this year I feel I might be able to. And hey, if I get to meet writer friends from the Ville then that is a bonus, the cherry on the sundae. LOL!
If you want to talk you can Nano mail me.

Hi Seleane!
----------I don't live in Stephenville, but in Arlington. However, I have family in Stephenville and we usually come down over the Thanksgiving weekend. Maybe there will be a couple of hours we could carve out for a write-in over that weekend!

Okay, right now immediate plans for write-ins in Stephenville will involve meeting up at the Starbucks on Washington street. Whether or not we stay, or go somewhere else will be determined by date.
Most of my write-ins will occur on the weekends unless meeting after 5pm during the week is and option for anybody.

Mwhahahahahahahahahaha!!!!!!!!!!
Wait, I'm glad to be a Tarleton Staff member? When did I step into the Twilight Zone?
Anyway, I can get a meeting room right now any Saturday (except Thanksgiving holidays) for a write-in from 10-6. I was thinking afternoon to evening 2-6, since I can only book it for four hours. Haven't decided what days yet. Will definately get the details once they are nailed down to ReinaCriss so she can post them on the uber cool calandar.

All right, I think I have a plan for the Stephenville Events.
If all goes well I may actually get a student organization based on NaNo started. Just got to get the posters up!
Anyway, this is the schedule that I have managed to come up with.
Nov. 7 and 14 I will be waiting at the Starbucks on Washington St. (Hwy 377/67) in Stephenville from 2 till whenever they kick me out. Which, since I don't hang out much at Starbucks, will probably be when they close. Which I have no idea when that is.
Nov. 21 I am reserving the largest available meeting room at the library on the Tarleton campus from 12:30pm-5:45pm. This is room 106 of the Library, which is in the middle of campus so we can meet up anywhere off campus and head over, or I can give directions. Parking shouldn't be a problem since it's on a Saturday and most of the students go home on the weekends.
No, no overnights as of yet. My house couldn't handle it, and I don't know of anyplace that would let us stay over without charging lots of money.
Now I just need to get the details of Criss!!!!

I just realized something. They might not let me put up my posters for NaNo because it's not a student organization. :-(
Oh well, I still got the room, and they let people post posters advertising for roomates and stuff, so I'm not going to worry about it. I'm just going to go and see if they'll stamp my posters. The English department already said I could hang them in the Humanities building anyway.

Ha Ha! They let me put up my posters.
Well, actually they only allowed me six, but that's okay, the humanities building only has three floors so that's cool. Two posters per floor should get us some attention.

I need to know if anyone is coming down on the 21rst so I know if I have enough room for everyone. I got the largest room I could, but it only holds 12. NaNo mail me your RSVP so I can get a head count and get directions out.

Okay, our first write-in in Stephenville is Nov 7, 2pm-?, at the Starbucks on Washington St. It's the only Starbucks in town so it's pretty easy to find. You can take business 377 through down town or follow 377/67 going to Dublin around and still get there. It's past Walmart on the right. (If you're coming from the Dublin direction it's before Walmart on your left. :-) )

Okay, this Saturday is the final Stephenville write-in at the Tarleton library. I need RSVPs so that I know if I got a big enough room or not. Just NaNo mail me and I can get you directions. I'll also have a screen shot of a campus map, and basic directions up as soon as I can find them.
See you there!
Not going to the second page. Still haven't found any good maps that I can edit.
