Because whenever you post, it'll say that this thread was 'last updated x minutes/hours/days ago' . . . so even if someone only sees your post 20 minutes after you've posted it, they'll be able to make an educated guess as to whether or not you're still in there :)

Blame Opera developers. After upgrading browser, I couldn't recover my browsing history and I, um, hadn't bookmarked the chat page so I had to come here to find the address, but first I had to recover bookmarks to get here, and then password manager, not to mention all my other preferences so I could browser rather than staring at in confusion because nothing is where it should be. Then I had to write this post. :)
