So who's gearing up for November's writestravaganza from our fair Island City?
I'm Victoria (a.k.a. Vicster) and I'm a West End girl. OK I'm a West End Cat Lady, but whatever.
And you are...?

I'm right over the high street bridge from Alameda but I figure it's close enough :)

Trying this for the first time. Looking for a write-in in Alameda. I don't like to leave the island ;)

I live on the other side of the Tube at Jack London Square, but I wouldn't mind dropping into a coffee shop (or Panera -- mmmm, weekly Panera!) every week.
I'm a repeat offender -- participant since 2001, not yet a winner. This is the first year NaNo'ing will occur while I'm not knee-deep in midterms (in fact, I graduated this past spring!), so hooray and here's hoping This Is The Year. ;)

I'm mostly available in late mornings or Friday evenings. Panera sounds good. I've not been. Is it quiet? I also like Julie's coffee and tea on Park. Other suggestions of place/time? I'm looking forward to this writing exercise.

I have a full-time, normal business hours job, so I can't make weekday mornings. Friday evening sounds like it would be okay.
I highly doubt Panera is ever really "quiet," but they have comfy chairs/booths, lots of delicious sandwich/pastry/beverage options and free wi-fi. ;) I don't know Alameda very well at all, so if you know of a better place that's just fine by me! So long as I can find parking, anyway.

You had to mention parking. Though Julie's is charming and quiet with great food/drink/wireless, it is on Park with metered parking. We can give Panera a chance unless someone else jumps in with another suggestion.
Being unwillingly unemployed, I tend to forget that other people aren't roaming around at all hours twiddling their writing thumbs. Friday evenings sound good. 6:30?
And, I looked at my calender and I'm not available Nov. 6th, 13th, or 20th as I volunteer with Virago Theater on those dates. It seems Fridays are not going to work. Is there another evening that suits you?

Yeah, that parking thing throws a wrench in most of my plans. Alas! Now that I actually have a car, I tend to try and avoid wasting the extra 30 minutes-1 hour+ that public transportation takes me even if it means parking hassles. May have to rethink it, but not night-time forays. Jack London Square *is* still Oakland, after all.
I definitely can't do Monday or Wednesday evenings, probably not Tuesdays... so that leaves Thursdays! Alternatively, my Sundays, especially earlier in the day, are pretty free. I am a non-church-going heathen, though, so YMMV.
Oh, for the student days when I actually had time to myself...

A West end kid here.
May I suggest one of our lovely towns many small cafes, such as Jay's or Spritzers? They're quiet and affordable. Plus Jay's has the never ending coffee cup for just a couple of bucks. :)

I may be able to put in an appearance next Saturday (Nov. 14th). Keep me posted if you get a crew heading to the library. In the meantime, I'll be at Panera Bread today (Sunday) at 11am.

Hi, I'm Ziganna (Kim actually in my mundane life). I'm wondering if anyone can tell me if anyone has actually started meeting up to write together on the Island? Would love to meet up with any of you if I can get a chance.

I just found you all. Nice to meet you.
I'm participating in my first NaNo and I am behind. I started off the month under the weather--the flu hit hard--and didn't really begin to write until the 10th. I'm scrambling and hope, nay, intend to make it.
Keep plugging, I was told, one word after another. Write 100 and then some more.
I've slowed down today with some new plot twists ideas, but it will make for a better editing process later.
Unlike some who tell me that they wrote themselves silly and put it away, I hope to edit this over the next year into a decent novel. So I don't want to be too off track with the plot.
Good writing.

I don't know where everyone went. Alameda seems to not be writing this year. How is your writing coming along? I hope it is going well. Keep it up.

Regardless of whether everyone is on board with the full 50K, it is a great experience and fun to encounter others who care about the written word.
I started a writer's group for Alameda, but we dissolved soon because of lack of interest. I was the only one who was seriously writing.
Are any of you a member of any local writing groups?
