I'm starting this topic to try and find other writers in Berks County. I'm right near the Montgomery County border and would love to find or plan some events in this area. I won NaNo last year and am anxious to get started this year!

I'm not that far from you, although I'm in Chester County but at the borders of Montgomery and Berks, otherwise known as the North Coventry area. Last year was my first NaNo and I won by word count, although I didn't finish the story.

I live near Reading.....but not in it. Sorry. Love your siggie, by the way.
So I guess you guys are going to be the ones my mom watches carefully from the other side of the cafe? She *won't* let me go alone...completely unfair, I think. I'm pretty sure stalkers don't come on a site where they're expected to *write* something.
For the record: I like my mom. It's just embarrassing.

Boyertown! :D!!
I totally rock the Boyertown nano area, though until this year, no one from here has been doing nano as far as I can tell, so I and others of our ilk have done the meets in the Reading Borders, because it's closest by net resource pool. Or something. o_o;

L! *pounce*
You best be saving me at LEAST one weekend this November. I've already made plans with Jen to make it up there for a three day stay. So, if you and your girl (and boy, if you're still in contact with him, whatever his name was?) are willing, two meets in the course of a weekend? Possibly another weekend too, depending on my silly work schedule.
iHop, here we come. Borders, prepare yourself!
ALSO! From Philly. The pas couple of years, I've been in the Reading area though. This is the first place I came to though for meet ups. Haven't even looked at the Philly boards yet. That place seems kinda scary, far too many people. I miss my write ins of 3-6 people at a time. What a strange group we were. ^^

COLE! :D!!!
Yeah, Uny and I have been up to the IHOP every now and again, and without Reuben and Nicole, it's bleeding terrible. :( We keep getting major fail waitresses. Sigh.
But I will absolutely keep a weekend open for writing with you! :D You have to tell me when you're planning on coming up. I've totally been missing you in a very ':( Nano won't be the same without Cole...' fashion. X3 Now it'll be mostly acceptable. ^_~
And I know who you mean by my 'boy', but crap if I can remember his name. o_O It wasn't Todd. And it wasn't Brian... We played this game all month last year. *facepalm*

Would anyone be interested in meeting at either Boyertown Library or Hard Bean Cafe in Boyertown? (Both have free wifi.) Nanomail me and we can set something up.

I'm kinda on the other side of Berks from most of the people on here so far. Womelsdorf is in that little corner right next to Lebanon county. If anyone from this side of town wanders onto here, let me know! I'd love to meet someone else as weird as me! hehe We do have an awesome coffee shop in town (and I'm not just saying that because I work there) with free wifi if anyones interested!

....Does this mean we have to make a meeting on our own? The shock. And horror. Really.
Anyway, I'd love to come to one. I don't really care about the place in Boyertown......but I've always had a fondness for coffeeshops. What would be a good time and date? Anyone know?

Personally, I'm not overly fond of the Hardbean (likely because I'm a chai lover, and their chai is /horribly weak/. o_o like, mindbogglingly), but it probably has more space than the library, and so far I'm counting four people in Boyertown area? So I'd come for the people more than the allegations of caffeine. ^^;;
I'm free most weekdays after 4:30, and some weekends, but not all, since our Reading wrimo group will be stalking the Borders cafe on the weekends. :D!!! I must go make that thread, now. ^^; Cole, I have not forgotten you!

Hey folks! I'm not far from Boyertown, but the Quakertown people are planning gatherings at Starbucks, too. :) What a weird thing to have two groups within reach! I'd be interested in a meeting at the Boyertown Library, depending on scheduling and things.

If you're in or near Berks County...I scheduled a kick-off write-in for 5-7 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 1 at the Boyertown Community Library, 29 E. Philadelphia Ave., Boyertown. Bring your own coffee or other energizing beverage of choice, and I'll bring a few snacks.
The computers won't be available, so bring your own laptop or pen & paper. We should have a wifi signal to use, though.
If you can RSVP to give me a rough head count, that would be great!

I didn't know there were other people in the area participating. I'm in Mohnton, myself. At least that's where the nearest post office is. Technically I think I'm in Alleghenyville or something. I probably mis-spelled that horrendously.
Wish I could go to one of these "write-ins", but I'm chained to a desktop. I can't write with paper and pen either for some odd reason.
This will be my first time participating. I hope to enjoy myself, plus I can finally write that novel I've been promising myself I'll get to!

I'll cross my fingers for you, but you know you don't just have to go to write-ins to write. o_o Very few write-ins I've been to involved a good deal of writing. Depending on group/your own philosophy, write-ins are just as good for making contact with others in the outside world doing this crazy thing, generating ideas, playing with challenges, etc. Don't not go just because you probably won't write. :) Meeting the rest of us helps inspire... most of the time. ^_~
(the rest of the time, it's just good fun. :D)

I wrote a nice NaNo email to everyone who was at the library, then when I went to send it told me I can't send to multiple recipients (and deleted the draft). sigh.
So, I'll post here.
Thanks to everyone who was at the Boyertown Library on Sunday. I have the ok from the librarian to do it again, so if anyone's interested in another Sunday write-in let me know.

:) Hi, Cris!
I wouldn't mind being a bouncing board for you, if you need one. Annoyingly, my writers block gets broken more by verbal outbursts (my philosophy being, why would I write something to fix what was broken with my writing that I then can't use to literally fix what was broken? o_o; ), so I have people for that, but I'd love to bounce ideas with you, if you like. :)
Also, you're here for college in Reading. Is that Alvernia? We're doing two meets right down 422 from Alvernia this weekend, if you're interested in write-ins at all. *offer* Or y'know, some other random Reading college, it's still pretty close. :) I'd drop you a nanomail, except yours seems to be disabled. *shrug*

I'm around... well for another 20 minutes or so at Borders over by Bershire mall
At least that's how long my laptop has left of battery life.
Then I'll be scribbling in a notebook probably another hour before heading out to grab something to eat and head home.
I'm in the cafe, middle table in a brown and cream shirt. If you don't see me I'll probably be heading to the west reading dinner for a bit.

Boyertown write-in tonight!
I got the ok from DH to leave the house tonight (lol), so I'll be at the Boyertown Library from 5-8 if anyone wants to join me. I'll see if I can scrounge up some snacks, but Hard Bean down the street is open until 8 if you want to grab coffee first.I might grab McDonald's or something because last time I never got to eat dinner.
Door will be locked after 5:30, but just knock or ring the doorbell and I'll open it. I'll hang a NaNo sign on the door so you know we're there.
Hope to see everyone! Now I better rush and get all the housework done so I'm not late!
