My genre basically is fantasy, and always accompanied by romance. This is my first NaNo, but I've followed 3 other wrimos in July, August, and October (yes this month, I'm aiming for 30k).

Hey all. WaterVyper, Vype, Emily, whatever you want to call me. In high school, 13, and getting ready for my first NaNoWriMo. I've done July and August, failed both, but I'm definitely ready for November. I'm also a mainly fantasy writer, though I've dabbled in realistic fiction, historical fiction, comedy, horror, and mainstream (and I swear I shall never touch the latter three ever again).

Hi, all.
I'm Dian Ara. Born and raised in Surabaya, I currently live in Bandung. I work as a freelance writer, writing articles and copies mostly.
Not so interested in writing fictions though I love reading them, LOL.
I knew 'bout NaNoWriMo from Monsterikan last year, but couldn't find the eagerness to finish it. In fact, I wrote only 2 words (the title), hahaha...
This year is my year. So I'll join NaNoWriMo once again and finish it this time. Dunno what to write yet, but no fiction for sure. I have 3 ideas to choose though:
- articles on freelancing and freelance writing (some of them are published in www.ruangfreelance.com)
- blog posts on my new life in bandung (www.cerebrumdianara.blogspot.com)
- haiku compilation (I find it really interesting, and lately I'm kinda addicted to it).

Feel free to call me Duckie and so far (apart from Endah who's been MIA since last year), I probably am the oldest. This will be my sixth year doing Nanowrimo, yeah I know, crazy. Where has the time gone? My friend told me that I probably ate them all.

@Dian: greetings to you too ^_^.
Hmm, the definition of novel at NaNoWriMo is: "a lengthy work of fiction", then again they say if you believe you're writing a fiction, we believe it too.
On my part, I think it's up to you what you'd like to write. Although if you mean like a compilation of short articles, it might be too much of a stretch. Perhaps you can weave it to be somewhat autobiographical? Just an out of the blue suggestion.
On the other hand, I see it as an opportunity to write more than 50.000 words anyways so it's better to participate than not. At least you'll have a group of people ready to kick your ass when you're lazy (I find it always helpful!)
@Duckie: it does feel strange to be a senior... can't believe it's my fourth year already hahaha.

Hai semuanya,
Disini suppii dari Jakarta. Posting perkenalannya pakai bahasa Indo saja ya, nanti takutnya karatan karena kebanyakan post pakai bahasa Inggris. Wakakakak, just kidding :P
Ahem, anyway, tahun ini adalah tahun kedua kalinya mengikuti NaNo. Tahung kemarin berhasil tembus 50000 dan masih sedang dipoles supaya mengkilap :D
Novel tahun ini rencananya merupakan lanjutan dari novel tahun lalu, dengan setting musim panas dan gugur (sebelumnya musim dingin dan semi). Bertema fantasi, sedang plotting ceritanya dan mengumpulkan referensi supaya ceritanya kokoh dan solid. Maklum, settingnya ada di Negeri Sakura nun jauh di utara yang tidak pernah dikunjungi sampai detik ini T_T Lama-lama sepertinya jadi seperti promosi buku XD
End of words, senang berkenalan dengan rekan-rekan penulis nusantara sekalian. Sepertinya sampai saat ini baru peserta dari Surabaya, Bandung dan Jakarta yang bergabung. Ada dari daerah lainnya?

Yuhu, balik lagi nih.. Udah ikut 2 kali kayaknya 2007 dan 2008 dimana dua-duanya tetep nulis novel sama dan tentunya sama-sama gagal juga.. Masing2 baru sampe 1500an kata!! Wakaka..
Target kali ini minimal dapet 100 halaman WORD (font 12, spasi 1 setengah, times new roman). Amiin.. Kalau soal cerita yang mo dibuat, hampir bisa dipastikan bergenre Humor/Parodi kayak sebelumnya. Tapi lom tau cerita apa yang bakal diangkat sekarang, udah ada beberapa wangsit lewat sih. Hoho..

I'm a mommy of one naughty boy, I'll be in Jakarta until the 30th of October, then I'll be back to write in France.
Udah ikutan nano sejak 05, every year, and cuma 05 yang gagal karena nulisnya di kapal terbang pas mau ke Jakarta (di PDA) and kehapus pas PDAnya hang... oh well...
Novel2 gue 06,07,08 itu mestinya jadi trilogy sih, tapi yang 08 malah menjadi preludenya. Nano 08 sekarang lagi diedit tapi kaya'nya ga bisa kelas sebelon akhir bulan, hiks hiks, and gue udah keburu taruhan ma suami bahwa kalo ga kelar, gue mesti masak selama November... jadi NanoCryMo deeeeh. Moga2 sempet nulis juga.
Nano 09 bakalan menjadi cerita scifi, biar refresh dikit dari fantasy world yang udah tiga taon ga kelar2 itu. Settingnya di future, and banyak menyangkut dunia maya alias Virtual World.
Gitu deh kira2...

Last year's winner, but not sure if I can make out of this year 'alive'. Well, definitely insane from the start, since I still want to follow with this year even though with no firm idea in mind... Hi all!
I'm Chreezy, from Jakarta, and still in my third year of university life.
This is my second year, and because last year I just managed to reach 25k-ish, this year I want to go all the way to be the winner, so please help me out! Haha..
My favorite genre of writing is fantasy with some drama and a little bit of tragedy thrown in, and I like to put in twists and turns in my stories. I usually plan my stories well in advance and I already know how they're going to turn out, but this time I got nothing. I haven't really got the chance to sit down and daydream all day long, so I think I'm gonna start this year with the 'go-with-the-flow' approach.
Looking forward to overcome the rollercoaster ride, all the blood and tears, and become the winners with you all! :D

I just moved to Yogyakarta last April 2009.
I love stories and what got me to compose my first own written story was Starwars, The Empire Strikes Back. Suffice to say I enjoy fantasy and sci-fi genre, but oddly enough, I mainly write romance. :D ahaha
This is my first ever nanowrimo. I used to run a small writers group in Bandung 2003-2006 and we had a similar writing module which lasted for 90 days. There were 8 people and only one of us made it. :) I guess this is what interested me to join Nanowrimo.
I wrote spatially online in the course of... erm... nearly a decade. If you search for Freya Griffin or Freyja Griffin, or F_griffin, you might stumble upon some traces of my old pieces :)
I have several project outlines but never succeeded in bringing myself to actually writing them down and get it over with. The reason is that I have a very low writing stamina and short breath.
Will I finish something (long enough) in nanowrimo? I dunno... :)
I feel so giddy right now :)

Just call me Michell. I eager to write in many themes so I don't know yet which is one my specialization at this time. I ever wrote Fantasy stuffs (alot, actually), Romance mostly, with too much Philosophy seasonings. HAHAHA. I also wrote adventural stories, few of Kingdom and Fairy's ideas, and then I mixed them up in just one story. I used to write many short stories. If you have enough time to search for Panah Hujan at google, maybe you can find one of my story appears on the list. My biggest problem at writing is I can't write more than 70 pages .doc file so long. But I'm sure that I could write 4000 or more words in a day. :) Well, I'll just try.
