Hi all! Welcome to this year's NaNo. After having life go absolutely insane last year during November I am determined to regain my title of NaNo Winner this year. I'll be hosting at least one Write-In on a weekend and if anyone is up near the route 26 WalMart around lunch time I'd be happy to meet for a working lunch.

So what are you guys thinking about writing this year? I'm not sure what I'm going to write this year.

Linda

By route 26 Wal-Mart I assume you mean the wal mart with a blockbuster's nearby and a Giant just across the road...? I'm not all that good with road names and stuff. *sigh* I really should know them by now. Anyways, what day would you want to do it, b/c this whole month I have nothing resembling a free weekend. This was my free weekend. I can squeeze it in on a Friday. Mebbe.
I'm gonna write very stream-of-consciousness, with some kind of intent that it's a memoir (sp?) of my life so far. I have a lot to say and it keeps me up at nights.

Woohoo, WriMo!

Originally from Montgomery County, but I'm a new resident of Frederick for college, and loving it so far. I can't wait to let the writing begin.

This is my first NaNo and I'm excited. I'm not far from the Wal-mart on 26 and would love to get together with other folks attempting this challenge. I have a novel in my head involving a long ago (100 years) disappearance and some newly found info.

Here are the write-ins that I'm hosting!

Lunch time writing Fridays in November from 12 noon - 1 pm at Mamma Lucias (mammaluciarestaurants.com, 1700 Kingfisher Dr # 13, Frederick, MD 21701-4770) - Please RSVP so I know for how many people to get a table. Also, I am fairly certain that there's no outlets available here, so if you don't have a good battery on your laptop you might want pen & paper.

Sunday, November 8th from 12 - 4 at the Frederick Borders on 355.

If you're interested in setting up a Frederick County write-in, please let us know! Looking forward to seeing folks!

Hi All! This is my first attempt at NaNo and I'm a nervous wreck. I don't have an outline, but I do have a general idea of what I want to write so we'll see if that takes me to the finish line. Even if it doesn't, I'll have written more on this story than I have since I first got the idea a few years back so I'm looking forward to it!

I'd love to get together for a working lunch.

Frederick County! c: That's me. Hello everyone. This is my...third year doing NaNoWriMo. I'm pretty excited to write this year. I'm a big planner when it comes to my writing/characters/plot, so I've had my storyline ready since mid-September. I've got my synopsis up if anyone is interested.

Not sure if I'll be able to make it to any of the write ins this year, though. I've got Driver's Ed in November, and that's about two weeks. So I'll have to see.

Hello all! Through I do most of my writing in Montgomery County, I spoke to Jess and Molli and once again we'll be joining you for your Sunday write-in. We may even be able to talk a few others into coming along -- who knows?

Vickie! I hope you drag some of the 270'ers over to the Frederick write-in, I'd love to see you guys again. No other way I'd have gotten through last year!

I'll most likely be making it to the Friday's at Mama Lucia, and definitely to the Sunday write-in at 355.

I'm in for this write-in: Sunday, November 8th from 12 - 4 at the Frederick Borders on 355.

I'm south of Frederick (Pt of Rocks) and don't know any writers in this area. Anyone? Romance writers? RWA mbrs?

I should be good for November 8th from 12-4 at the Frederick Boarders. I too am south of Frederick... Only a few miles from you Carol. I guess we will meet then.

This is my first NaNo... so we will see how it goes.

Carol!

I'm in Pt of Rocks, too! :)
My current non-nanowrimo project is a romance/chick lit thing - and I'm an RWA member.
My nanowrimo project is going to be something different - a young adult fantasy piece.

Definitely looking for more nanowrimo buddies! Especially local ones! :)

All,

Count me in for that Sunday at Border's. I can't make Friday lunches since I have a full-time job I have to maintain...

I'll so be at the write-in. ^^ And guess what, this time I have a working, not-ancient laptop! One that won't fall on me, stays on and has an actual word count feature! x3

I haven't planned anything either. I have a vague idea of which of my characters I'll use, but other than that, I have nothing. It'll be fun and crazy.

I'm usually situated in Gaithersburg, Montgomery County, but my mother and brother (the latter of which is doing nano! He's on the YWP, so if I go to any events I may drag him along) live in Frederick, so I'm out there weekends. Friday lunch would be horrid for me, since I'm still here in MoCo at that time, but I may be able to swing the Write-In at Borders. I just THINK I have something at 2pm that day, so I may come for two hours and then run off. I do love that Borders though; they CLOSED the one near my house here in Gaithersburg, so I go out to Frederick now.

So a tentative RSVP from me. I'll probably follow through with whether or not I can come for certain. Also, this will be my SEVENTH year, but I'm notoriously bad at going out for nano get-togethers. I tend to stay in with one of my writing buddies and abuse my keyboard while occasionally poking her. She's off at Saint Mary's though, so I guess I have to get out more.

Go Team Maryland! And hello all Frederick County NaNoWriMoers!

Anyway, not my first NaNo, but this year is going to be even crazier than usual, with my busy schedule and all. High school never lets you rest...but hopefully I can find time to finish my story! I think I have a pretty good outline and idea, but it always turns out shorter than expected. I even got one of my writing friends from my school to join me in the NaNo insanity this year! Exciting!

Maybe we can get to some of the write-ins...if we're lucky. :D

csiloverxgsrshipper: Mind if I ask what high school you go to? My brother goes to Urbana, and I know several people at Urbana who are participating in Nanowrimo. I even went there for all of one year.

Also, my ideas usually turn out LONGER than I expected. It's happened with two nanovels, and several other non-nanowrimo projects. But then again, last year's nano was shorter than I expected, sort of. I got to the main plot point faster than I had expected, but ended up with a completely unexpected side plot as a result. And the chapters of the story I was writing in May turned out shorter than I expected. Go figure, right?

The total opposite happens here. I always think I have a great idea that can last 50k words, then it falls short...by many thousand...

Anywho, I go to Catoctin. I have two friends that go to Urbana, but I don't think either of them are doing NaNo. Go Cougars! XD

This is my first time (how did I never hear of this before????) I'm also Fred Co, (Ballanger Creek area). I should be in for the sunday meeting...but I'm a substitute teacher, so lunch meetings are pretty much out (usually 30 minute lunches at different times...not amenable to lunch meeting!). Wow, that was a lot of parantheses! Anyway, I'm excited!

I might drop in on a weekend write-in. I lived in Frederick last year and several of my friends still live there (I never got to go to a write-in because I ended up hospitalized in November) so I go up on weekends now and then.

Saaaaad. That really WAS how it was with my May novel, though. I need to finish the May novel. x.x I wrote only about 8k words and haven't touched it in months. It'll have to wait until after November, I guess.

My brother's a freshie, so the only people I know at Urbana are freshman. I probably don't know who the heck your friends are. xD

Hi! I'm new to NaNo. I joined today and already roped my best friend into it! She hasn't signed up, but I'll definitely have her do that. I could use her support. I think it'd be fun to meet up with fellow WriMos, but I have no idea when of if I'm available. But I'm glad to know there are others in Frederick [let alone the county] doing this. I'm very excited. =D

Hello all my fellow Frederick Co (and those nearby :) WriMos! I can't believe we only have three more days to get through (if you don't count today) before NaNo. I'm still not quite sure what I'm going to write!

I look forward to seeing ya'll at the write-ins I set up. Is anyone else hosting any write-ins?

Greetings! I live in Walkersville so I am very close to Mama Lucia's. I should be there on Fridays, and will also show up at Borders.

This is my first NaNoWriMo - I have been thinking about it since last November when I heard about it. I look forward to sharing tips and tricks on easing the soreness of overworked fingers with you all ;-)
