Hey! I'm a junior at CU Denver - just transferred! I think last year there were some meet ups on campus for NaNos, and I was wondering if any Metro/UCD/CCD students wanted to pull the same thing this year! I'm on campus pretty much all day Tuesday and Thursday, with a block of classes at 4pm-6:45. Long story as to why I'm on campus all the time on Tues/Thurs.
Anyways, if anyone wanted to meet up for a write-in, meet-up, or just a study session with fellow wrimos, I think that would be pretty neat. Oh, and all days brainstorming is okay...because who knows? Maybe I'm the only one on campus who has classes on these days.
Anyone with me? :)

Well, I'm on campus M-F, thanks to working on campus as well! I've got class from 11.30-6.45 on Mondays and Wednesdays, and work from 12-6 on Tues, Thurs, and Friday. But I'm up for anything before/after classes and work!

I'm in class all day Mondays and Wednesdays with frequent breaks throughout the day. I have one class Friday, but I doubt a lot of people will be there Friday (although I suppose we could get space to meet up easy). I work off campus, but usually my shifts are early in the morning, so if we have afternoon meet ups Tuesdays and Thursdays, I might come and join you. Well, if I do NaNo, that is. Still making my mind up on that one.

Algae it should be a no brainer to do NaNo with us!!
I kinda want to wait a little longer to see if anyone else has an opinion. Right now it looks like I'm on only tues/thurs, someone is on m-tr, and someone is on m/w but can make t/tr if needed. I think we need another opinion. :) Right now it looks like something mostly informal, meet up and write and then go to class/work/home.

Weeell.... I'm on campus Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday (yay for classes designed for those of us who work). T/Th I have this annoying time in the middle of the afternoon-- about 4-7-- where I have nothing to do; work ends at 3:30, class starts at 7. If others are free during that period on either of those days, that'd be about perfect for me! Else, I probably wouldn't be able to join you, my schedule is kinda crazy, and while M/W I'm ostensibly free, I've been tutoring and am likely to continue doing so.

I'm on campus every day except friday, with frequent breaks. MW I don't have class from 11:45-1 and on TR it's 9:45-11:30 and 12:45-2:30. I'm also up for sticking around after, just let me know ^.^
I'm probably going to have a hard time with things this year, so write-ins are a must for me :)

I'd really like to meet up sometime on campus. Someone suggest a time. I think someplace in the Tivoli would be good, or perhaps something in an English department...?

It was in the Library last year, but I personally would like something more cozy and not so...quiet.

If there's only a few, we could probably hang out at the Metro honors lounge - it's not very big, but there's a couch, a small round table, and three computers in there. I can ask the director if you guys want.

Sounds cool to me. Let us know when this could happen. I'm not that tied into what's going on over there, so I'm afraid I'm really of no use towards finding a good meeting place. Hopefully we can figure this out before November 1st.

Metro honors lounge? I have no idea what or where that is haha. I may have a power outlet requirement, so really I don't mind as long as I can get my laptop to turn on (it has battery issues).
Would it be too much to have this happen more than once a week or something? It's kind of hard to find one specific time that would fit everyone's needs, so some options would be nice.

Multiple dates/times are a good idea. If only we had a good place to do this. Maybe the South Classroom cafeteria?
I'm clear 1:00-2:15pm, and after 4pm.

I set this up: http://www.doodle.com/rg6x8ui4qacyp6at
Everyone can vote for what times on what days (I only put Nov 2-6 on there, but just assume that the 2nd stands for every Monday in the month, 3rd for every Tuesday, etc).
EDIT: Oh, and you don't have to be able to make all of the three hour block to vote for it - I'd say be sure you could make at least an hour of it, though!

I love how democratic this is. Students are so progressive.
I don't mind getting to campus early, but I do mind staying too late. I have some classes between those times, but if they're 3-hour blocks, then, as Leevee said, I'll be bound to have some time within that slot. If we're doing this early, 9am-11am works best for me.

I also wont be able to be there the whole time, unless we decide to do something friday. We shall see.

I'm on campus Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays; however, after I fall behind the word count, during the Thanksgiving break and the last week of November, I'll probably find the time to meet on Tuesdays or Thursdays...

So far, it looks like we can get just about everybody if we do it at two different times on Monday and Wednesday, at 8-11 and 2-5.
Do you guys want to do it on both those days, or do one and pick two times on a tuesday or thursday as well? Or is that too much?

Thursdays are my best days, so a meeting on thursdays would be awesome. But, once we get a schedule established, I am sure I will be able to work something out.
What would these meetings be like? Are we looking at a write-in sort of thing or is this a chance to have others read what we've done or what? I am still a rookie haha.

I've been to a couple... They're write-ins. A chance to try to get the 6-7 pages a day done, and the motivation of having a set time and place to write it. (And, occasionally, a chance to talk about how your novel is going with another person crazy enough to try to write a novel in amonth.)
As for having others read our writing, people do post excerpts from their novel on the nanowrimo website. Not sure how that works, though...

So here's some possible days and times. If you want to do one every day except friday, we could do Monday at 2 Tuesday at 5 Wednesday at 8 (am) Thursday at 2. I think there should be at least three people able to make it to one of these times xD.
What do you think?

That sounds good, though, it would be nice for me if one of those 2pm times was 1pm instead.
Where do we do it? :)

I'm fine with changing the Thursday to a 1 if that's okay.
As to where, I have no idea. I haven't explored campus enough to know where all the good spots are...
I suppose I could look into those group study rooms in the library, if no one else has any ideas.
