TimSimms, one of the MLs for Chicago, is organizing this year's (and the second annual) all-Illinois-state write-in. It will be November 14th, Saturday (which conflicts with two of our own write-ins) but promises to be lots of fun (we hosted last year and it was electric):
See the all Illinois state write-in RSVP thread in the Illinois::Chicago forum.

If you're not going to the downtown writein--but are planning on going to the Warrenville
City Hall one, please let me know. (I'd like to attend the downtown one--so need someone
to open City Hall. Or if everyone is going downtown, we'll cancel the Warrenville
write-in that day.)

Actually, I was hoping to go to the all-state write-in too. Maybe we should cancel the Warrenville write-in for the 14th?

I will be unable to attend the All State write in. But I was planning to go to the Plano write in.

I'm also planning on attending the Plano write-in, too, as I can't make it to the city. :]

I'm not certain if I can make it yet or not, but if lots of us are coming from the SW suburbs maybe we could take the train together?
I'm all about mass transit for getting around Chicago and it looks like the location is pretty close to the red line stop at Grand. Just wondering if others would be up for mass commuting. (Charge up the laptop batteries: Train = Writing Time!)

I won't be able to make it downtown, and Plano's way too far out of the way for me. Is the one in Naperville being canceled that day also? I would volunteer to host either the Naperville or Warrenville one if there are enough people interested.

The all-Ilinois write-in is on Saturday--same day as Plano and Warrenville (but Naperville is on Sunday.)
I'm looking for someone to cover the Warrenville one, otherwise I'll cancel it. (We can talk if you'd like to host the
Warrenville one.) We'll know better after the first week, I expect.

Oh, okay. I guess I should actually read the schedules, since I didn't realize they weren't all on the same day. =) But sure, I'd be up for hosting it if other people want to come to Warrenville.

Just a note that NewMexicoKid, FinBarMcG, Bookgrrl and myself will be at the all-Illinois write-in. Rumor has it that Rock Bottom is five blocks away. Not that that would influence FinBarMcG and myself......

The folks in Warrenville looked at me like I had six heads when I asked about the write in. It would seem that absolutely no one knew about it! Would have loved to have read this thread before driving all the way out there, but oh well - it's a nice day and Starbucks is calling my name!
