so I have this problem where I'm writing the prequel to 2007's failed NaNo, and so...I have no worldbuilding to do. Don't really have any characters to discover, either. I figure what plot parts I'm missing will evolve as a investigate these old friends, which leaves me with a problem...WHAT AM I GOING TO DO FOR THE NEXT TWENTY-THREE DAYS?
and y'all are not helping by not posting on the threads.
in summary: whine whine moan moan complain complain, can I play with the puppy?

Well, you can always offer to babysit for me, help me pack up my apartment or bake lots and lots of sugary treats to put aside for next month's festivities!
Or you can keep on as you have and think of new and intriguing ways to drive our beloved ML into a mental breakdown before Halloween.

Ugh ... November is approaching all too quickly and I am being lazy and slow in my research. Also still need to write something to submit to the Michiana Monologues.
< monologuepromotion >Jade, if you're bored, and feel like writing nonfiction, submissions for the Monologues are accepted until November 1 at http://www.michianamonologues.org/ < /monologuepromotion >.

I'm writing pages of character development. I found this character questionnaire on the Young Writers Program site. It's really helpful. I thought of stuff I would have never thought of before. That keeps me busy. Next I'll be working on conflict. Gosh November won't come fast enough.

it's totally productive. I'm producing two things: new written work, in the form of posts, and insanity, in the form of you. This seems perfectly productive to me.

Presented by Arlene Schulman.
This workshop will cover individual writing interests
Arlene Schulman has been writing for more than 30 years. At one time she experienced a writer's block and had difficulty even writing one line of copy. She then developed an innovative conceptual method to overcome her writer's block and make writing easy for everyone. From advertising copy to children's books, an off-Broadway musical to country songs, Ms. Schulman has done it all. Currently, Ms. Schulman owns an advertising consulting firm and has several testimonials about her work. She has put on several workshops in elementary schools and a course at Florida International University entitled "How to Earn a Living as a Writer". Ms. Schulman is bi-Lingual speaking fluent Spanish and has served as an Interpreter/translator.

Okay Jade Sabre, I went to the young writers site. Went to writers resourses. There are three workbooks you could download. Get the high school one. The questionnaire is somewhere in there. It's really hepful.

thanks Fairy! (can I call you Fairy? What should I call you? The introductions post is so many clicks away...)
...also, Barb, that workshop sounds kind of like my idea of hell. if only because her entire biography makes me think she sold her soul to the devil and now creates things that are commercially successful but artistically lacking. D:

*giggling* agreed, I just thought if you were REALLY bored...you know...it might have been entertaining. And I've never met her before in my life. I have a Y membership (that's who's sponsoring it) and they sent me an e-mail to invite me to attend. Thought this group would get a kick out of "Writing successfully in one hour" (I mean, that's like Nano on crack!)
AND a general shout-out...I have to get out of the house tonight for a few hours so I don't end up in jail for murder...so, if you are out and about or would like to be...I'm probably going to head over the MPL or a coffee shop or something and generally meditate on what's coming up next month or do some research for my novel. If you want to join me, drop a note here!

bumping this thread to emphasize its subject line. Seriously, I went on a nineteen-hour train ride and the only thing waiting for me upon my blessed return to the internets were two snarky lines in response to my snarky line to Amanda's story? Really people?
