Are you feeling as if you're the only person in your area taking the plunge into NaNoWriMo craziness?
Then convince others to join us!
Print a few flyers and place them in local supermarkets, libraries, etc. Downloads are available on the site:
http://www.nanowrimo.org/eng/node/1005807

If you don't care to give out personal info, just include the website and your username here. Who knows? By the end of November you could end up with new friends and support in your writing!

I only know one person in real life who has completed the NaNoWriMo Goal, and he's hours north of me. I've never been to a write-in (no laptop), I've never managed to bump into anyone anywhere who has even heard of this great thing we do.

So, alone, yes, lonely, no. Just cannot WAIT for it to begin this year for some reason. :D

You don't need a laptop to attend a write-in: people show up with pen and notebook and write, whether to type later or making notes. And it really is inspiring and helps you keep on topic.

I may have to venture out of the cave, then. :)

@tootalltotango: Hi. I am one of the people Vix talked about who brought a notebook to a write-in. My only suggestion is that you make sure your inner editor is tied up and locked away in a dark closet before you transcribe. Otherwise, the little gremlin will try to get you to fix this or that little thing.

Whenever I go outside to write, I always bring a notebook and pens/pencils. I am clumsy and apt to fall--not so good for the lifespan of a laptop. ;-)

And yes, the pens are usually purple ink. ;-)
