I've read all the intros, so I know there's a ton of people not exactly in Melbourne, and I was wondering where everyone actually is.
I'll kick things off...Hi. I'm Rebekah and I live in Narre Warren - still technically Melbourne since I can easily take a Connex to the city, right? Well, assuming I want to take the train on a day that isn't slightly too hot, but just hot enough to cause "issues" with the tracks... :)

I live in North Coburg, closer to Merlynston station than Coburg. It's not that far out, a nice area and a really uber cool house with new kitchen a nook in the living area for a study.
We should post photos of our desks in preperation for NaNo so everyone can see our working spaces. Can we post images to the forums?

Gotta love the Pakenham/Cranbourne line, eh Rebekah? Either it's got trees on it or the tracks have melted or there's been an accident. I'm in Mulgrave and my closest station is Springvale, so I know it well.
We can indeed post images: the code is <img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v685/princesslaurene/NaNoWriMo/DSC00805.jpg">, (obviously you replace the URL with your own URL; we don't need a kazillion pictures of my desk) which will show up thusly:
The little table has the NaNo collection tin on it, as well as a shoebox full of nametags for the kick-off BBQ.

I, er, am actually not in the country at the moment. It's a long story, but the short version is I took a year off to travel after graduating, and said year isn't up yet.
I may actually be in London for the first half of NaNo, so I don't know how much writing I'll be able to do. I'll try to make a good crack at it though, so I don't drag down the average for that word war. *grin*

Oh, it was so lovely (while I was working in the CBD) to find out that my train was stopping at Richmond and going no further. Like I said, lovely!!!
I actually need to make a trip to Springvale. There's an Asian supermarket about a block south of the station that has some almond powder. I LOVE almond powder, and definitely need some for NaNo! I'm sure I could get some closer, but I have no idea where the Asian supermarkets are around here. I just happened upon that one oneday, so I'll just make my way to Springvale before Nov. 1 :)
Huh, that was a bit of a tangent.

Hi, I'm Avril. I did introduce myself in this forum, but before the changeover (is that what you call it?). So anyway, if you feel like you're having deja vu, that's why..
I'm from Cottlesbridge, which is about a ten minute drive from Hurstbridge (the end of the Hurstbridge trainline). Close to St Andrews, which has a popular market you might have heard of? So yeah. The disadvantage is the long journey into the city for uni each day, but the advantage is living in such a beautiful part of the world (we have ten acres, and the housing estates haven't made it out to us just yet).

Hi all!
At the moment I'm in Bundoora, so I'm kinda in Melbourne... But as soon as my exams finish I get packed off back to Warrnambool. Well, technically Winslow, but no one's heard of Winslow, and Warrnambool's closest. So yeah.

Part of my public transport trip to work now that my car has said its farewell, includes some time on the Pakenham/Cranbourne line. T-T Among many other things.
No photo of my desk yet... actually I might have an old one somewhere. I'm in Lilydale though (just... and by just I mean further out - but still just within the borders of Lilydale regardless). So I am only just in Melbourne. I'd actually love to move further out...

I was wanting to buy a house there earlier this year, because it's so pretty ... but when we did the sums it turned out that buying a house probably wasn't the most financially sound decision.
