Or am I the only one up here? Like, Coon Rapids, Anoka, Andover, Brooklyn Park; or just any other city not terribly close to the other write-in areas.

If people would be able to do it, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday nights basically are always free for me.

I'm in North Minneapolis, near Brooklyn Center. My hubby is disgruntled enough with NaNo, a write-in closer to home would make it a bit easier.

Count me in.... I'm in New Brighton and would be happy to meet northern-ish for a write in on Tuesdays or Wednesdays... though I don't have any good location recommendations.

It seems like Fridley is in the center of us so far. There's a library there, if you guys would like that. Otherwise, there's a Borders in Coon Rapids, or a Caribou in Brooklyn Center. If you got any other ideas, shoot. I'm willing to drive up to like 30 minutes, maybe a bit more if it works for everyone else.

Also, would Tuesdays/Wednesdays work for everyone? Starting around 6ish works best for me. How about you guys?

Hey northern suburbs people, I'm in Andover! It would be awesome if we could have write-ins at the Borders in Coon Rapids-- since I still don't have my license, and my parents would prefer not to drive far. The only problem is that I work on Wednesday evenings until 8, so I'd prefer if it was another night.

I've never been to write-ins before, even though I've done Nano four years now. I'm looking forward to meeting some of you other MN wrimos!

Hi all!
I'm in north Robbinsdale, close to Brooklyn Center and weekends would probably work best for me.

A few locations I just googled:

Caribou shops:
Brooklyn Center- 3900 Lakebreeze Ave. N. or 5711 Xerxes Ave. N.
Spring Lake Park- Ste 100, 8097 Hwy 65
Coon Rapids- 8601 Springbrook Dr. NW

Starbucks: Coon Rapids- 8600 Springbrook Dr. NW

Perkins:
Fridley- 7520 University Ave. NE

Denny's:
Brooklyn Center- 6405 James Cir N.
Coon Rapids- 8850 University Ave. NW

I'm in New Brighton. Tuesday nights or Saturdays are good. I could make some Wednesdays. Would love to work something out for a write-in!

I am in Ham Lake and am up for a write-in in the area! I'd love it if there was one at the Coon Rapids Borders.

So would the Borders in Coon Rapids would work for everyone? Tuesdays/Sundays seem to work best. Would everyone want to pick a time range for each of those days that would work? It'd be cool to get this sorted out before. Heck, we could do a pre-nano planning/meeting thing to make sure things work. And say if the Borders in CR wouldn't work. If you live pretty close, I could probably pick you up if need be (but I'd appreciate meeting you first).

Here, Tuesdays from 3 - 930 work for me (gotta watch the Daily Show at 10!) or like 8am-8pm on Sunday. I'm really free on those days.

Tuesdays and Thursdays work best for me (weekends are usually out for me as I work every other weekend). But if there are multiple write-ins I'd definitely try to make it to any that happen on a Tuesday or Thursday afternoon/evening.

I'm surprised at the results! Every time I've tried to get anything going in my neck of the woods, I had a very low response. LOL

Does Border's have outlets??? People with laptops are going to want power. ;)

Dunn Bros. in Fridley has outlets, but they are small.
Anoka Dunn Bros. has more space, but isn't Coon Rapids.
Caribou has outlets, but is crowded.

I can make it anyday / any time. So, whatever people decide, is fine with me.

If anyone needed a ride, you can call me at 763-257-7950. :D (Clean driving record, smoke-free, scent-free car)

Wow, I haven't checked the forums in a while, and I too am happy to see all the northern people who want to get together.

1 - Sundays and Tuesdays would definitely work for me
2 - how about Sunday afternoons.... starting at 1 or 2? Tuesdays starting at 8?
3 - Anyone sure on the Coon Rapids Borders outlet issue... all caribous I've been to are way too small.

We could try to meet at the Coon Rapids Borders for an inaugural meeting next Sunday at 1, and if it doesn't work well, we could hunt down someplace else?

I live in WBL so north suburbs would be good for me. Coon rapids is a bit far, but i used to live over there so not too bad.
Sunday mornings and afternoons are great for me.

I concur with the meeting Sunday at 1. It'd be good to meet in person to talk, so we don't have the waiting time between us posting and whatnot. Would you want to meet at the cafe, or the little chair area in the back? I haven't been there that recently, so I always forget what's there. Or we could do the "everyone wears vivid colors" or something.

This Sunday at Border's I'll be there. Why don't we meet at the tables, where there's space, and I'll just plan on getting their early. I'll be wearing a black floppy hat, and if I remember, I'll make a Nano 50,000 words or bust sign. :D

I live in the Chisago Lakes area, which is even farther north. I'd love for some write-ins up here. :)

I likely won't be able to make it this Sunday. Will be in Red Wing. But will think of all of you.

JessiLou and I are in the Ham Lake area. We could meet up with you sometime. Somewhere in Forest Lake would be about half way. Anybody else who wants to meet up there could join us.

Hmm, I'm in New Hope so Coon Rapids isn't too bad of a drive for me. Perhaps I can show up to some of these! I've done NaNo 4 times, this is my 5th, and I've never met up at a write in, haha.

My mom said that they improved the Border's coffe shop and added outlets! Yea! And the Wi-Fi is free. This means, that it should work out, if people don't mind round tables.

So, I thought that who ever could show up on Sunday, that maybe we could have a planning session for out novels too, if people wanted too.

I'll get to Border's early, and will check back here to see how many people are showing up so that I can reserve space for every one. :D

Yeah, that's about it. We might change it, depending on what people say at the Sunday one (like, I can't do this/can we go somewhere else/etc). But it'll most likely stay there.

Well, I had a confusing reply wiped out by a time-out... ok, long story short: I'm in South Minneapolis on Sundays. Can we do another at Panera, Caribou, or Perkins (all in relatively the same area) in Brooklyn Center on either Thursday or Friday evenings around 6:30 - 7-ish? I could make those, would love to make those.
