Not counting doing NaNo, November is sort of crazy for me. I'm wondering if we can get some write-ins on the calendar early so that we can plan which one(s) we can attend.

Thanks.

There will most likely be a write-in at Mo'Joe Coffeehouse every Saturday in November before the writers group, probably starting around 2:00pm. I will have to talk to the owner and make sure he's able to accommodate us again. Other than that, my husband (also a NaNoer) and I will probably end up at the Starbucks in Brownsburg most Sunday mornings (as we did last year). Anyone else planning to be anywhere regularly?

Last year there was a small (two-person) write-in at Lazy Days coffee shop down in Irvington between myself and Terridactile. It was every Tuesday...I think. Anyway, I'm guessing that may come back this year.

I live in Broadripple, and scheduled a few write-ins at the Starbucks there. I'd be up for scheduling another one, say maybe on a Thursday.

Still have no clue what I'm going to write about this year.

I'll probably end up somewhere every Sunday... Given my new neighborhood, it'll probably be either Panera Bread on Fry Road or The Bean Cup from 11 to 1 or 2-ish. (I'm in Greenwood) I'll post more exact info once I know for sure!

Me and my sisters(possibly my mother) will be Nano-ing away at the Panera Bread at the corner of Rockville and Raceway in Avon.

Deets:
South Raceway (#1081)
55 South Raceway Road
Indianapolis, Indiana 46231
(317) 273-8820 | phone
(317) 273-8821 | fax

Day: Sunday - every Sunday in November
Start time: Noon
End time: 4-5pm
Where: Go straight to the back, there's a smallish room near the bathrooms with plugs. We'll have at least one power strip with us. I have a Nano sticker from last year on my laptop.

I am close to that ... What days and time will you be there at Avon panera bread?

Anybody on the northeast side in the Noblesville/Fishers/Carmel area? I'd love to do a write in this year, but downtown Indy is a little far for me to drive!

I'm on the NE side, just south of Castleton. Carmel writers haven't chimed in yet, but we've usually had several up there. We always have one evening write-in in Broad Ripple or Castleton, if that would work.

Last year we had the Saturday write-ins downtown and a Broad Ripple write-in most Tuesdays. Those both seemed to work for a lot of people, so we'll probably keep a similar schedule for the so-called "official" write-ins this year (for those who are new, "official" just means that an ML will be there at the scheduled times).

We had a slew of events last year, however. If I remember right, writers set up their own write-ins in Greenwood, Carmel, Irvington, Avon, Broad Ripple, the NW corner, and downtown. Something was going on just about every day of the week.

If you're trying to figure out a schedule for November, I'd say your best bet is to pick which days of the week would work best. The schedule evolves throughout the month, to some extent, as new groups spring up that might be closer or more convenient for you.

That said, we have a big write-in every Saturday afternoon downtown, and I write with my daughter Tuesday evenings (usually 6-8ish) on the north side. Tuesdays were Broad Ripple last year and Castleton for '06 and '07. I'm good with anything in that general area.

Ah, I *thought* Tuesdays were Broad Ripple last year. Let's do that again this year as well if that suits everyone else. I know I can make that night regularly....to write the story idea I'm trying to come up with....still............

I'm sticking to my tradition of winging it, but deep down I'm hoping the idea that grips me on November 1st is a full story, like last year. It wasn't a cheerful story, but it beat shoving my characters down hills and hitting them with shovels just to see if a plot magically appeared.

I added tentative dates and times to the calendar. We need to make sure Mo'Joe still has room for us, and we'll have to pick a venue in Broad Ripple once we know roughly how many will show. The days and times will probably stay the same.

My suggestion for a Tuesday write-in in Broad Ripple would be Starbucks, mainly for size and hours. There is another coffee shop that I can think of, but I'll have to check on the hours for that one. It might work. I think it's a Hubbard and Cravens. I actually have never been in that one. Monon Coffee is the most awesome, but their space is limited, and they don't have any hours past 8pm, which won't work well for us at all.

The Greenwood locations would be perfect for me, too. (I'm in Franklin.) I'll be keeping an eye out for more info!

Hi, I just asked in a different place about write-ins for those living on the northside. I live in Fishers. Are there enough people in Hamilton County and Northern Marion County who might be interested in meeting someplace central for all of us? I live way up close to the Hamilton Town Center at I-69 and SR238. I go to Broad Ripple at least once a month, but I'm wondering if anyone might want to consider meeting at someplace like Panera Bread or Starbucks in southern Hamilton County.

If anyone else is interested, please chime in. I'm pretty open on time and place, but obviously would prefer Fishers or Carmel or even Castleton or Keystone at the Crossing.

Sometimes it's a hassle driving to Broad Ripple from where I live, but it's not that big of a deal.

If anyone else is interested in trying to set up a place and time to meet in or around Fishers or Carmel or anywhere close by, please chime in. I know I will be gone for one weekend this month (November 13-15), when I will be at a writer's retreat, as a matter of fact. If weekends are the favorite time, I'll just have to miss that weekend. But I am pretty open otherwise on my schedule.

Or, if anyone already knows of a group that will be meeting closer to my home in Fishers, please let me know.

Thanks!

Peggy D.

I'm also in the Carmel/Hamilton County area and interested in doing some write-ins closer to here. If any are planned, I'll see if I can make it.

My group, the Indy Writers' Group, is having write in's every Friday in November from 7pm-10pm.

Anyone is welcome to join us. We'll be in the cafe.

Borders - River Crossing
8675 River Crossing
Indianapolis, IN 46240

A tiny bit about our group - we started in 2005 and have over 100 members who talk via a Yahoo Group. We also have a blog on blogspot, a myspace site and a facebook group. We have 6-10 writers who are participating on this years NaNoWriMo. Some veterans and a lot of newbies. We are a very welcoming and supportive group.

Okay, so unfortunately The Bean Cup is closed on Sundays. So, it looks like I'll be at the Panera Bread on Fry Road in Greenwood every Sunday from 10-12 (at least), if anyone wants to join me. I know it might be a bit late for today, but hopefully I'll see some of you then!

There was talk last night in the chat of having a write-in on Monday afternoons at IUPUI, somewhere in the 2pm-6pm range. I work on campus and could arrange a place for us to meet if I knew how many would be interested in that.

I could be at IUPUI from about 4 to 5:30 or 5:45 (depending on where we meet, because I have a class at 6).

I started a thread for the IUPUI thing with the details but it looks like we decided to meet in CE, 2nd floor, across from the Caribou Coffee. Look for a bright yellow Nanowrimo Write In sign.

I want to thank everyone for being so willing to set up write-ins all over the city. As Ericka said, she and I can't be everywhere, so it's great to see such response.

I've just added a couple more weekly write-ins to the calendar. If you're planning on being somewhere regularly weekly, and would like others to join you, let me know and I'll add it. Specifically I think there was a Carmel write-in put together, but I'm not certain what the final decision is (if there is one yet.) Just let me know.

Thanks and happy writing!

We're having our first Write In tonight at the Borders near the Fashion Mall. (8675 River Crossing, Indianapolis) It's a hop skip and a jump from Carmel, Fishers and North Marion County.

Anyone is welcome to join us in the cafe. We'll have a NaNoWriMo sign up. There should be about 5 of us.

We'll be at Borders - River Crossing every Friday from 7pm-10pm in the month of November.

We're on the calendar too, sorry if this is redundant, just wanted to help.

I'm kind of jazzed that my schedule is actually going to allow for it this evening. I was just up there buying "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep" last Saturday. Looking forward to meeting fellow WriMos.
