Hokay... so I know Windsor is Berks, not London, but there is no Berks group (and I've cross-posted to Oxford).

Windsor library seems to be open until 8pm on Tuesdays - so I figure I'll squirrel myself away in a corner in the Reference section upstairs to get a bit of wordcount happening. I'll be the one writing...

If anybody is in the area and wants to join me, they're welcome. The room will probably hold a handful quite easily.

but... it is a library and I do want to get writing done - so this'll be a quiet write-in (not a social meetup).

We can always go for a pint/dinner afterwards, though. :)

I live in Slough, so just down the road (sort-of). I probably won't be able to make Tuesday evenings, as I only get back from work late, but how about weekends? Is the library open on Saturdays?

woo! I'm in Slough too! Do you wanna figure something out for Slough as well?

Slough library doesn't seem to be open in the evenings - 7pm is the latest :P

I'm also fairly busy on weekends and want them free for the Reading/Oxford/London write-ins...

Do you know any other places we could meet up in the evenings?
What time do you get off from work?

Hmm...I can't really think of anywhere, although I don't know Slough that well. I don't usually get back till 7.30 on weeknights, sadly. Do you know what time the Starbucks on the high street is open till?

I went in to ask. They're open 7-7... so not very useful.
Slough pretty much dies after 6pm :P

That's why I was looking at Windsor &/or Eton.

The only places (with enough chairs) I know are still open are: McDs (can't stand it myself), Wetherspoon's (dark and noisy) and Nando's (could be ok - but we would probably have to buy some food).

I live in Windsor and would love to join in Write ins, but Tuesday evening is my busy evening. I'm afraid I can't think of anywhere else in the area either though :(

Hmm...looks like you might be on your own on Tuesday evenings then, Taryn - I wish I could make it, but working in London sadly means late nights for me (boo!). Maybe I'll see you and refracted at the Kick-off party though, or some of the weekend London write-ins?

Oh, Windsor is much more accessible in the evenings. Apart from the usual pubs (too noisy to bother with, methinks), there's a few places in the Royal archway thingy near the station that are open quite late. Outside of HaHa bar, and the place that does Tapas. Cafe Nero or Costa there might be open until 7ish too. I'd love to stay in Cinnamon cafe, they have such great coffee, but they close at 6:30 :P

I'm happy to head for the library on Tuesdays *and* pick another day for Writing in Windsor :)
so if you have any prefs, lemme know!

I'm living between Maidenhead and Windsor, and likewise was dissapointed to find no Berkshire regional group.

As I am currently an art student based in Reading, I have to attend a compulsary life class this term (in Reading), which would probably be on Tuesdays, but I will see what I can do, and I would love to join you all for at least one of the sessions!

On the other hand, if anybody is closer to Reading, I'd love to have some meet-ups around there...?

Hey Danas - check out the Oxford group too. They have an ML (and others) in Reading and there will also be a regular Reading meet-ups too.

If we can scrape together enough people from these two groups we can maybe organise a Berkshire group next year? :)

I live in Englefield Green - the 71 bus goes to Windsor, and it's not very far. I'll be there.

Well, I have to say I quite like Windsor library as a write-in space.
It's warm, it's bright, it's quiet, there was lots of space, and the big table is situated right next to the 'writing' section of books - so I spent my non-writing time quietly perusing books such as 'how a write a novel in year' ... hah! we can beat that! ;)
