Anyone want to meet up on Halloween night? I think someone may have already posted about meeting at Gypsy's and I'd be all for that, but if anyone has any other ideas, that would be great!

Gypsy's is open 24 from Friday til Sunday morning, so it's a perfect place. Other places will end up closing up, and this place has yummy cheap food, and while some of us typed there last year, you can also pen and paper it easily enough.

I hope to make it out there this year!

So, I'm assuming this party starts late, since we're technically not supposed to start writing words until Midnight? What time are people planning to arrive? I might try to sneak out after my kids are asleep and join you.

I remember showing up around 11, 11:30 that night for that write-in, so. Hopefully that gives you a guideline.

I haven't even started this crazy challenge and already my brain is fried...looks like the Stone Wolf Coffee gathering I mentioned is NOT happening. Sorry about that. Seems only Durham is going to have a "kick-off" at Gypsy.

What a world, what a world........

Yeah, I know. There is a Stone Wolf over at Health Park, and it's nice, but it's not open at any times that would be convenient to us.

...

Unless you'd be for a Saturday morning write-in kind of thing. That might be doable...

Gypsy's is in Cary, not Durham. It's off Buck Jones Rd very close to Raleigh actually.

Last year we met there about 11:30 as Ryan mentioned, and we had a great time with only about 7 of us. They are a small place, so we can't take over too much, and pen and paper works better than a laptop, but the food is cheap and good, and they are open the entire night.

Just remember to order something to pay for your space there, and don't overstay your welcome. It is a Saturday night, and for every table not seated in a section, you're wonderfully kind waitress is losing money. Tip accordingly :)

Is there a time when the meet ends? I dun wanna get there too late if I go.
Also, will there be some identification as to where the Nano table is?

There isn't a specific time, per se. Just... when you get tired. I think we wrote until something like two in the morning? three? Something obscene, that's how I remember it.

Also, we will be identifiable as a group of people sitting around with notebooks out. I'll do what I can to have a sign up and ready for you, but my parents are visiting and I don't know how that's going to go. So.

Word. I would say I should remember what u look like, but... Well, I'm horrible at that. Got an aunt visiting but if I get out I'll prolly wear the same blue jacket with green in it... Possibly a cap. Do they have an electrical socket to plug the computers into?

Not that I remember ever seeing, no. But that doesn't necessarily mean anything.

Ooh, I'm definitely going to be there. I'll probably get there 11:30 after I'm done trick-or-treating (yes, I'm 18 and still trick-or-treating. lol. Still a child at heart). :D

You are what you do. Therefore, it is not the question "Who am I?" that matters so much as the question, "What should I do?" And it is clear the answer to the latter question is LOVE.

I'm not dressing up - I am going in regular clothes. Looks like it's going to be a black v-neck t-shirt and jeans... Oh, and my hair is in braided pigtails and I wear dark red rectangle glasses. I'm planning on being there about 11:30ish, and will probably leave around 12:30/1am.

Again, please remember this is a busy night for the gals at Gypsy's - with it being Halloween and a Saturday night to boot, there will be a lot of people going there are hitting the bars. We do not want to keep them from seating others, nor do we want to be seen as squatters. The longer we sit in a table, the fewer tables our waitress will get, which means less money in her wallet. Tip accordingly, and don't over stay your welcome!

I'll shoot for 11:45. Let's see... Black, probably will still have on this brown suit over a t-shirt., I assume I'm spose 2 bring a laptop to write on, so... I will, in a bag. 5'9"-5'10. I may also be wearing a cross and a fake money ring. Although I think I'm going to elect not to redo the stuff I had on my hand and face.
