We're Back!

(Actually some of us *cough* are still here and have been since Nov/2007) =D

The "NaNoWrimo (sic) Procrastinator" Alliance-side guild on the World of Warcraft Misha server is gearing up to provide fun and sport, camaraderie and support to the maddened nano-novelists through the joys, despairs, self-induced guilt trips and word-counts lagging worse than Dalaran. (Hey! Remember when Shattrath was call Shattlag? --Now its Dalaggran.)

The NaNoWrimo guild was created in November of 2007 by Teacake (aka: Misspell) who soon passed guild leadership over to Dragonea (Dragonia on these forums) in mid-November or December of 2007. We all had great fun through the last two Nanos and beyond. For some of us, Misha became our home server. Early this spring, I became the third Guild Leader of this awesome guild. I'm dedicated first to supporting my fellow Nanoers and being supported by them, and second to playing the game that has been my main entertainment for about three years.

So join us on Misha for a place to play, gripe, procrastinate for a little while, and to be encouraged, informed, hugged, fed cookies, and then sent back to work on your word count. =D

Say hi to us here and give us your nano-name when you see us in WoW when you want to join us (and have "NaNoWrimo Procrastinator" right there under your character name)!

See you there!

Hi again Jander! Looking forward to sneaking over to the Alliance side again for a month. This Nano guild is great because it means I can play for an hour or so without getting hassled by my Horde guild to join a raid. ;-P

P.S. *I* never got cookies last year...

Hey, this is Cheklov, back with my ridiculous number of alts...and this year I dragged my brother/highly critical sounding board into the guild too. We'll be around quite a bit all the way into the new year (as always).

Other than getting some of the new recruits able to invite (yeah, it's so I can stick yet another alt in the guild), things seem to be running good on the server, though guild population online at any one time remains low.

It's good to see ya as boss, SJ, and I'll see you online.

Hi, all! I'm new to the guild this year and will be sneaking over to procrastinate with you guys when I'm not raiding or saving up for repair money. I'm looking forward to a fun month of writing and wow madness!

Grrr...

I signed up for more time just in time to witness my computer decide to rebel. Currently, my computer is shutting down inexplicably any time I'm either:

1. on for a long time

OR

2. try to do something complex like download patches for WoW or try to make banners for NaNo...

Anyway, I'm not sure if I'll actually get to play, but I'm hoping to. I miss it. And I'll definitely be back in the guild with Verynie if I do.

Alas! I shall not be joining you (my WoW time is limited enough that I really can't justify disappearing from Sentinels completely for four weeks), but I will be with you in spirit, I promise!

Hey guys! Hope everyone is well.

'k, so, I know I'm really annoying, but here's the thing. When I first created the guild, I did it on my home server, because it was just easier to have money to get started. But that meant I was always deleting my NaNo character some time in January or February to free up space in my character list, then bugging y'all for an invite the following October. Which is what I'm about to do now, but! I've since transferred servers and have no characters on Misha, so I could keep this one forever and ever and ever.

So if I could just trouble you guys one more time for an invite, I promise promise promise it'll be the last time ever. Misspell has been reincarnated as a night elf priest (I've always thought it would be fun to have Shadowmeld in AV). I'll try y'all later. :)

Do we have a coffee break time?

Hi Guild!

Ruga the rogue dwarf will be back for a third Wrimo -- in fact she was warming up her daggers just the other day. Plus my Gnome DK will be looking for a guild invite.

On top of Nano and WoW this November, I'll be sailing in the Bahamas for the second week of the month. The good thing about that is very little WiFi. The trouble is when you're in charge of the boat, there are distractions from writing (like ordering people to raise and lower sails, anchoring, joy riding in the dinghy, snorkeling, scuba diving, drinking rum...).

But I'm sure I'll see you all in game the second half of the month.

I'm sure little Eury and Vespy will get played some this month. They deserve to actually get to do something beyond log in to pick up yet another new pet out of their mailbox. Honestly, a level 4 with less than an hour of /played time should not have 5 vanity pets. Now if I could just figure out a way to smuggle some gear their way...

Well met, fellow procrastinators! I too shall be appearing during November in one of several possible Mal-carnations. Some old, some new, some borrowed (well, transferred to be exact) and some blue...ish. More a sort of greyed indigo actually, but that just doesn't rhyme as well. Anyway, I'll be there and I'll be rebellious. Mild mannered engineer by day, hell raising NanoRebel by night. Some say word count is King, but I say for goddess' sake let me throw off the shackles of endless starting of new works and finish something for a change. And so I shall strive to make it so.

Whatever you're writing, old or new, fan fiction or deep purple prose, the NaNoWriMo Procrastinator guild is a great place to hang out in November. I look forward to seeing you there.

Down with the King! ;^)

I'll definitely be setting up a character on this server to join my fellow writers/gamers. One thing though - my guildies and I call Dalaran "Lagaran".

*edit* I made a random rogue named Maqu. Hopefully I wont procrastinate too horribly but I will be getting on whenever my WoW fix is trying to out-weight the need to write.

Hi everyone!
Dragonea (/Drageia/Dragarni and many other "Drag-"s) here. Hello again to all those returning to the NaNo Pro guild, it's great to see you again! And as always, it is wonderful to see so many new-comers as well. Although I recently quit WoW, I will be reactivating my account (starting November 1st) because this guild has always been a central part of the NaNoWriMo experience for me and also a great influence. Looking forward to meeting you all and sharing another hectic November with you!

This sounds like a most excellent idea. I've been playing Horde for the past 3 years, but my original characters were Alliance. I'm an altoholic, so this definitely appeals to me. My main is a tauren druid and I've always wondered how those Night Elves roll. ;)

So if you get a whisper asking for an invite from a Night Elf druid named Virridia, that'll be me! :D

Wonderful to see all the new "faces", not to mention the ::ahem:: *old* faces as well. =D

Welcome to Nano Pro!

* Kickoff Party starts Saturday, Oct 31st and continues through November first. Check the in-game Calendar for the Event signup sheet. What this means is that since we are all in different time zones we just drop in/leave when we can.

* I've given everyone the power to invite to guild. With great power of course comes great responsibility. (Where have I heard that before?) ;) In this case it means that you must guard and protect our Guild's main rule: Only Nanowrimoers who are currently signed up on the official NaNoWriMo.org site are allowed to join. So please get their nano-name first.

* For newcomers to the guild, there is a space for your nano-name and your word-count in your Guild Info.

* The 50K wordcount has been broken into bite sized daily chunks of 1667 words and posted as a guild announcement on the in-game Calendar. These announcements also have encouraging nano messages to read and (hopefully) enjoy (mostly from Chris's Book "No Plot, No Problem"). Note: only 16 days worth so far because the interface got wonky on me. Will try again tomorrow.

* Everyone is able to create guild events. So write-ins, challenges, brag-fests, drills, naked-death-runs, invitations to instances (for daily word count achievers), pity-parties, and Anything-To-Get-My-Word-Count-Up parties, go for it. Go all out! =D

*oh, and please take stuff from the Guild Bank. The first three tabs are available to everyone within limits; if you see something you want in the fourth tab, ask an officer, k?

Consider all Officers as MLs for our online WoW Region. We are here for each other. Happy Nano-Novelling! (yeah even you Rebels!) ;D

@RavenCorbie

Not sure if you've gotten this taken care of or not, but this can happen if dust builds up in the heat sink on your cpu, or the cpu fan breaks. If it's just dust, you can just blow it out with some canned air.

*huff* *puff* *WHEEZE!*

Marnie Maxwell, reportin' fer duty, Ma'am!

*smart salute*

I swear, I'm so happy they made mounts available at 20. The world is just too big for her short legs. I've been learning how to, you know, PLAY MY CLASS over the last year, so I should be able to do some reasonably *competent* solo-procrastinating while out in the world chatting up you fine folk.

Won't be there Saturday (gogo costume party), but will try to be there sometime during the day on Nov. 1st...even if not for long. Knowing me, come Midnight I'll be hauling to jump up my word count as quickly as possible. Newer laptop, so it shouldn't die on me.

Hey all!

I created a Draenei Paladin for the guild named Emmea. Of course, no one in the guild was on when I signed on, so I'll check back later. I made a pally because that's the one thing I've never tried at least once. I figured if I'm procrastinating I might as well try something new!

I just created a Night Elf Druid named Everdeen. I just started playing wow a few months ago, but i've never played on the Alliance side. So I guess I'm excited to try it out. =]

This is a brilliant idea! My main server is Windrunner (3/4 toons Horde-side), but I would love to join a guild where others feel my NaNo procrastination pains. :) A baby warrior might be joining you soon.

EDIT: Have now delivered unto the World of Warcraft a baby pally instead. :) *baby Shelee waves her sword in the air triumphantly*

Hey, We're off to a good start! I started writing on the stroke of midnight (EST) and would have kept going all night I think just putting one word in front of another. I was happily surprised to see 2624 words done by the time I was too tired to type an hour and ten minutes later. No idea where its going to go yet, but this being my fourth year I do know that the story WILL reveal itself soon.

I met some more of you in-game tonight. Makes me happy to know we are all equally excited about this crazy endeavor..

I shoved my Inner Critical Editor away under a big pile of old newspapers, so that should keep it happy for awhile and out of my hair. I didn't even look up at the screen to watch what I was typing this time. =D

* Prizes are given out in-game for excerpts uploaded to your personal pages here, as well as for hitting the halfway mark and for crossing the finish line. Yay for us! =D

Hee. Most folks were gone by the time I showed up, but I got myself and my girlfriend an invite, so TravlrBlues and Grfa might be joining you from time to time over the month.

I can't believe I spent the first half an hour after midnight rolled over trying to net myself some bandanas for a starter quest. Figured that rolling a human would be a best bet so as to make any meetings in Stormwind, but everyone else seems to have rolled a DK, Dranei, or dwarf. -:D

Well I really took the procrastination plunge today, and actually *paid* to transfer an old lvl-15 dranei shaman to Misha, so now Styxie is also in the guild. Moonage also dinged like 3 times. BUT, on the other hand, I broke 3,000 words today so I'm doing okay. Well, except for the fact that I'm all hunched over and my hands are like claws from being on the computer all day.

Thanks, aaronwaste, I cleaned out the computer. I hope it helps! So far, I've been on for awhile tonight and it hasn't shut down, which is a good thing, but I won't know for sure unless it stays on for a really long time. I do notice that it's a lot quieter now, though, so I'm guessing that's it.
