Last year we had a regular mid-week meet up at Cafe Milano that was really helpful and fun.

I can't do Wednesdays this year, but how about Tuesdays at Milano? I can bring the extension cord and power strip. Thursdays also works.

I work in downtown Berkeley, and this would be very convenient for me! Tuesdays or Thursdays- either would work. :)

I can't make it on the weekdays, but a couple of us are starting up meeting at Cafe Milano on Saturdays at 6PM, if anyone wants to join in on Saturdays too.

I'd be down for Tuesday evenings at Milano, just can't recall about their internet situation? There's also one of my favorite spots, Sack's, on the corner of College and Derby. Free internet and good food too. It's only open until 10p though.

Sack's sounds good. I think Milano has no internet. Tuesdays 7-10 sounds perfect.

any ML want to put that one on the calendar please? :)

Hi folks,

I live in Pacifica butb I work in Emeryville. I would be interested in weekday evening write-ins in the Oakland/Berkeley area. Internet access is not really an issue for me, since I plan on writing the whole time, not surfing.

Milano does have a couple of wifi signals one for pay that I've never used (same kind Roma uses) and a free one that's spotty and interrupted with the occasional ad reminding you that it's free wifi. Great place to work since that means you can focus more on writing and not lose precious time researching on Wikipedia. :P

Cool! I'm a Berkeley alum, so it'll be like coming home again.

See you there!

My goodness, I'm a UCB freshman and this arrangement would be ridiculously convenient for me!
I mean, at Milano, that is, just across the street from the main campus.

I've booked a standing video taping assignment at Haas Business School Mondays 4-6pm so Cafe Milano on Mondays at 6:30p on would work well for me. Anybody else? I'll try on Nov 2nd and see if anyone shows up... (note to self: make a NaNoWriMo sign)

I should be able to make the Tuesday evenings at Milano as well. I'm also interested in doing it other nights as well in the Oakland / Berkeley area

This sounds great! I'm a UCB freshman as well, and that's a very convenient spot - I'll definitely be there! See you all Tuesday night. :)

Yeah! Tuesday nights are great for me. Frictitious, if you can bring the power strip, it means the world to me, since my battery is shot.

Ria, (and anyone else who needs to know)

I won't be at Cafe Milano tonight. I'll be at Cafe Trieste on Piedmont in Oakland. Much better parking and outlet situation there. The official bayside East Bay write in (berkeley, oakland and emeryville wrimos) is now Tuesdays 7-10 pm, Cafe Trieste. (see calendar)

However, that doesn't mean people can't go to Cafe Milano if they so choose! But I would bring a 10-15 foot extension cord and power strip if you need juice of the electric kind. their juice of the orange kind is actually quite tasty. :)

I'm still interested in meeting at Milano, if other people are. I won't have (or need) an extension cord or anything, though. Maybe meeting on Thursdays as well?

I'd totally be up for Thursdays. =) I work on Tuesdays, alas, so all this 'YAY CAFE TRIESTE/MILANO ON TUESDAYS' has me feeling a wee bit sad and lonely in my corner.....

I'm going to have to go scrounge up an extension cord though....

Caffe Trieste was a lot of fun last night, and if we can get enough people, I'd love to do both Tuesdays and Thursdays there? The more days, the more fun!

I'd totally be up for Thursdays. =) Not this Thursday though, since I've got to cover someone's shift at work. But definitely starting next Thursday, if enough people are up for it.
