As you can probably tell from my size I'm a rather big eater. A big eater with money and time during the holidays. I'd thought I'd just ask for any reccomendations for eating places? I eat nearly anything.

Dan Ryan's has a good set-lunch menu. You can collect little stickers and get a free lunch eventually. If you were in the UK you could do the cheap all-you-can-eat Chinese buffet with a special rate for students, except the food is so not proper Chinese food and the word 'cheap' is only relative to the cost of other eating out places here, which is super expensive. One reason I love Singapore.
Oh yes, before I forget ... apart from the cake bit for the Kick-off Party the food options at earshot are really limited and pricey, so eat before you arrive but leave room for cake.

I don't recommend pushing your luck, though. I knew someone who used to nip in right at the start of the buffet and stay till the end. And he did it regularly.
So one day at the end of the all-you-can eat he was approached by two burly waiters who effectively said "Compliments of the manager, sir. He is impressed by your appetite and dinner is on the house. But if you ever show up again we'll break your kneecaps."

Mad Jack's used to be better for value than it is today, but you can't go wrong with their beef burgers - they make their own patties and they're downright delicious. There's a chicken version if you don't eat beef, but they're famous for their said beef burger. $7.90 for a burger with three patties, will definitely fill you up. They have a few outlets, one next to Coronation Plaza and another at Jalan Kayu (I think).
Another place I like to go is at the top floor of Far East Plaza. There are all sorts of cheap(ish) food stalls there, mostly of the halal-Chinese and Indonesian-Malaysia orientation. I say cheapish because it's relative to the area; a fried rice will probably cost you around $4.
And a little hint - go to the unis and polys if you want to eat cheap. Food at my poly is $1 to $2 cheaper than it is outside, and that's generally true of the other polys as well. The downside to that is that you have to go at the off-hours when it's not so crowded, but if you're on holiday and live nearish a poly or uni, a late/early meal shouldn't be too much trouble.

I found this new restaurant/cafe at Parkway called Toby's. The desserts there are amazing!
----------So far I have tried more desserts than food but the food is quite good too. It seems to becoming a regular hangout for my friends and I

You can try Eighteen Chefs : http://www.eighteenchefs.com/
The outlet at Fusionopolis has students specials. Personally, I think they're a better worth than Swensen's; larger serving portions, better service and cheaper. No service charge.

You could try Burger Shack; it's a relatively new eatery run by the same folks who do Island Creamery. It's next to Coronation Plaza at Bukit Timah, so check this out on the way to Mad Jack's as well.
Yum yum..
