I'm surprised a Mercer topic hasn't popped up sooner. Wasn't there a regularly meeting Mercer group?

I know there are a few of you out there. Who would like to meet up?

Hey I'm a brand new member. I just found out about NaNoWriMo yesterday!

I am also an officer for my school litirary magazine 'Echoes'. We meet in West Windsor - Plainsboro Highschool South and a community youth writing club. I was hoping if there was a write in, it could be around the West Windsor / Plainsboro area so that I could persuade members and other students to maybe join in the write in.

Thanks!

I would love to go to a write in. Anyway really works for me. Weeknights would be hard since I'm still in high school, but I'll make an effort to go to any!

Are there any write-ins in/near Princeton?

I'm in the area, but there's no guarantee I'll be able to make it to any write-ins.

Oh, yes please!

I'm in Mercer County and I'd love some local write-ins. I can't make any during the week (boo work all day and class until 10 pm!), but Friday nights, Saturdays and Sundays are my writing time.

I have a friend that works at the Hamilton Library, so I can ask her about writing space, if people are interested in that as a potential meeting place?

Hey, I'm in the Princeton area. Do you know of anyone else in the area?? It'd be cool to get a write-in going on.

I'm in Hopewell and would love to try to attend a write-in. I work full time and have two small children and a hubby who sometimes has to work nights so it's hard for me to make definite plans unless maybe on weekends? Anyway... will keep checking in. Good luck, everyone!

The Princeton Library has meeting rooms and is open seven days a week. 9-9 Mon-Thur 9-6 Fri.and Sat 1-6 Sun.
I don't know the hours of the Hamilton and Lawrenceville Libraries, but will check is people are interested. Obviously I am partial to Princeton, and am there several days a week. It's a $6,000,000 building...and a delightful experience.

I live in Trenton, but I might be able to make it to write ins about half an hour away. So Hamilton or so on. I also go to school at Mercer County Community College, if anyone else does. :D

I find the hardest part about this is setting the date... I don't think I can do most weekdays, though that depends on where it is. I honestly can't promise to come to anything, though I would like to try.

Another vote for West Windsor-Plainsboro/Princeton! The Princeton library is large and lovely, but most of the meeting rooms are best for up to 6 people. The Tower room is more a 'conference' space. They usually do reservations for one hour at a time, but perhaps we could beg and plead?

The new Plainsboro library will be up and running come NaNo 2010, I'm hoping we can make that a more permanent home. ;)

I like the idea of the Hamilton Library, I could probably attend write-ins there. We used to write at the Starbucks in Hamilton as well. It's not that big, but there's usually a decent amount of space, and has the advantage of a steady supply of liquid inspiration.

I'm in Lawrenceville. I'd be happy to meet here or in the surrounding area. I'm new to the area. Is parking expensive in Princeton? They have a free lot at the library here in Lawrenceville.

I live around the corner from the Lawrenceville Library. Princeton is nice, but driving up 206 at any remotely busy time is kind of agonizing, so that could be a factor. :-)

Anyone interested in the Nasau Park area off of Rt 1? It has a Panera Bread in one section and a Borders on the other- plus it seems centrally located and has tons of parking.

that is the best suggestion yet for me, living in plainsboro, the borders there has a good amount of seating area is not usually very crowded in the evenings, except if they have an author or someone in to sign something

I'm in Hopewell too...I'm a full-time novelist (published by Bantam), and could use the kick-in-the-pants of working writers around me.

Just collating the suggestions I've seen (haven't read them all), with comments:
Princeton Library (nice, but you have to pay for parking in Princeton, and the parking is often very hard to find.)
Princeton Borders--Nassau Park (Also really nice, but I don't think they have large tables anymore. I'd also be worried about parking in November, because the lot is impossible to navigate during the X-Mas season!)
Lawrenceville Library...I think this would be my first choice. They have several meeting rooms, parking is never a problem, and it's pretty centrally located.

There is one large table at Border's right now, a tall rectangular one.

Of course I think the Lawrenceville Library is an awesome idea, but Panera might work, also.

Is it safe to say we have a group in the making? The deciding factor on location might be a need for caffeine and discussion. Either way, Borders or Lville Library I would be interested.

Cheers All

Hopewell has a charming little coffee shop - Boro Bean, with a bunch of small tables. Free parking on the street. Not sure how late they're open. Not sure how much I'll be writing, since my 9 year old will be dictating his book to me (and he wants to write 50,100 words), but it's worth a try.

Like I said, I'd love to do Nassau Park, but the biggest issue (especially on weekends) will be parking. During X-Mas season....which is going to start in about a week, the traffic is absolutely awful, and it's almost impossible to find a spot without circling around and trying to follow people leaving the stores.

I love Boro Bean, it has a great coffee shop atmosphere that'd be really conducive to writing (I write there a lot, actually.) And the Pennington library has easy parking, and several meeting rooms too. But the Lville library may be a bit closer for the people who're further south.

Hi all!

I'm in Princeton, at the Theological Seminary. I'm pretty busy, but would love to come to some of the write-ins. I agree that the Library or Borders would be the best places. I don't have much else to offer other than my name as a person who would like to write.
