I actually have my own car this year, and I will be working at Hulen mall this holiday season (if not as a more permanent job) and I was wondering if there were going to be any write-ins or anything at the Barnes & Noble over on Hulen in south Fort Worth? I'd like to finally get out and meet some DFW Wrimos for the first time in my four years doing this.

lol I wouldn't even know how to go about scheduling anything!
I guess when I know my work schedule a little bit better then I can start?
Because I'd like to maybe do something there a few nights a week maybe meet up a few nights a week and just sit around and chat and write. ??

Steps to scheduling a write-in:
Step 1: pick a place, pick a day, pick a time.
Step 2: post the info on the forum [an ML will post it on the calendar for you].
Step 3: show up!
Steps to hosting a write-in:
----------Step 1: show up at the announced place, on the announced day, at the announced time, preferably with some sort of writing utensil or contraption.
Step 2: write!
Step 3: (optional) greet fellow WriMos as they arrive.
Step 4: (optional) mingle and converse with said WriMos
Step 5: (not optional) be kind to your baristas/servers. Tip nicely.

I would totally come and write at B&N on Hulen. I take the bus, so it couldn't be too late for me, but I'd be game for anytime before 8 or so.

I write there alot. Their biggest problem is lack of electrical outlets--I am going to start toting a power strip with me to solve that problem. Whoever planned that B&N did not keep laptops in mind, which is ridiculous. But, I like it there lots, so I deal. :) Was there five very productive hours yesterday.

Hey Shanna--
Still working out in my mind how I'm going to do this but probably hit the B&N several times a week after work, and would want to be finished up by 8 tops too. Probably 6-7:30ish...
I also like to be there when they open on Saturdays. I pretty much take Sundays off from writing but may on Sunday mornings too, when they open (to get the big tables with the plugs).

This is where I do most of my writing. This year, I can easily see myself up there 3-4 times a week. :D
Or, there's also that new-ish Starbucks on Hulen that my sis informs me is very nice. They would have electrical outlets, which my 5-year-old laptop might need.

Allow me to advertise my ambitious write-in at the Flying Saucer on Monday/ (maybe)Wednesday evenings - if y'all get bored of coffee and need a change of scenery/beverage, come on down! I'm not sure if anyone's coming over but I figure I'd give it a shot this year anyways!

I'm very close to that B&N and could show up for a write-in or two. Usually I wouldn't be there until after 8pm on weekdays, but a Saturday right when they open would be a really good fit.

I could also make it in early on Saturdays. I can try to make some weekday write-ins, but I would get there between 6:30 and 7.

I plan on being at B&N on Saturday and Sunday both--Saturday to work on something else, Sunday to get cracking. Maybe I should put a sticky on my laptop...I go early to grab the big tables w/plugs, right when they open. Can fit four on there!
Still not sure when during the week I'll hit there on the way home--work sometimes really flays me, and I always write at lunch anyway. But I may here and there. (My huskies make me pay and pay well for coming home late lol)
My daughter actually works at that Starbuck's and keeps telling me to go write there. I should--I get free drinks!
When do you hit the B&N? I am there often, too!

Well, my two sisters and I live very close to B&N on Hulen, and while one of my sisters and myself are NaNo Rhinos, our other sister (who also writes) is not yet convinced of the joys of joining countless others in banging our collective heads against a collective wall and doesn't think she'll be joining us as a NaNo.
However, I think the two of us Rhinos will be showing up at B&N on a fairly regular basis through the month, on weeknights, most probably. Look for us at the tables! I don't think either of us will be there this Sunday, but after work might work out.

I have to second the Starbucks vote -- the one on Hulen is really close to B&N, but has better outlet options and free wi-fi (if you use a Starbucks card -- free) for those that research while they write or who use web-based writing programs. Just a thought!
B&N is fine too. But my Crapple (aka MacBook) only gets about 2.5 hours nowadays. It's old, like me :)
Best, s.

I'm not ambitious enough to formally organize anything, but just a heads up that I'm gonna be at B&N periodically. I'll have an old clunky blue Dell laptop, and I'll probably stick a post it note on it that says NaNoWriMo or something.

I plan on being at the Hulen B&N sometime after 6:30 this evening. I work over at Gap Body in Hulen Mall, so I will be in the area. Anyone else going to be there?
Shoot me an e-mail at photocopiedheart@yahoo.com if you will be! I'll be the girl with the black HP laptop, and will probably have earbuds in and will be using a Tinkerbell messenger as my laptop bag. If you don't see anyone who looks like me by 7, just assume that I didn't show.

I don't know her, but I think I heard her name. I just started last week :)
I'll probably be doing this at the Hulen B&N two to three nights a week at the least. If I can get over my fear of driving downtown (I really don't know what I'm so afraid of, I did it once...) I'll go to the Flying Saucer.

Getting off work early today at 4ish so opting for B&N tonight rather than waiting until later to write. So if anyone is hanging around B&N Hulen I should be there around 5 today. I'll put a little sign out.

Oooh! Oooh! I can be there around then, too, yeah! I'll have my little composition book (doing it longhand this time - more portable). I'll be wearing a blue-and-black scroll-patterned top over blue jeans and white sneakers. I don't know if my sister will be able to make it as well, but she might decide to join us.
