Hi
My girlfriend dragged me into Starbucks a few nights ago and showed me the add for NanoWriters :)
I was intrigued and then doubtful (I can't write a novel!) then thought okay, I'll give it a try :)
Now I'm feeling a bit "old" lol and wondered if there is anyone out there in their 40's ... ??
Good luck everyone :)
Ezzie

My birth certificate says 43, although most days I can't believe I'm already a grown-up.
Time flies when you're having fun I guess.

There are a few of us over 40, even one or two that are over 50!
Good luck to you as well!

ah yes, women of a certain age~~~~I am definitely over 40 but hey just numbers right? This is my first time officially writing NANO but last year I did follow the No Plot no Problem book on my won and wrote 50,000 words but it took me 60 days! Of course it was summer and there were so many distractions. I am quite nervous, convinced my novel will sputter and die by page three but I am also totally pumped and eager to begin. Good luck to all over 40 and over 16 too. and please stay in touch.

Over 40 with no turning back. Lol ... in fact, so committed to this 40's path that I will even be turning 45 y.o. during NaNo!

yep...42 years old here...oops, I mean 43...no 44. Well anyway, 40-something. Are any 40 somethings interested in meeting for a write-in once a week at the Starbuck's on Columbia in New West?

Hey Helmax,
The Waves near the Starbuck's on Columbia Street is a good choice as well. Internet access is free.

Helmax & Jenbroo,
I'm in for a New West Write-in. Waves has more room and a separate room we can use if it's available

I'll wander by there tomorrow and find out if we can book the room. That would be cool.

I'm in my late 40's, and would welcome the opportunity to meet up with others around my age.
I live in Vancouver, and don't mind travelling to New Westminster by Skytrain for a write in. I will be using old fashioned technology - pen/pencil and paper.
I'm generally available evenings - Sundays and Mondays are particularly good.
Cheers,
Jael

Hi Jen and Sue!
That is great that you are checking it out. I look forward to meeting there. It is very close to New West station for those taking the train. Most nights will be good for me.

Hey Helmax!
I dare say that Waves is closer to the Skytrain than Starbuck's. I have not actually gone out and checked it out, so it could be that it is about the same distance. Waves is closer to the 8th Street Station and Starbuck's is closer to the 4th Street Station. But Waves has free Internet access, which is definitely a good feature. Here is the Waves link:

I am hoping that Sue is reading this message and is available for meeting up on Sunday (noonish) to do some writing. Usually what happens is Sue and I decide to go someplace to write, then one or the other of us will send out a note saying where we will be if anyone wants to join us. So .... I for sure will be at Waves in New West on Sunday @ noonish and all are welcome to join me. If I know how many people are interested, I will try to secure the community room. Otherwise, it can be very spontaneous and we all just try to find seats close together (which may end up happening anyhow).
Cheery regards,
Jennifer

Jenbroo & I had a chat. She's still planning to do the Sunday Waves thing. I'll stop by and say hi on my way downtown since I'm passing through New West on the way.

I'm over 40, and I'm LOL—but not because I'm over 40. (Is that what you wanted to know?)

Ezzie my child!
You consider over 40 "old,"? I beg to differ. In my book that's a spring chicken. Well, OK not in my book book that I'll start in Nanowrimo; you know what I'm saying right?!
No prizes, but try guessing my age. (I'll give you a hint: You should have been strong in Math in Kindergarten, to count that high.)
LOL.
